I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

Update on Joe.....

In a previous post, I mentioned that Joe is seriously ill....

Joe is experiencing ascites ( fluid in the abdomen) and we still have no idea why...

It is usually indicative of Liver involvement....

He is scheduled for a paracentesis on April 4th to drain that fluid and then will be scanned immediately afterward as the fluid is obstructing the view so scanning before would be useless......

I have finally got his blood sugars under control with insulin so that is a plus....

He is still weak and tires very easily....

The waiting and not knowing what is the cause of this is is a Killer....

We did celebrate our DIL Danielle's Birthday on Sunday.....

It was a wonderful day filled with family, the Twins, pups, laughter and love and normality which is something that we all needed.......

Here are a few pictures from Sunday's Birthday Celebration......

I took these pics with the camera on my phone because I did not want to use my regular camera with the flash when taking pictures of the Twins....

And now here are a few pictures of Joe.....

Yes, I know it is a shocking change especially since a month ago he was walking 7 times around the concourse of our Arena at Hockey Games .......

THANK YOU to all those who already are praying for Joe and for our family and to those who are just learning about this, I would greatly appreciate your prayers, especially for my sons, as we navigate through this health crisis.....

As for me, I have placed it in God's hands.....

We all will be celebrating Easter as we always do, together as a family.....

For today's post, we will start here where we left off, by the stove......

For Easter, I wanted to keep the colors of the Kitchen which are red and yellow....

I added orange in the way of carrots.....

I changed out the arrangement in the grater planter and tucked a few carrots into it.....

And I hung an Easter towel from it....

A sign that Joe bought at Big Lot's at 90% off that I embellished and changed a bit.....

On the side of the stove.....

A Dollar Tree carrot bag that I stuffed and added a few bows too....

Where the Kitchen window used to be before we made the patio into the Den......

I still treat it as a window.....

I hung a valance that I made from an embroidered table topper.....

I hung carrots, that I made, from the chandy.....

On the sides of the cabinets......

On the other side.....

On the sill.....

Pysanky eggs that I bought at a church flea market.....

My MIL made the Polish egg in ceramics that says "Happy Easter"!...

  I made the chick ornaments.....

 Over in the corner.....

I placed a chick and a few eggs in the wire tea cup.....

Another 90% off sign from Big Lots that I embellished.....

It is hard to find Easter pot holders in red, orange or yellow so I used these sunflowers ones from Dollar Tree.....

I made this "wreath" a few years ago.....

I really did not decorate the Beverage Bar area for Easter because it is very hard to even find Easter mugs in red, yellow or orange....

So it is decorated with some vintage pieces instead for more of a Spring look...

I hung my coffee sign that I bought  few years ago on Amazon....

I did place 2 mini carrot trees from Dollar Tree on the shelves....

A bunny with a yellow ribbon bow on top of the turntable....

A bright green place mat on top of a bright yellow one.....

 Vintage enamelware and cocoa container.....

A bunny figurine with red and yellow flowers that was gifted to me by a friend.....

I used my Sunflower mugs from Dollar Tree......

 On top of the refrigerator....

I bought this Bunny in J.C. Penney's a few years back.....

A red and yellow arrangement I made for this Easter tin bucket, that I bought at Michael's for 90% off, that rests on top of an enamelware breadbox.....

The plastic yellow bunny was mine as a child....

I filled this mason jar with eggs  and attached the lamp fixture to it.....

The counter bar.....

I left up the evergreen garland from Christmas/Winter.....

And decorated it with a carrot and bunny garland that my friend Anne Marie gifted me....

I added carrot ornaments that I made and 2 bottle brush carrot ornaments that I bought in Dollar Tree...

I did not do much Easter here on the top of the counter bar.....

I used 2 yellow and white checked place mats.....

I also made a cafe curtain from the embroidered table topper....

On the side of the counter bar....

More signs.....

And that ends my room by room Tour of our townhouse decorated for Easter this year......

On SATURDAY, I will share how I decorated Nelson Crest, my Victorian Doll House, for Easter as part of my Easter/Spring Home Tour!!!

So I hope you will stop by to visit again on  SATURDAY!!!

  1. Good Morning! Once again, <3 those babes. They're so sweet and love Danielle's hat. My prayers are with Joe and your family and I don't say that lightly. I believe in the power of prayer. (Numbers 6: 24-26)

  2. I love the bright and cheery colors in your carrot kitchen! The primary colors just pop and it is such a contrast to the pastels I normally associate with Easter. And do those little princesses just compliment the Easter pastels in the dining room or what? What joyful happy faces for the birthday party! So precious.
I am continuing to pray for Joe. The pictures did surprise me. On top of looking unwell, he looks miserable. I pray they find answers next week after his tests and that he is much more comfortable. I am so sorry your family is going through this.
