I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Pink Valentine's in the Dining Room

  Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge it......

Today, I am going to be sharing my Dining Room decorated with Valentine's ....

I keep up my Valentine's decorations until the last week of February because February is American Heart Month.....

While the Den was decorated for Winter and the Kitchen and Powder Room are decorated for Winter with a touch of Valentine's, the Dining Room and the Living Room are solely decorated for Valentine's......

The color theme for the Valentine's in the Dining Room is primarily pink and white with a bit of red thrown in......

I usually share the Dining Room in 2 posts but I am going to do it in 1 post so it will be rather long.....

Pull up a comfy chair and grab a nice cup of hot tea especially if you live in the colder states.....

We are having some of our coldest temp.'s of the Winter this coming weekend with low's in the single digits and wind chill factors taking it down below zero.......

And the possibility of a snow storm starting on Sunday evening.....

We will start the tour of the Dining Room with the buffet......

I have said it many times before and I will again.....

My Dining Room is my most Victorian looking room.....

I did do things a bit differently then in years past.....

I decided to leave the LED Branch Tree here in the Dining Room after Christmas instead of returning it to where it usually is in the Living Room......

I left the snow flakes that decorated it for Christmas on it and added some pink hearts.....

And a few Valentine's tags that I ordered a very long time ago on Ebay and made into ornaments by embellishing them......

A staple of Valentine's celebrations is usually baked goods and candy.....

And I have decorated the buffet with that theme in mind.....

I am really glad that I decided to keep the branch Tree here on the buffet for now.....

As in years past, I have displayed this large vintage Valentine's card that I found in my Neighbor Elly's home when cleaning it out for her sons after she passed away......

A candy dish filled with candy and Valentine's lollipop's......

On a cake pedestal.....

Faux pastries, a cute cherub that I like to think of as Cupid and another Vintage Valentine that was my neighbor Elly's.....

After seeing my good friend Anne Marie use some vintage Christmas cards in her displays this year, I remembered that I took a box home from Elly's that she had labeled "Vintage Cards"

I picked up a lot of decorating tips from Elly and also a love of vintage and antiques.....

My own family liked everything brand new and considered old things as just plain "Old"....

What a lovely Valentine!!!

A cupcake dish from The Christmas Tree Shop and heart boxes that I embellished.....

Since I took the original pictures for this post, I did a bit of crafting and you can see one of the wood hearts that I painted and added stickers from my stash to on top of another vintage Valentine......

On a shelf above the buffet......

2 more vintage Valentine's that were from Elly to her first husband and from him to her.....

Elly would be almost 100 years old now so I estimate these are over 70 years old......

The Wedding picture in the middle is of Joe's Maternal Grandparents....

My Dining Room furniture belonged to Joe's Grandmother Rose, pictured above......

This sweet red and white tiered serving dish was gifted to me by 2 of my friends.....

I used it in the Kitchen for Christmas as part of my Santa's Sweet Shop display on the desk area of the hutch......

You can see I have it loaded up with faux candies and pastries.......

Faux and real lollipops.....

Valentine's dishes filled with candy and another cupcake dish.....

One more "Cupid" kneeling on a mosaic heart box.....

A crocheted heart hangs from the handle on the drawer.....

Between the buffet and the hutch is a small curio......

On the shelf above the curio......

On top of the curio.......

My friend Anne Marie gifted me a few vintage Valentine's that were quite fragile and I lamented over how to display them without destroying them......

I have been going through and cleaning my Craft Room and I found these gold frame like Christmas cards........

The kind that you would put a picture inside of......

The vintage Valentine's fit perfectly inside of these gold framed cards......

A floral arrangement that I originally made for the Funeral basket in the Dining Room that I decorate for various Seasons and Holidays......

A "Cupid" card and a framed picture.......

The curio.......

2 of my Victorian dolls......

The top of the hutch......

Heart shaped box, a vintage Valentine postcard and a Valentine's bottle.....

In the center is a Wedding picture of my Paternal Grandparents......

Another heart shaped box, Valentine post card and another Valentine bottle......

Hanging on the window divider between the Dining Room and Living Room......

I left out the ornament wreath that I made.........

A cute Valentine's sign......

And a heart that I also made.......

An old Home Interiors picture on the soffit.......

In this corner is the 7 foot pencil Tree that will stay here until the end of February......

I stripped it down after Christmas to the lights, white garland and white baby's breath and added a set of pink rose lights.....

I redecorated the Tree for Valentine's in a pink and white color theme......

On the window divider on this side.......

On the side of the Tree....

On a pedestal is a compote filled with Sweetheart candy.......

As I mentioned, I have been straightening out and cleaning my Craft Room.....

I bought several packs of 2 cone like ornaments or tussie mussies at Dollar Tree several years ago and I decided to paint 3 of them pink......

I also made a few ornaments from white ceramic hearts that I bought at Michael's.......

I embellished them with stickers, wood hearts that I painted, trim, ribbon roses and bows......

Here are the tussie mussies on the Tree filled with white bridal flowers from my stash......

The Tree is decorated with ornaments that I have amassed over the years.....

And I also made a few of the ornaments ......

I will let the rest of the pictures of the Tree do the talking......

On the side of the Tree......

On a marble topped plant stand.....

A heart shaped candy box that I embellished sets inside a milk glass compote......

An embellished heart shaped box and another "Cupid'.....

The Home Interiors picture is called "May I Play"

I hung gold heart ornaments from the sconces......

The corner by the Kitchen......

The larger curio......

On top of the curio.....

More gold heart ornaments hung from the vintage scales.....

A heart and angel wings hung on the top of the curio.....

A heart pillow hangs from the valance on the faux window.....

On the side of the curio on a marble topped table, is the funeral basket that I decorate for every Holiday and Season............

I left the arrangement from Christmas in it and added pink sparkly branches and rose ribbon......

Another vintage Valentine that I placed in one of those gold frame cards.......

On the other side of the curio......

A heart box.......

 Victorian reproduction calling cards.....

I placed a pink mercury glass votive inside the vintage crystal compote......

And I decorated the chandy too.....

Heart ornaments and white lace ornaments....

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorated the Dining Room for Valentine's this year.....

In my next post, I will be sharing 2 of my red and gold Valentine's Tree in the Living Room......

And a few new ornaments that I made for them......
