Preparing For a Craft Fair and Hurricane Sandy!

 HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

I am wishing you  all a Happy Halloween a bit early in case I would lose power.......Even though we rarely do because of our underground electrical wiring but never say never......

Hurricane Sandy is heading our way.....

And I have been crafting up a storm.......

Probably a bad choice of words there....

Joe brought home, from our Storage Shed , all of my supplies for making Christmas Wreaths.  I bought a lot on Clearance last year after Christmas.

3 Tubs of Christmas Florals.....
14  15 inch wreaths and 5 24 inch wreaths and 3 really big wreaths....

A whole tub of ribbon.....
And so far, I have made 9 wreaths.....
Here is a closer look and please pardon the fact that they are all over my Living Room right now...

I am still going to make a few more...

The wreaths are something that I do because everyone likes wreaths but I mainly do Victorian style crafts....

This is everything I did since last weekend.....
 I embellished journals .....
 Photo albums....

Night lights and lavender scented soaps....
 A parasol and hangers.....
Boxes and the burgundy thing on the right is a photo album set....
I made Tea Cup  pin cushions.........

I also made a few of these Tussie Mussies....

And I do have 5 tubs of things left from last year.  Many items are tissue box covers and wastebaskets that look similar to these in different colors....

So by the time next Saturday comes, I will be in good shape for the Craft Fair.....

Joe also brought this home from our storage shed...

A new 6 ft. White Christmas tree that i bought for $12.00 in Wal Mart on clearance last year. As I have mentioned before, I usually have my upstairs decorated for Christmas by now but this year , that is not the case.

So this tree will have to wait until next week.....

It will most likely go in the Guest Room....
The leaves are almost all off our tress in the back......
Poor Joe racked up leaves 4 times yesterday because every time he thought he was finished, more fell.....
 None left on this tree....
And we are ready for Hurricane Sandy....

I am working tonight and Tuesday night and off until Saturday.  Yes, I will be going to work after the Craft Fair that I am doing...... And I will have to work 9 hours instead of 8 since we will be pushing our clocks back an hour on Saturday night.

I always say that I will sleep in my next life time!!!!

Hopefully, we will all ride out the storm safely......

Jim ( my son) and Danielle were supposed to be going to Atlantic City and stay at Ceasars for several nights but they were thankfully able to re- schedule their trip for later in the week.  Hopefully the broadwalk and casinos will survive the storm surge....

Schools are shut down and shopping centers are closing early here in preparation......

Joe is ever so glad that he is off tomorrow even though the Post Office may stop mail delivery and hopefully, I will not be evacuating my unit and my patients due to a near by creek that floods....

And the biggest concern here is the Susquehanna River which caused record breaking flooding last year at this time.....

But Sandy is definitely on her way here to Northeast Pa.

The storm clouds are looming....
I hope everyone who is going to be affected my Sandy will remain safe...... Wishing us all Good Luck in surviving Sandy..... My prayers are with all of you......

Hurricane Update 10/30- We made it through the storm.  Lost power for about 13 hours but that is it.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all that were affected by this terrible storm....

Halloween House Tour in 3 Different Views

Halloween is almost upon us and apparently so is Hurricane Sandy, at least for the eastern Sea board.

If computer models are right, Northeastern Pa. is in Sandy's direct line when it turns in westward  from the coast.
They are predicting wind and 4 - 10 inches of rain and hopefully, temps. will not be cold enough for snow BUT we did have the Halloween snow storm last year where my area got 9 inches of snow and the Pocono Mountains of Pa. got close to a foot of snow... Maybe snow would be better though.
Severe flooding and power outages will be the case if what they are predicting for my area holds true.... It was only a year ago in Sept. that the Susquehanna River overflowed it's banks and caused horrific flooding in this area.
So we shall see what Mother Nature has in store for us....

Since I posted my Halloween decorations a few weeks ago, I thought that since Halloween will soon be here ,I would do a little Halloween House Tour , showing you my decorations in 3 Views.

What am I talking about???

In  Sepia tone, Day Light and in Candle light !!

I must admit that the pictures taken in Sepia tone do have an eerie look!

So Let's start the Halloween House Tour.....

This is Minerva , the Skeleton Lady who lives in my Living Room and is ready to go to a Halloween Party!!....

And now we enter the Dining Room ....

My Witches Tea Table.....

And the Witch , herself.....

Her Cauldron.....

A Haunted House....

More Halloween decorations in the Dining Room.....

My Tea and Coffee Set.....

Rest in Piece.....

Halloween Tree and Village.....

Halloween Tree...

Halloween Village....

Chandy......

Another Haunted House.....

I forgot to take a picture of my Funeral Basket in Sepia tone.....

And Jack o' Lantern.....

And I want to close this year's chapter on Halloween with sharing a few new goodies...

I made some potion bottles with labels I printed out from a blog whose name now escapes. If anyone knows whose blog, please let me know so I can give them the credit they deserve...

See the Jekyll Brothers label that I Modge Podged to an old Bath Salts bottle....

I found this cute little guy at JoAnn's Fabric for 60 % off......
And I made this potion bottle using a gravy jar!!
I bought 2 pumpkins at the Dollar Tree and decided to spray paint them black and after a few light coats, I sprinkled glitter on the tops and it dried in place when the paint dried.

I added some lace, silver ribbon, beads and a ribbon flower to each.

I think I will stock up on these pumpkins .

I wonder if they will mark them 50 % off after Halloween???

I now have my Welcome Candles in my windows.....
The orange bulbs in my front porch light and lantern in the yard are CFL bulbs that now come in colors and I bought them at Lowe's.
We will be awaiting Trick or Treaters but we usually hardly get any and with the rain from  Hurricane Sandy that is predicted, I am thinking that there may not be a lot of kids out on Old Hallow's Eve in the North East.
But if they do venture out, my front porch will Welcome them......

So I do hope all of you have a spookilicious Halloween!!
