A Year on my Front Porch.....

I want to THANK Kathy over at A Delightsome Life for featuring my Preparing for a Craft Fair Post
from last week's Home and Garden Thursday Party!!

Once again, I am very honored and flattered!! Thanks so much , Kathy!

Please visit and maybe link up to Kathy's wonderful Home and Garden Thursday Party!!

I know I said I would not be posting as much because I am starting my Christmas decorating but I recently visited a post over at Cottage in the Oaks, titled  A Year of Front Porches .

I was so inspired by this post that I thought I would do a similar one of my own.

Joe and I will be decorating the front of our townhouse for Christmas on Monday as the temps. here will be back up into the high 50's again . It has been in the 30's and 40's for the past week so we thought we better take advantage of the warmer temps. here in Pa. coming next week.

So this is A Year on my Front Porch...

I don't have a front porch in the since of the way a single home has a front porch. Mine is connected to my next door neighbor's porch. But I do love and enjoy my porch and love to decorate it and the front of our townhouse for every Season and Holiday.

By the way, I made all the wreaths that you have seen in this post!

I hope you enjoyed seeing A Year on my Front Porch.

And now it starts all over again with Christmas decorating. This year, all the lights on our front porch will be energy efficient LED Warm White lights.

There may be a bit of snow on my Front Porch tonight as we have some snow predicted for today.....

I also want to let everyone know that I started a few boards on Pinterest. There is a button on my side bar if you would like to see my boards. BUT because of copyright and all kinds of legal issues, I am only going to be pinning pictures that I , myself, have taken on these boards. Unless you give me direct permission to pin your pictures on my boards. You are welcome to pin any images from my blogs as long as you link back to my blogs.

This is my most pinned image on Pinterest...
I took this picture in 2010 at one of my favorite places to visit at Christmas time, Country Folks Gift Store.
Last year, I did not get to visit there but this year, I plan on getting there if it kills me and I will share all the wonderful ideas that I see there with all of you...

On another note.....

I am so very glad that the Election is FINALLY over.  I don't talk politics on my blogs but I do want to mention that Joe is a die hard Republican where I am an Independent. I voted for both Democrats and Republicans in this election.

But I what I feel is important is to get out and VOTE and voice your opinion , no matter what it may be!

I will say just one thing about the outcome....

4 More Years!!!!

In saying this, I am sure you can only imagine what the last several months have been like in my house!!

LOL!!

Do You Want to Come along to a Craft Fair in Pa.?

Well, it is November and it definitely feels like winter here with high's in the high 30's and low 40's and snow predicted next week!!!!

I did my first of 2 Craft Fairs for the season on Saturday.

Last year, I did very well ( my second best in sales) at this Craft and Gift Fair that I have been a vendor at for several years now.  I also do all the advertising for the event.  But with many people just recently getting their power turned back on and many in our area having family and friends from N.J. and N.Y. staying with them that were affected by Hurricane Sandy, attendance was down a bit.  We were afraid that Hurricane Sandy would have an affect on our Craft Fair.

I did fairly well and I am very happy about that as other vendors did not sell too much.  I feel every Craft Fair you go to as a vendor is a Crap Shoot because you have no idea what people are looking for and how it is going to be attended and how they are going to spend their money.

I do not live in an affluent area and there is a large population of Senior Citizens in the region.  Many have told me that if I traveled to the Pocono's or south to the Allentown area, I would do much better but with working full time and every other weekend, this is something that I can not do. Plus, I need Joe to haul everything in and out and he only gets every 6th Saturday off as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office.

Since this is a hobby for me and gives me a bit of play money, I am always happy to make the cost of my space and a little extra. I did much more than that so all is good...

I took pictures of some of the vendors to give you a look at what people are selling here in North East Pa......

Enjoy.....

My friend and fellow member of my church, Rose Mary makes these incredible runner and placemats also. They are reversible and there is Fall or Halloween fabric on the back so you get 2 for the price of one!

This is Judy's Space , who is in charge of the event. Judy also works for the same Health Care System that I work for as a receptionist in the Heart Hospital.

Her things are amazing!

This is my space.  I do have a lot of things made but I wanted to have enough for my next Craft Fair that is a 2 day one held at my church. I may also be doing another small event in December so I wanted to be sure that I had enough things and I would not have to be making things each week.

I sold 5 wreaths and quite a  few other items so I felt it was worth it.

My next Craft Fair is in 2 weeks.....

I then came home, went to bed about 6:00 pm , got up at 9:30 pm and went to work.  AND while most of you got an extra hour of sleep from turning your clocks back, I got to stay at work for an extra hour. I think it is the psychological effect of looking at 2:00 am for 2 hours that makes that hour seem much longer than 60 minutes!!

I am now going to start taking down Fall and Halloween and start Christmas decorating.  I am behind as I last year I had my upstairs decorated for Christmas by October 31st. So I really have to get in gear and start moving...

That means I will not be posting too much until I do get the house decorated.  Now last year, I had a total of 17 trees in all shapes and sizes . If it had lights on it and was decorated in some fashion, I counted it.

I think that this year will be the year that I start to scale back a bit.

In other words, I am getting too old for this _  _  _  _ !!!

LOL!

So I may not post for a week or so but I will be back.......

And then once the house is decorated for Christmas, I will be mainly posting over on my Christmas Blog,
A Debbie-Dabble Christmas.  If you are not a follower of my Christmas Blog, I would be thrilled if you would sign up to follow that blog too!!
