I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....

I feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I was....

I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

 A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS

I enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my last post, I shared How I decorated the top and the inside of the China Cupboard in the Den for Saint Patrick's Day....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

I want to Thank all the hosts of the You're the Star month long linky party for choosing my Blog Post, Red Cardinals and Snowman for Winter in the Kitchen, as one of their features for Garden Week!!

Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....

On THURSDAYS, I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...

I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....

On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...

Today is MONDAY so I will be sharing a very small Dollar Tree Haul....

Everything I bought was $1.50 each....

These are fairly large fabric carrots.....

 One package of jute carrots....

And this salt and pepper shaker set was also only $1.50....

I will be honest in that one of my INTENTIONS for this year is not to spend money on anything that I do not need....

Unless I really can not live without it.....

I thought these items were cute and I am always looking for orange Easter decor for my Kitchen....

I honestly do not plan on buying anything else for Easter this year...

I am really trying to shop my own home this year....

HAPPY MARCH!!!

March does not really mean Spring here in NEPA as some of our best snow storms and blizzards came in March....

April is honestly the start of Spring here even though we still can get snow in April so we will see how it will go this year....

Today, I will be sharing the area around the China Cupboard decorated for St. Patrick's Day....

Before I start, I thought I would tell you about this piece that a neighbor was going to throw out but asked me if I wanted it and of course, I said YES!!!!

This is what it looked like when I first styled it for Christmas as she gave it to me in November....

The following Spring, I decided to refinish it to match 2 end tables that my late husband, Joe, bought at a church Flea Market that was being held at his family's church as it was closing...

I used antique white paint in my stash and then rubbed a wood stain over it....

I also installed battery operated puck lights above each shelf....

As I mentioned in my previous post, I used my vintage Old Curiosity Shop dishes and some vintage green
 Depression Glass pieces....

We will start here on the left side of the China Cupboard on a small round table....

My late friend Anne Marie gifted me this antique green funeral basket.....

I tied a bow made from green and white deco mesh ribbon to the handle and also wrapped a set of battery operated fairy lights around the handle....

Years ago, I made an arrangement of green and white St. Patrick's Day carnations from Dollar Tree, four leaf clover bushes, gold coin and a Leprechaun hat pick and some eucalyptus branches.....

On the table....

My friend Anne Marie gifted me several antique St. Patrick's Day postcards over the years....

It is actually a Birthday card with a four leaf clover....

It looks like this one is postmarked 09, meaning 1909.....

Another one that I used on the table....

The back....

 Postmark is 1919....

The card is one I received from her....

The hats are from Dollar Tree....

I placed a St. Patrick's Day dish towel over the burgundy and blue plaid wing chair.....

Joe gifted me this sweet Irish Lassie who sings "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" when you press that red button on her paw.....

I placed a candlestick, that matches the one on top of the China Cupboard, next to the chair....

The candle is battery operated and has a timer so it stays on for 6 hours in te evening....

I have 2 vintage suitcases in front and sort of under the China Cupboard that I use for display....

The top one was purchased at a yard sale for a BUCK and the bottom one belonged to my Mother ....

She stored old photo albums and loose pictures in it....

On the top suitcase....

The large vintage style St. Patrick's cards came from Michael's.....

The ornament came from Micheal's too..

I mentioned in my previous post that I used a lot of ornaments that I had for a larger Tree that I used to decorate for the Holiday....

The tea cup and saucer are yard sale finds....

The tea cup is Lefton....

And this is the marking on the saucer, which I bought for 25 cents at a yard sale....

The Leprechaun figurine was gifted to me by my Mother....

The bear was part of my late neighbor Elly's Teddy Bear Collection....

And the pot of gold is an ornament....

Another one of those vintage styled cards....

I used 2 green mercury glass trees that I left out after Christmas....

On top of the top suitcase is a book box....

That I placed a pedestal on top of....

A vintage green depression glass bowl....

2 years ago, I made this Leprechaun hat planter out of clay pots that I had....

This year, I placed it inside of the bowl.....

The arrangement is similar to the one inside of the funeral basket.....

I love the gold border on the green depression glass bowl....

Dollar Tree items....

The bottom suitcase......

More antique postcards...

1914 postmark on this one...

2 years ago, I had gold Christmas photo cards, that I bought after Christmas one year on clearance in Target

I then used up the green glittered peel and stick tape that I had in my stash, forming a border.....

Next I glued 2 gold coins to each one....

The post cards can still be taken out so no damage was done to either card, protecting the cards....

Another Old Curiosity Shop plate.....

The ornament was purchased at a yard sale and the tea pot ornaments are from The Christmas Tree Shop....

On the handle.....

 Is the last postcard.....

This is the post card that made me think of using the Old Curiosity Shop dishes in this display other than the fact that they are green!!

Sort of looks like the picture on the dinner plates.....

There was a stamp over the postmark which is ripped off so I can not see the date on this one...

The other postcard....

In front of the suitcases are a pair of wooden bookends....

And this is where I will leave off for today.....

I hope you have been enjoyed seeing how I used a minimal amount of actual St. Patrick's Day decor with vintage dishes and antique postcards when decorating for St. Patrick's Day this year....
