DEBBIE-DABBLE BLOG: Saint Patrick's Day Tree, 2026

I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Saint Patrick's Day Tree, 2026

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....

I feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I was....

I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....

On THURSDAYS, I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...

I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....

On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...

With today being Thursday, it is time to share some food....

For 3 more weeks, I will be getting potato pancakes from my Church every Friday.....

NEPA is abundant with Lenten Food sales, mostly from our Eastern European heritage as many immigrants settled here in the early 1900's to work in the coal mines....

Besides all the terrific pizza options in this area, along with Fire Company Fish Fries, many churches are selling pierogies, haluski, potato pancakes and.....

Pagash!!!

Many of the local pizzeria's (and we do have quite a lot of them throughout NEPA) have a form of Pagash pizza....

Which looks like these.....

And can also look like this....

But this is more what traditional Polish Pagash looks like......

Now I am sure many of you are asking, "What the heck is Pagash?"

As per AI Review on Google.....

"Pagash (or pagach) is a savory baked dish of Slavic origin, popular in Pennsylvania, made from a bread dough filled with mashed potatoes, cheese, and often sautéed onions, sometimes with cabbage. I picked up this scrumptious pie from a local Italian, yes Italian, Eatery, Leggio's....

It was loaded with the potatoes, fried onions and cheese....

My son Joey does not like it, as he also does not care for pierogies, so I sent some to my son Jim and DIL Danielle, and froze some slices...

Joey does love the potato pancakes though....

I do have to find where I can get me some tasty Haluski ( cabbage and noddles)...

A few weeks ago, I lost my family ring with our 4 birthstones and names engraved on it...

A gift from Joe...

I usually wear it on my middle finger like this when I go out...

Yes, I looked everywhere but I feared it had come off when I took a pair of gloves off after serving food at my church's family breakfast.

I always say that I inherited my mother's sixth sense.

On Tuesday, on Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly and a guest were talking about how both of them lost their wedding bands and found them in the most unlikely place. I sat there thinking" I am going to find my ring"...

2 hours later, I was going through 2 tote bags I have for the senior social group and the community group that I belong to at church...

There, on the bottom of the one bags, was MY RING!!!!

On the right....Peridot....Joe, born in August, Blue Topaz.....Jimmy, born in December

On the left ....Blue Topaz.....Joey, born in December, Garnet.....Debbie, born in January

First, I laughed and then I cried because I was so happy that I found it..

More sentimental value than monetary value....

I have been thinking of having the twins names engraved after Joey and Jimmy's names as their birthdays are also in December.....

Today, I am finishing up my series on my Saint Patrick's Day decor in the Den with a Saint Patrick's Day Tree..........

Many years ago, before I used to decorate my Den for Winter, I would change over the 4 ft. Tree in the Den that I put up for Christmas to a Saint Patrick's Day Tree.

I did this for a few years and then I decided to decorate the Den for Winter right after Christmas.....

So I used some of the ornaments on this Victorian feather Tree.....

And also used the ornaments for decorations in the China Cupboard and on this Tree.....

Which is a seasonal Tree that stays up year round......

I only decorate this Tree for Saint Patrick's Day now...

A few years back, I changed this Tree topper that I bought after Christmas on clearance in Big Lot's........

Into this for Saint Patrick's Day....

And I added some of that green glitter peel and stick tape...

This year, I tucked 2 eucalyptus branches into the top of the Tree.....

Used a bow I made many years ago from white and green deco mesh ribbon......

And added more florals, that I used for Christmas and Winter on this Tree, to the back behind the topper...

I used some plain green ornaments in different shades of green....

Next was some vintage styles card ornaments from Michael's....

Some Shamrock ornaments.....

I actually skipped decorating for St. Patrick's Day last year and was seriously considering passing these decorations on but I am glad that I decided not to do so and I believe that I will continue to decorate for Saint Patrick's Day.....

I am decorating with INTENTION this year, taking my time, thinking things through and trying to do things a bit differently...

What I mean by that is that I am planning, imagining things in a different way and trying to use what I already have ...

For many years, I used these sparkly white Baby's Breath picks only on My Dining Room Tree for Christmas....

I decided not to use them when I decorated the same Tree for Heart Month with Valentine's decorations....

Which then made me think....."Why do I only have to use them for Winter decor?"

Funny how you think about using items that you buy as Christmas decor as only Christmas decor and not for other times of the year....

So.......

I decided to tuck them into this Tree as part of the St. Patrick's Day decor.....

I will be leaving them out and plan to use them maybe for my Patriotic Tree in the Living Room.....

Back to the St. Patrick's Day Tree......

I also tucked some white St. Patrick's Day carnations from Dollar Tree into the Tree.....

I am happy with how the Tree looks for this year...

Next to the Tree.....

I filled a crock with some faux greenery, including some green carnations....

I had emptied the left over wax out of this green candle ja,r which once held a candle, and placed a battery operated votive candle in it.....

I placed a leprechaun hat on top of the arrangement....

Since it is now March, I changed my Thomas Kinkade calendar....

Replacing February's plate with the March one.....

And that finishes up my Saint Patrick's Day decorations for this year....

I will be leaving this up until the last week of March when I will be changing the entire Den, which is still decorated for Winter, over to it's normal Americana decor for Spring, Summer and most of Fall....

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I used things I had along with some vintage and antique pieces, like dishes and postcards, when decorating for Saint Patrick's Day........
