-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In my last post, I shared the last of my Coastal/Nautical decor for Late Summer in the Living Room....
Click HERE if you missed that post!!
Today, I am going to share more of the Living Room decorated for Late Summer.....
To the left when you walk into the Living Room......
Before I share Joe's Great Grandmother's Hutch, I want to share a project that I recently did....
When you walk in the front door, I have an area of imported Italian tile that I call the foyer...
The grout has taken quite a lot of abuse as this is the only entrance into our house.....
Even though I put rugs down in the Winter to try to protect it from the snow and ice in the Winter, the grout had gotten pretty dirty and no matter what I did, I could not get it clean with vinegar water or ammonia and water which is what I usually use for cleaning....
So I decided to use Clorox Clean Up on the grout and I have to say that it worked wonders as you can see in these pictures.....
The grout is now almost back to the tan/peach color that it originally was.....
I am very pleased with how it came out....
Now back to the Hutch.....
The Hutch was decorated for Joe's Homecoming with Angels.....
I did switch out a few pieces for some Herringbone depression glass and a Vintage aqua colored glass decanter and glasses.....
The top of the Hutch......
I added Butterflies that Joe bought......
The top shelf....
I kept the Cross given to us at Joe's Funeral service and Joe's prayer card on top of the mantel clock that holds Joe's ashes......
I feel he is always watching over us....
The middle shelf.....
The bottom shelf.....
The white and gold Angels were sets of 2 bought at Sam's Club over 20 years ago and made by Grandeur Noel which is now out of business.....
I did decorate a small area in the hallway......
A friend gifted me this picture that she painted......
A wreath that I made.....
A Dollar Tree sign that I embellished a bit.......
Back into the Living Room, the stereo table.......
This is what my tables in the Living Room look like normally......
Meaning devoid of Holiday decor.....
And decorated in my Victorian style....
With some vintage items....
Some antiques.....
And a lot of Thrifted items.....
My maternal Grandmother is the one of the far left....
Many gifted items....
I found this picture in my Mother's photos but I have no idea who they are......
This dapper gentleman is one of my"Instant Relatives", meaning a picture I bought or one I ran off from the computer.....
I bought the Nostalgic stereo system at Big Lot's and Joe found the vintage table/cart ( it has wheels) at a local antique Co Op......
The large round table in the corner by the Dining Room.......
On the wall.....
I brought out some of my Classic Books collection to use in decor this Summer since decorating with books is now a big thing!!!
I bought this Collection in Barnes & Nobles many years ago.....
A lot of thrifted items.....
See my new Lenox Victorian Lady figurine that I recently bought at a church flea market......
The clock was gifted to my MIL as a Retirement gift and she gave it to me as she was afraid her daughters would sell it and she knew I would keep it....
On the other side of the wall......
Brass candlesticks with cherub faces on them bought a LONG time ago in Service Merchandise.....
Anyone remember that store????
The vintage 3 tiered table by the TV Entertainment Center....
Joe gifted me this lamp that he bought in J C Penney's....
MIMI ornaments gifted to me by my son Jim and DIL Danielle.....
More "Instant Relatives"
A picture of my Dad taken at Harvey's Lake here in NEPA.....
The small round table on the other side of the TV Entertainment Center....
Joe also bought this lamp that he gifted to me in J C Penney's.....
A Thomas Kinkade Victorian Lady....
A vintage flea market find which I now see many retail online stores selling different versions of....
On a marble topped stand by the front door....
I bought the peach vintage bowl and pitcher at an Estate Sale for $10....
And now, that completes the Tour of how my Living Room is decorated for Late Summer......
It will stay this way until after Labor Day when I start the huge change over to Fall......
In my next post on THURSDAY, I will be sharing my Pink and Black Powder Room.....

Your living room looks great, Debbie. I'm on blog break and not replying directly to comments for a few days but I just wanted to give you a cyber hug. You'd said it was a bad week. I know those and my heart goes out to you.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see that you are still enjoying your decorating Debbie. I was thinking about you just the other day and wondering how you are getting on. It's beautiful to see how you are incorporating memories from your Joe throughout too.
ReplyDeleteLovely hutch you have, it's beautiful
