I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

God took my dear friend, Anne Marie, home to Heaven on Sunday......

Heaven gained another Angel....

She put up a good fight but it was a fight that she could not win....

I want to Thank Barb, over at the French Ethereal, for choosing my post, 2 Winter Wonderland Trees in the Den, as one of her features from last week's Share Your Style Linky Party!!

I want to especially THANK YOU Barb for these kind words....

"I shared this photograph, in particular, for the message of love in this special piece of jewelry made with its Valentine’s heart and wedding ring from our friend Debbie from Debbie-Dabble Blog.
Please visit Debbie and show her some love as this was a really tough first holiday season without her sweet husband Joe. Debbie shares a wintertime post from her home in Pennsylvania ~
Two Winter Wonderland Trees in the Den, Part 2, 2025. Thank you for this, from the bottom of my heart! "

Please stop by and link up to this lovely party....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

Well, with the passing of my dear friend Anne Marie, whose beautiful home and antiques that I featured many times here on my blog, I really have been having a hard time getting anything done this week....

Never did I imagine that both Joe and Anne Marie would be gone in less than a year from each other...

I was just starting to feel better after getting through the first Christmas without my husband Joe , who passed away last April....

I knew and was waiting for Anne Marie's passing for quite some time but when her husband called me on Monday morning to tell me she was gone, it definitely took the wind right out of my sails....

You think you are prepared for it and then in an instant, you realize that you are definitely not ready for it...

If anyone would like to see Anne Marie's obituary, please click HERE....

I made a version of Campbell's Soup 15 minute rice dish but you add a bag of cheddar cheese and bake it...

Original recipe calls for broccoli but since we do not eat broccoli, I added a can of mushrooms instead...

My son Joey devoured 2 bowls so no left overs....Yeah!!

Made the second recipe at the bottom of the page using cooked rice...

Instead of topping it with bread crumbs, I used paprika....

I was able to check off another goal on my January list....

Change over Kitchen to Winter with a touch of Valentine's- FINISHED....

I will continue this tour of my Kitchen, decorated for Winter, here at the stove which is where I left off in my last post....

I hung a picture of a calendar picture that I framed....

I kept out this beautiful snowman plaque that my friend Angela gifted me....

Winter towels....

The small counter space on the side of the stove....

A snowman candle...

We removed the Kitchen window when my Dad made an enclosed patio off the back of our townhouse into another room, the Den...

I still treat it as a window....

A Winter swag I made hangs above the sign.....

I switched out the Christmas valance for a Winter plaid valance that I made out of a tablecloth....

I hung bird houses on each side from the fretwork....

I hung snowflakes and hearts from the valance.....

I hung hearts and red cardinal ornaments from the tea cup chandy that I made....

I left up the Hot Cocoa signs on each side of the cabinets after Christmas....

The window sill....

Joe bought these trees on Clearance last year in Big Lot's....

A Jim Shore Angel holding a red cardinal....

And a snowman holding a heart....

In the evening....

Valentine's towels and a snowman oven mitt hangs from the knobs of the cabinets...

In the corner....

I switched out the big mouth Santa candy jar for a snowman one....

I put 2 red cardinals and a pail of snowballs inside of it....

In the evening....

I will be sharing my Winter Beverage Bar in Saturday's post....

On top of the fridge....

Snowmen and red cardinals....

My dear friend Anne Marie gifted me this beautiful large snowman.....

I placed a red cardinal in his hand....

Red cardinals hanging from the lamp shade and in a bird's nest....

And this is where I will leave off for today....

In my next post on SATURDAY, I will finish my Tour of the Kitchen decorated for Winter and will be sharing the Beverage Bar and the Counter Bar.....
