Last week was the last Friday for the Amish Farmer setting up a stand at the Mall by me so we stocked up on his fresh cheeses....
Cheddar & Bacon Cheese which I cut in smaller pieces and freeze....
And cheese curds and fresh butter.....
All so good....
We had temps. in the 70's for high's last week, which were unseasonably warm, but this week we will be in the 40's for high's with lows in the 30's....
Because of this, I decided to pull out all the remaining annuals in the front yard and replace some of them with some greenery that I cut from the side of our road....
I used a lot of the greenery to fill the pots on the small retaining wall on the side of the flower bed under the Living Room window....
In the flower bed in front of the house on top of the slope....
I added the Halloween sign and a gourde to this pot along with 2 pieces of greenery on each side......
Greenery in the red watering can....
The park bench....
I placed a white pumpkin in this pot....
And I put greenery in this pot.....
And I placed this pumpkin in this pot on the front porch.....
I also took the pots that I did not want out in the front for the Winter out to the back yard.....
I usually take down these decorations right after Halloween and decorate the front of the house for Christmas before it gets too cold....
But I will be holding off on doing any outside Christmas decorating because we should be having a new roof put on in the second week of November....
I will take down and pack away all my Falloween outside decorations though and maybe fill more pots with greenery for the Winter.....
I moved all the pots that I took from the front to the back for the Winter here....
I stacked the furniture and the pots against the back of the house....
We then covered everything with tarps and covers....
I
also put all the garden tools in our shed in the back of the yard and
got out the snow shovels, ice picks and car brooms in preparation for
the Winter......
We may see our first snowflakes of the Season this week......
That
day was a beautiful day so after working outside in the morning, I
decided to take the rest of the afternoon off and spent it relaxing on
the front porch, enjoying the Fall Foliage around us.....
You could see what is on my mind...
Our Fall Foliage is just about finished for the Season after the wind and the rain this weekend....
Last week, I took pictures of some of the Trees by us before they lost their leaves.....
The tree across the Court from us....
On the side of our road....
In the Fall, there is a period of time that lasts about 10 minutes when the setting Sun hits the Trees here by our house that makes them look as if they are on fire......
The tree across the Court from us....
This always amazes me to see this because no matter what colors the trees actually are, they all look bright reddish orange.......
It was still nice on Saturday so we decided to use the blower/vacuum that Joe bought over a year ago to clean up some of the leaves in our back yard.....
Here is Joe using it as a blower.....
You can see I am wearing clothes that are 2 sizes too big on me for my work clothes.....
I will be getting rid of them as it gets colder as I wore them around the house in the Summer....
The vacuum cleaned up the back yard nicely......
And it saved our backs from all the raking, sweeping and bending over to pick the leaves up and bag them....
Even though we have two trees in our yard that loses it's leaves, we seem to still get all the leaves from the trees behind us from everyone else's yard...
We will be cleaning up the yard from leaves until about the 3rd week of November.......
I still need to clean up the potting stand but will wait to cover it up for the Winter until the roof is replaced in case they need access to the lower roof from our back yard...
This area will stay like this for the Winter as our son Joey is still smoking even though he has cut his smoking in half already....
He hopes to quit by the new year.....
I hope he does too....
So we are pretty much ready for Winter in the back of our townhouse!!
I don't usually share Sunrises because I am not one to go out on the front porch in the morning in my robe to take pictures but I did the other day.......
The Sun rises over the woods on the side of our development.....
I loved how the colors carried over to the other side where the Sun sets.....
Whether or not we will get any Trick or Treaters this year remains to be seen.....
We had one last year....
Long gone are the days when we at least got around 30+ when our sons were young...
And I am so grateful that they enjoyed going Trick or Treating in our neighborhood when they were young with me taking them around and later with friends when they were older.....
They both still talk and laugh about those escapades!!!
I had a great time decorating for Falloween this year as I let my imagination guide me this year as you can see in my Falloween Home Tour!!!!
And that about ends it for awhile here on this blog, Debbie-Dabble Blog......
I will be posting regularly over on my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas,
staring on WEDNESDAY.....
I will have another Christmas Haul to share along with some Christmas crafting.....
So I hope you will stop by to visit again on WEDNESDAY
over on A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

Gosh, your trees are just lovely. We haven't had a lot of color this year. Mostly yellows again. Looks like you got a good start on the yard clean up.
ReplyDeleteYour red tree is a dazzler! Wow! And I love buying the large-sized blocks of cheese and doing as you do. It just makes sense and more economical. Well, we're into November now. Haven't seen greens yet but I'm sure it will be soon!
ReplyDeleteOh wow; those red leaves are just so vibrant and eye-catching!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely amazing fall colors, love those red leaves. They're spectacular

HI Debbie, love the fresh greens to transition to November and fresh Christmas smells!
ReplyDeleteThose trees are absolutely gorgeous! It seems like once the leaves turn color they fall off the next day. I love everything about fall and wish it would last a little bit longer :) Thanks for sharing with us at the Senior Salon Pit Stop link party
