I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Summer "Treat" Tree, 2019

  Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

In my last post, I shared how I made these Bird's Nest Tea Cups......
Click HERE if you missed that post.....

I made them as ornaments for my Summer "Treat" Tree......

But before I share the Tree with you, I want to Thank these hosts who featured my post, An "Elegant Lady" Powder Room!!

Thanks to Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for choosing it as one of her features from Thursday Favorite Things Party!

And Thanks to Amber, over at Follow The Yellow Brick Home, for choosing it as a Bonus feature also from last week's Thursday Favorite Things party!!
Thanks so much, Bev and Amber!!!

Please stop by and visit this lovely party!!!

If you have visited here before, you know that I keep up and decorate several Trees for the different Seasons and Holidays of the year.....

One of those Trees is in my Craft Room......

This is how this 6 foot slim Tree that I bought at a yard sale looked decorated for Christmas......

I stripped the Tree down, leaving the beaded garlands still on it......
The Tree is also wrapped in a shimmery pink ribbon.......
I changed the bow at the top of the Tree to one made out of a pink ribbon.....
 Added a few flowers.......
 And kept the white feathers.......

I then took one pink and one green branch garland and wrapped them around the Tree......
Pulling the branches out so it looks like branches growing out of the Tree......
Next, I took the pink roses that once fit over a light set that died and simply popped them on to some of the lights that were already on the Tree....

After all, what grows in the Summer???????
Roses!!
I then started to add ornaments that remind me of Summer........

Like Ice Cream Cones........
And ornaments that look sort of like ice cream cones......
Popsicles.....
Even an Ice Cream Sundae!!!!
A Bouquet of Roses.......
A Bird House......
An ornament from Washington , DC, depicting the Cherry Blossom Festival,  that Joe bought for me when he and the boys went on a bus trip there....

Ornaments that I made with Victorian Ladies with pretty hats ......
I think of Garden Tea Parties being held in the Summer so I have added a few tea pot, tea cup and pitcher ornaments.......
And 2 special Tea Pot ornaments.......

One with a photo of my Dad holding my oldest son, Joey........
And another one with my Dad holding Jimmy, my youngest son.....
And a cute mouse taking a bath in a tea cup.....
A sweet little fairy holding a box of chocolates.......
When you have a tea party, you serve Baked Goods!!!!!

Like Cupcakes!!!

I then added another sure sign of Summer.......

Butterflies!!!

A large white one at the top of the Tree....
Pink and green ones!!

Small ones......
And large ones......
And a few birds......
Along with my bird's nest tea cups!!
Next I tucked some large pink roses into the Tree......
And here is what My Summer "Treat" Tree looks like all decked out!!!!
A closer look.......
This Tree will stay like this until October when I decorate the upstairs for Christmas......
I love sitting at my craft table with the lights of this Tree on......
I hope you enjoyed seeing my Summer "Treat" Tree....

In my next post, I will be sharing a few Glimpses of past Easter decorations since I am not able to decorate for Easter this year.....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  2. Oh my goodness, Debbie, such a fun little tree full of treats and sweets! Love all the little treasures - each one so special, especially the teapot photo frames of your Dad with the grands. Hope you have a good weekend and that spring is knocking on your door. Hugs xo Karen

  4. Only you can take Christmas tree decorations to a whole new level Debbie. How beautiful. I'm so grateful that you share so many photos. I scrolled up and down and up and down again, just in case I missed something. Those tea cup bird's nests are so precious and the piccy of your Dad with the kids is very special. I hope you're enjoying the weather and that your knee is doing okay too. Have a blessed week.
