Easter at Nelson Crest, 2019

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Even though I was not able to decorate my house for Easter this year because of my upcoming surgery, I did get to decorate my other house for Easter.......
The outside of Nelson Crest, my Victorian Doll House is all decked out for Easter!!!

But first, I want to Thank Ann, over at The Applestreet Cottage, for featuring my post, A Tale of 2 Boards, from last week's Party in Your PJ's Party!!
Thanks so much, Ann!!!

I also want to Thank Jennifer, over at Life Tales and Books, for featuring my post, Kitchen Rooster Art, from last week's Heart and Soul Link Up Party!!
Thanks again, Jennifer!!!

Please stop by and link up to this charming parties!!!
I could not resist decorating the outside of Nelson Crest for Easter!!!

I had to have some Easter decorations in the house after all!!!!

It pretty much has not changed much since what I did last year but maybe some of you did not see last year's post......

The Easter decorations, that were bought over a few years, are all from Micheal's and are part of the Lemax Easter Village Collections.......

I am going to let the pictures do the talking in this post!!!

Enjoy!!
I hope you enjoyed seeing Nelson Crest all decked out for Spring and Easter!!!!

We have had some nice weather lately with temps. in the high 60's and low 70's!!!

However, we had some powerful storms move through the area on Sunday night into Monday morning and there were actually 5 tornado's that touched down and caused damage in our area including one in the city of Scranton!!!

We had no damage but we are expected to have more crazy weather on Friday night again!!!!

We NEVER had tornado's here in NEPA before!!!

We are finally seeing the first signs of Spring here!!

These are the Forsythias in my neighbor's yard!!!!
They are the first to bloom around here!!!

The warm weather enabled Joe to do some yard work in the front of the house and bring all the things for the front porch home from the shed.......

So I am happy to say that except for planting my annuals in my pots, which I have cut back on this year, the front porch and yard are ready for the Summer!!!!

I will be sharing more of our front porch and yard in future posts......

We also started to work out in the back but that is a work in progress!!!

With my surgery less than 2 weeks away, I feel I am in "Nesting Mode"...

Like women get when they are pregnant and about to deliver!!!!

" This urge to clean and organize is known as nesting. Nesting during pregnancy is the overwhelming desire to get your home ready for your new baby. The nesting instinct is strongest in the later weeks coming up on delivery."

I feel like I have to get my home ready before my surgery so I have been changing out Winter clothes for Summer ones and organizing and cleaning closets as I go......

Working on the yard, porch and patio as best as I can......

Cleaning and straightening the house.......

Next week, I want to at least take down all my lace curtains, clean the windows and get our air conditioners in......

And I will be getting the downstairs ready for me to stay in the Living Room at night at least for a week or so.......

Joe will be taking the week of my surgery off but I am sure that I will be ready for him to go back to work the following week as he tends to hover!!!

I have been dabbling a bit in the Kitchen and will be sharing a few small projects in my next post......

Like a upcycled sign.....
 Painted milk bottles.....
 And a repurposed crate!!
And an embroidered table topper cut in half and made into a valance.......

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. Your dollhouse is adorable and I love the wheelbarrow! Did you paint the milk bottles or buy them like that? It's all very cute. The bushes are way ahead of ours here. It's still pretty cold and rainy this week. We have had one tornado here on PEI that I'm aware of and I lived through it. One of the scariest times of my life and I was seven months pregnant at the time too. Have fun dabbling, but not too much. Happy Easter to you and your loved ones! Hugs!

  4. Hello Debbie! I really enjoyed your last post. I am amazed how good she is your disposition (despite her health problems) to make so many decorations. Continue and may God allow everything to go well and quickly with the recovery of your surgery.
Your dollhouse is beautiful !! I also have one and I love decorating it.
How nice to be sitting on your porch in front of the house!
You know I live on a 6th floor near Lisbon, with a fabulous view of the Tagus River, watching the cruise ships that come in and out of the port of Lisbon. But I also have a villa next to a beach in the south of Portugal, in the Algarve and also the view over the sea is spectacular.
I wish for a Holy Easter and fast improvements!

  7. Hover is the right word. Steve did the same thing. Well you sure are getting things in order. I did more cleaning and organizing before my surgery than I did in a great while.
Nelson Crest looks very festive and so ready for the bunny.
    Happy Easter

  11. Hi Debbie! So sorry it has been so long since I've stopped by. I do hope all goes well with your surgery. Your dollhouse is SO cute. I love that wheel barrow and all of those bunnies! I'll stop back again! We've been up to our ears in projects for our store but that is the same as usual. At least we made it to our 3 year store anniversary! Yay!

  12. Your doll house is amazing, Debbie! I went back through the pics twice and saw something new in each one. I understand the 'nesting', but, don't worry too much. Things always seen to get done. Thank you for sharing at Party In Your PJs!
