I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....

I feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I was....

I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

 A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS

I enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

In my last post, I shared my Family Memoria Day remembrance Dinner....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....

On THURSDAYS, I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...

I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....

On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...

Since it is SATURDAY, I want to share where I have been this week.....

My great niece Caitlin graduated from Luzerne County Community College on Thursday evening with an Associate Degree in Nursing....

Most of the college and high school graduations take place at the Arena, which is about only 5 minutes down the road from me....

After passing her boards, she has accepted a position in a Surgical Trauma ICU at a local Hospital...

She is enrolled in a joint program with King's College here and will be taking courses online and will then graduate next year, with her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from King's College...

We posed for a few pictures after the graduation......

Caitlin and her Mom Renae and her sister Carly.......

With her Grandmother, my sister Barb......

 With Barb and me.....

I am so proud of her and all she has accomplished......

I also want to share a few pictures of my great niece Carly going to her junior prom......

 Doesn't she look stunning????

With her boyfriend Luigi....

He came with her when they visited for Christmas....

He is a very nice boy.....

Today I will be sharing an update on my back yard......

You may remember that I bought this tray of 44 flowers for $ 24.13........

After I planted my pots in the front of the house, this is what I had left for the back yard....

Let me show you what I did with them......

I plan on planting Marigold seeds in the tiered pots from Dollar Tree...

But first let me share what is currently growing in these pots.....

Last Fall, I planted Missouri Primrose in this one as I was weeding out what was growing in the yard.....

I will probably transplant these by the end of the Summer somewhere......

I also transplanted Asters in this pot in the Fall.....

And I will also be transplanting them elsewhere.....

I did plant 2 Impatiens in this pot under the table....

I planted one Begonia in this pot....

Missouri Primrose, which will bloom in June, is growing here, along with a few Asters......

Missouri Primrose also planted in the planter in front of the pedestal....

I planted 3 Impatiens in this vintage watering can......

On the side of the arbor.....

A Columbine.....

I transplanted this Hosta in the pot in this vintage coal bucket last year....

Another Hosta that I transplanted from the front yard last year....

 Another transplanted Hosta.....

I planted 2 Impatiens in this planter by the back gate....

I hope to buy 2 more flats of ( 12) Impatiens and add 2 more to this one and remove the faux greenery in the planter behind it and plant some in that one......

In the flower bed between the walkways.....

 Hostas and Missouri primrose....

Another Hosta growing nicely in the pot in the chair.....

Autumn Sedum is growing in front it it.....

I planted 3 Impatiens in this watering can......

Two Lilies are growing in front of it and should be blooming soon.....

 Another Columbine.....

On the right side of the yard....

A Columbine and a Bonfire Spurge planted in the vintage galvanized tub....

A Hosta in this pot...

I planted 2 Impatiens in this watering can as the opening on top is smaller than the other 2 watering cans........

A Columbine blooming and a Lamb's Ear that I transplanted from the front yard in this pot....

I planted annuals in these 2 pots....

Two Begonias in this one....

And one Impatien in this small pot.....

Over on the end of the Patio by the potting stand, I transplanted another Hosta in this pot....

I have the "spikes" in it to try to stop squirrels from digging the plant out of the pot....

I hope to buy 2 more flats of annuals tomorrow....

I will do an UPDATE of where I plant them here.....

I hope you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY for my next post....

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  1. Good morning -- Congratulations to Caitlin. Carly looks lovely -- she and her boyfriend are a handsome couple. As always, your flowers are flourishing and look great. Hope the spikes keep the squirrels away -- they are cute little critters but so destructive. They shredded a canvas cover and side curtains on a gazebo in my backyard, and dug up daylilies almost as fast as I planted them. Enjoy your day.
