I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Winter Cardinal Tree & Holiday Harlequin in the Kitchen, 2026

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....

I feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I was....

I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

 A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS

I enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my last post, I shared my December and January Goals along with how I did with December's and how I am doing with January's....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

I want to Thank my Blogger friend from NJ, Andrea over The Cottage Market, for once again choosing one of my posts, A Blue Winter Wonderland with Heart in the Powder Room, as one of her features from last week's A Morning Cup of Joe Link Party!!

Thanks so much, Andrea!!

Please stop by and link up to this charming party!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....

On THURSDAYS, I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...

I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....

On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...

Since it is SATURDAY, What I Have Been Up to?

 Honestly, not much....

I really did not go out this week as I have been busy finishing up the Kitchen and started packing away Christmas in the Living Room....

I did go out to the grocery store to get a few things that I needed in preparation for the impending Snow Storm, that so much for the Country is in the path of....

This is what our ABC affiliate is showing in the way of snow totals....

And this is what our NBC affiliate is predicting....

So it seems like we can be getting anywhere from 8 to 16 inches of snow....

It was 1 degree here this morning!!

On top of all that snow, these are what our temp's are predicted to be for the next week!!

You can see that our average high at this time of year here in NEPA is 35....

I will let you know on MONDAY just how much snow we get as I have a snow board set up and ready to go in my back yard...

I did move my car out to the road so I will not have to worry about moving it when the plow comes to plow out our parking lot....

And since I have nowhere to go until Wednesday, for a hair cut, my car can stay out on the road....

Since we have no through traffic, as I live in a private development that is a dead end, there are no restrictions on parking on the road for snow storms....

My son Joey, who usually comes everyday for Dinner, will be staying home on Sunday and Monday until we are all plowed out...

I am sure he will not have work on Monday....

I will be working in my Living Room and Dining Room as I am going to be leaving out some Christmas decor that could be used for Winter decor...

I hope everyone in the path of this monster storm will stay safe and warm.....

I finished the Kitchen this past week and I am really happy with the changes I made and how it came out....

I decided to stay more with a Winter theme of Snowmen and Red Cardinals and throw in just a few hearts for Valentine's......

Today, I am continuing my Winter Decor Series and will be starting my tour of the Kitchen with this wall, which I always say serves no purpose other than for me to decorate....

To the left of the Hutch....

I did change out the Christmas aprons with a Valentine's one....

I took away the Christmas items on this shelf....

 And added a Red Cardinal....

And this cute little deer head....

On the side of the Hutch.....

A Red Cardinal sign and a "Let It Snow" sign....

Vintage rose pot holders and a Snowman plaque that I made....

The chalkboard......

2 Hot Cocoa signs, because it definitely is the season for Hot Cocoa....

I placed a red birdhouse in the milk crate....

 My Winter Kitchen Tree...

I topped the Tree off with a red berry stake and snow flake.....

I made the bow out of red plaid and Red Cardinal ribbons.....

The Tree is decorated with Red Cardinals....

 Bird houses.....

A few other birds....

 White icicles....

Red hearts.....

Hand made crocheted snowflakes.....

And red lanterns....

I tucked Buffalo Snow into the Tree....

A Snowman figurine.....

For Winter, I like to display my Holiday Harlequin dishes from Wegman's that my late husband Joe bought for me.... ...

Since I use a red and black plaid ribbon throughout the Kitchen for Winter, they work well with it because of the black and white chevron design on them....

I did the top of the Hutch a bit differently this year....

I decided to use these red ceramic trees here ....

With the Snowmen that I made a few years back....

And 2 Red Cardinals on each side of a Hot Chocolate sign....

I hung snowflake ornaments on each side....

On the top shelf....

I hung a red and black plaid bow and red jingle bells in the center....

This year, I moved the Snowman candle holders from on top of the Hutch onto the shelves....

The bottom shelf....

The other Snowman candle holder....

This is a slightly different arrangement than other years....

The desk area is decorated with Red Cardinals....

I decided to display this candle holder over here on the desk this year...

Instead of having to lift it up every time I want to turn the fairy lights inside of it on, I placed a battery operated candle that has a timer, inside of it....

I framed a picture from a calendar....

The Cardinal tea set also came from Wegman's....

I bought this mini Cardinal tea set at a church flea market....

I can't remember where I bought the Cardinal lantern....

The Red Cardinals to the left were inside of another snow globe that smashed.....

I used a pretty quilted bird place mat....

I also decorated underneath the desk area.....

I hung a heart from the drawer knob.....

On top of a vintage metal picnic basket, which I covered with another bird place mat....

The Hallmark Snowman tea pot was a gift from a friend...

A Snowman chopping board, that my nieces gifted me, and a vintage Lefton Red Cardinal creamer on the side of the lantern.........

A Snowman that I made from cans....

On the shelf to the right of the Hutch...

Added another Red Cardinal and deer head.....

 Hung another Valentine's apron.....

I used these penguin plates, that I have kept out after Christmas, along with a star that my nieces gifted me on this shelf above the doorway to the Den.....

I placed a small Red Cardinal in front of the star and hung a few ornaments from the shelf.....

A holly berry rug on the floor.....

And this is where I will leave off for today.....

Again, PLEASE STAY SAFE AND WARM this weekend if you are in the path of this monster storm.......

I hope you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY for my next post....

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!
