I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Winter Beverage Center & Snow Storm, 2026

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....

I feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I was....

I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

 A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS

I enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my last post, I shared How I decorated my Winter Kitchen Tree and Hutch this year....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....

On THURSDAYS, I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...

I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....

On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...

What I actually bought this past week was food in preparation for the Snow Storm that hit us yesterday....

I went to a local Grocery store, Malacari's, which is right down the road from me...

 NO!!

I did not buy milk nor eggs But I did buy bread.....

I do not normally buy those things and I bought bread because I bought lunch meat and cheese to have in case I would have lost power and could not cook...

I made sandwiches for Joey to take home as he did not come for Dinner yesterday and will not be coming today...

3 different types of lunch meat and cheese...

Nardone's Pizza is a NEPA staple......

These Bob Evan's sides were on sale for 3 for $10 which is a great price....

Noodles to go with the pot of chicken bone broth that I made....

Buns to have with.....

Pulled pork and chicken bites that I bought and had delivered from Sam's Club....

Those were my big Buys of the week.....

So now let's talk about the Snow Storm.....

This is what was predicted from 2 different local TV stations....

I set up a little make shift snow board in my back yard.....

And I got ready to go out and shovel about every 2 - 3 hours because waiting til the end of the storm to shovel that much snow at once is just asking for a heart attack or a back injury...

I got out my older boots as they went up higher on my legs in case we did get that much snow....

And attached a pair of snow cleats to the bottoms of them....

I went out to shovel 4 times during the storm with the last time being 7 pm at night yesterday and the 5th time being this morning to get my car dug out from the side of the road, where we all moved our cars so the plow truck could plow out all our parking spaces....

The above picture was taken about half way through the storm at about 5 inches....

As the snow started to pile up, I switched to a yard stick, just in case....

I got about 10 inches where other parts of NEPA got up to 16 inches of Snow....

Now I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to snow removal as I have been shoveling since I was 12 years old and took care of my parent's property after my Dad's construction accident.....

This is how the Squirrel Feeder ( if you have read my blog for awhile you know who I mean) did his sidewalk because I no longer do it for him....

 And this is my sidewalk.....

 Yep!!

Shovel end to end on the width of it, Ice melt put down and bare sidewalk showing!!

The plow truck plowed out our court at 8pm last night but it continued to snow so it was covered again in the morning and the plow truck was not coming back.....

I went out this morning, shoveled the area around my car so I could open the door and start the car up, putting the defrosters on high and cranked up the heat to the max.

I then went back up the parking lot to my parking spaces and shoveled them out, and put Ice Melt down...

Mr. Yueng, a neighbor from across the court for me, insisted on helping me shovel out my car...

It took about 3 good pushes of my snow broom and all the snow on the car just fell off....

I have a lot of experience getting my car out of being plowed in and it only took me 2 times in reverse and then forward to pull that baby out while my other neighbors were struggling for what seemed like hours to get their cars out....

By that time, the Ice Melt worked it's magic and I was able to shovel right down to the black top....

 These are my parking spaces....

Compared to all my neighbor's parking spaces.....

Mine was done better than the lane down the middle of our court.....

Maybe I should hire out??????

I had a lot of fun during this Snow Storm as I truly LOVE Snow and shoveling....

And now they say another one might be coming this weekend.....

Time will tell.......

And now we are in a deep freeze!!

Winter is far from over here in NEPA!!

So since I have not had a lot of time to work on a Blog post, I quickly threw together some pictures of my Winter Beverage Center to continue the tour of my Kitchen decorated for Winter in my Winter Decor Series.....

I tried to change it up a bit this year but in this limited space, it is not easy to do so......

On the cabinets above the Beverage Center....

A wreath I made a few years ago....

Sticking with the Snowman and Red Cardinal theme of the Kitchen for Winter, I hung pot holders from the cabinet handles......

I hung a Hot Cocoa sign.......

Placed a Sit, Sip and Enjoy wood sign in front of my coffee canister.....

Instant coffee is in the glass canister and coffee wafers are in the mug....

On the black shelf.....

My flavored tea bags are stored in the red enamelware container....

Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate packets.....

On the marble turntable.....

Which I placed on top of a quilted bird place mat.....

My flavored creamers and sweeteners stored in a Dollar Tree Snowman face mug and these 2 stunning snowman mugs which were gifted to me by my nieces......

On the side of the fridge, I hung a vinyl Dollar Tree place mat.....

I have marshmallows inside of the Hot Cocoa mug with the lid in the center....

Chocolate spoons and peppermint spoons in the snowman mugs....

Underneath the shelf are my Winter mugs that I use for my coffee in the mornings....

And that's my Winter Beverage Center....
