-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our
January thaw is over and we are looking at the possibility of a snow
storm on Thursday so I do hope to get some pictures of my outside Winter
decorations with some snow!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
I
made a London Broil on Sunday that I got on sale in Price Chopper for Buy
One, Get One Free...
I combined several recipes from Pinterest and made
up my own concoction of Cream of Mushroom Soup, Beef Broth,
Worcestershire Sauce, Recipe Secrets Savory Herb and Garlic soup mix,
onion and garlic powder, Italian Seasoning and pepper...
I seared the
London Broil on both sides before I threw it into the Crock Pot, poured
my concoction over it and cooked it on high for 5 hours before adding
2 cans of mushrooms and mixing cooked Minute Rice into it after taking
out the meat to cut up, which was so tender it fell apart...

Joey and I
both enjoyed it and I am not a steak eater...

Next time, I will cook the Minute Rise right in the crock pot as there was enough of the liquid concoction to do so...
I actually split the 2 large pieces of London Broil that I bought into 3 meal bags, which I got for a total of only $23 with the Buy One Get One Free Sale...
Today, I am continuing with my Winter/Valentine's Decor Series and will be sharing my Powder Room....
I usually share the Den first as it is decorated solely for Winter but I just finished it yesterday and have not really taken all the pictures for a blog post so I will come back to it later in the week....
This year, I hung this wreath that I made originally for the Den, on the Powder Room door...
A Dollar Tree sign in in the center of the wreath...
I hung these ice skates from Big Lot's from the wreath...
I hung a heart that I made above the door...

I leave a lot of the decorations in the Powder Room from Christmas up as I decorate with Snow Buddies in this room... ....
Click
HERE if you are interested in seeing what it looked like this year decorated for Christmas....
I replaced anything that was blatantly Christmas with Valentine's decor and pops of red...
This area is to the left when you walk into the room....
I added 2 red reindeer to this shelf....
This picture was a Home and Garden Party picture...
I disguised the Christmas saying on this Salvation Army plate with a Valentine's bow as I love the Winter scene on it.......
I left the area on top of the medicine cabinet as is...
The sink area...
A few penguins for my late husband Joe as he was an avid Pittsburgh and Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins fan...
These are Christmas cards that I placed in these silver frames...
I changed out a white tree for a red bottle brush one....
Otherwise, I left the shelves the same as they were for Christmas, again there are Penguins on this shelf wall unit for Joe......
The larger Snow Buddy to the right says "Penguin Hockey"
Added a Valentine's sign....
And 2 red paper doilies...
I changed out a silver mercury glass tree for "The Queen of Everything" Snow Buddy, that my late husband Joe bought for me, because that is what he called me...
The Queen of Everything...
I removed all the Christmas Snow Buddy ornaments from the Tree....
And replaced them with 3 large silver hearts....
And a few red and silver hearts...

Yes, the Tree is wired right onto the estagere...
With the blue and white battery operated lights on...
I kept the area under the Tree the same, except for a Snow Buddy that is apparently on vacation that says "Wis You Were Here"...
Changed out a white tree for another red bottle brush tree and added a snowman book box...
On the 3 tier shelf next to the estagere....
An Avon pitcher, with a beautiful Winter scene on it, with an arrangement of greenery and red roses...
And a heart box that I embellished....
A vintage milk glass bowl filled with ornaments and silver pine cones...
Replacing the grey ones for Winter...
On the left side of this wall shelf...
I added a red rose to the shelves on each side, keeping the silver mercury glass owls and blue bottle brush trees out....
And hung a mitten ornament from the shelf...
I added a heart ornament to the sconces...
Leaving everything else on them the same as it looked for Christmas...
I do love the pops of red....

All I added to the top of the shelf was a red paper heart doily, leaving my sledding Snow Buddies there...
I changed out the Snow Buddies that I had for Christmas for Valentine's
ones and the matching Avon tea pot to the pitcher that is on the 3
tiered shelf...
A Valentine's Snow Buddy Mail Man and one with a Valentine's letter pay homage to Joe's career as a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service....
More Valentine's Snow Buddies, a silver mercury glass heart and 2 red reindeer....
I also added red heart paper doilies to these shelves...
I left this framed Christmas card out...
On the right side of the wall shelf...
Same as on the other side....
Hanging above the closet that houses my washer and dryer....
Blue icicles, snowflakes and silver reindeer hanging from the evergreen swag......
And that is how my Powder Room with look until the end of February, which is Heart Month...
I hope you enjoyed seeing how you could leave up some items used in your Christmas decor for Winter and change it a bit by simply adding a few Valentine's pieces...

Good morning, Debbie -- Your powder room is so pretty -- lots to look at in there. The touches to honor Joe are heartwarming. The London broil and rice sounds delicious -- I'll give it a try. Crock pot meals are so easy to fix. Enjoy your day.
