Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....
I
feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin
Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

In my last post, I shared how I decorated my Beverage Bar area for Falloween....
How I decorated the top of the fridge in a Candy Corn theme...
And an amazing Sunset....
Click HERE if you missed that post!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
This past week was a busy one as I finished decorating the inside of the house for Fall and Halloween....
I also made a big pot of Beef Stew for Dinner on Thursday....
I do not add carrots as I got tired of watching my son, Joey, painstaking remove them all before he would eat this......
Joey took a container home and I also gave some to my DIL Danielle as she enjoys it but my son Jim does not....
I made a pot of turkey bone broth soup from the turkey breast I saved from a turkey dinner a few weeks ago...
Joey also took some home as he got his covid shot yesterday and anticipates being ill today from it today so he will have soup and stew to eat as he will not be coming over today since I will be volunteering at our Ministry Fair at my Church all weekend...
I will be manning the Community Group table, which will be right next to our new Senior Social Group's table, which will be manned by my good friend Rosemary...We have new people joining our parish every week and Father Alex thought this would be a great idea to inform everyone of all we have to offer in our Parish...
I am looking forward to spending time with friends and maybe meeting some new people...
I also bought 2 containers of Price Chopper's potato salad that were "Freshly Reduced"
They were half price so I got 2 for the price of one and as I always do, I doctored it up a bit by adding more celery, which I had from the soup, seasonings and a bit more mayo....
I could make my own but this is much easier and I really like how this one tastes...
Instead, I will be sharing how I decorated my Front Porch and Yard for Halloween...
I managed to finish it yesterday and took pictures so I had them readily available to do this post....
This is the 3rd year now that I have decorated the front for Halloween as I stopped doing so when my sons got older....
In 2023, my late husband Joe and my son Joey convinced me to decorate it for Halloween again as so many houses in NEPA are going all out and decorating for Halloween.....
I made a lot of the decorations and bought some at Dollar General and Dollar Tree, when they still had items for only $1.00!
And before I go any further.....
NO!
I DO NOT GET ANY TRICK OR TREATERS ANYMORE!!
I do it now in Joe's memory as he was alive for only the first year I did it and because Joey, who comes every day for dinner, enjoys it...
And hopefully, my twin granddaughters will love Halloween like their Mimi did as a child...
If it was up to Joey, I would have a 16 ft. tall skeleton in front of the house and the slope in front of my house would be a grave yard with tomb stones on it like I used to do when the boys were young!!
This is what my Front Porch looked like decorated for Fall, which I did right after Labor Day....
And this is how it now looks all decked out for Halloween!!
When I decorated for Fall, I put up my Christmas/Winter evergreen garland around the door and railing to use as a base for my Fall leaf garland....
I also left the white and black rug on the porch along with the chairs....
I did remove all of the faux flowers that I bought in the Spring and used all Summer...
I packed each arrangement I did in each pot into a bag and stored them in a tub for next year...
I am very happy I invested in the faux flowers because it saved me a bunch of time watering along with cost of that water and they still look great so I will be able to use them all next year....
I will be comparing each area in this post to showcase the simple changes I made from Fall to Halloween.....
FALL
HALLOWEEN
FALL
HALLOWEEN
I replaced the faux flowers in the pot by the pillar with a terra cotta Jack O'Lantern....
I may add a few leaves around it....
I took the Fall sign off the topiary I made along with the pumpkin yard stakes from Dollar Tree that I had tucked into the top of it...
I wrapped a piece of Halloween garland around it, tucked skeleton hand salad tongs from Dollar Tree into it......
Hung 2 black skeleton ornaments on it.......
I replaced the lantern on the top of the milk can with a Jack O' Lantern I made from a water jug that I found on the side of our road....
I placed a boney foot on the table and replaced the faux pumpkin under the table with another Jack O Lantern I made from a plastic Pretzel container.....
FALL
HALLOWEEN
Like in past years, I added spiders from Dollar General to the garland around the door....
The arrow shaped sing that says " Beware of Giant Spiders" points to the large one hanging in the corner, that I bought last year in Dollar Tree for $1.25!!!
More spiders and a skeleton on this side of the garland.... I changed the wreath out for a Halloween one that I made using a skull wreath bought at Five Below....
FALL
HALLOWEEN
FALL
HALLOWEEN
I changed out the signs and the bow on the porch light.....
Joe had bought this one on Clearance in Big Lot's for 90% off....
I bought this one in Gabes....
You may remember that I bought this sign in Gabes a few weeks ago....
I hung it above the Welcome Friends sign that I recently repainted...
Joe bought the pumpkin sign at Big Lot's for 90% off....
I replaced the pot with faux flowers here on this table with a wooden crate with this cute face!!!
We bought him in Wegman's several years ago....
I kept out the name sign that my great niece also made for me to match the porch sign...
I hung a skeleton with a bow that I made for a bow tie....
And I hung a rubber bat from the flag pole....
Joe also bought this for 90% off in Big Lot's...
FALL
HALLOWEEN
This year, I moved this skull yard stake over to the tree that graces this corner year round....
I gave him a bow tie and added skeleton hands to the Tree....
I am really happy with this look.....
Another terra cotta Jack O' Lantern moved from the black urn to the table.....
I placed this topiary that I made in the black urn..........
A Dollar Tree black spider web hangs above the topiary...
HALLOWEEN
I created a bit of a cemetery in front of the railing....
I simply added these bows made from Halloween ribbon to the deco mesh bows on each side of the railing......
I hung these pumpkin halves that I made on the railing.....
I hung a chain from Dollar Tree from the garland....
I removed the faux flowers from these planters and replaced them with Dollar Tree tombstones and solar lights....
And placed faux pumpkins in front of the tombstones.....
The other bow....
The metal tombstone in the center Joe bought for $1 from a furniture store that had a sale after it was destroyed when the tornado hit the shopping center next to us in 2018....
FALL
HALLOWEEN
I replaced the Fall flag with a Halloween one....
I changed out the porch sign against this pillar for a Halloween one bought in Dollar Tree....
I also changed out the mailbox cover.....
HALLOWEEN
I cut back the hostas that I was growing in the pots on each side of my Shabby Chic chippy angel........
Again, I wanted to create a cemetery look and I think the angel adds to it!!
I moved the pumpkin yard stakes that I had tucked into the top of the topiary on the porch for Fall, here, on each side of the angel......
I simply tucked this skeleton fencing, bought at Dollar Tree, in front of the regular iron fencing....
I placed these plastic Dollar Tree signs in the pots....
Along with these skulls and skeleton hands, bought at Dollar General for a buck each, in front of them....
I left out the tear drop solar lights and added Dollar Tree black solar lights that look orange when lit to the pots...
For now, I left the impatiens growing in the other pots but we are predicted to dip down into the 30's with frost for a few mornings this week, so I may be ripping those out...
The front flower bed
FALL
I changed out the Fall mini flag and replaced the firefly solar lights with Halloween ones......
I did leave the pumpkin yard stake out...
I added another Dollar Tree tombstone....
I changed out the bow on the lamp post for a Halloween one....
For now, I left Joe's Pittsburgh Memorial out on the park bench and beneath except for the torch solar light in the pot of marigolds.....
I will move all of this inside in the Winter...
If we get frost this week, I will be getting rid of the remaining marigolds and impatiens so I will have a bit of tweaking to do....
I left out the pumpkin yard stakes and again, replaced solar lighting with a Halloween one....
I moved the faux pumpkin from the front porch out to the flower bed....
I have to fill the bird bath and for now, I am leaving it out because the children that live next door enjoy it...
The asters that I planted in my neighbor's yard are blooming which is nice because none of mine in the back yard grew or bloomed this year...
Some type of insect gnawed them right down and those that did grew were very small and never bloomed....
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I very simply changed over the front porch and yard from Fall to Halloween this year.....
I am proud of myself!!
I will be sharing any changes and it all lit up in the evening when I add candles to all the Jack O"Lanterns in my annual Falloween Home Tour...
I hope you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY for my next post and I promise, we will be continuing the tour of my Falloween Kitchen!
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!
