I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

I had a bit of a mishap when I was helping my son Jim take my air conditioners out of the windows...

I crawl into the flower bed under the Living Room window to hold the air conditioner, which is a big one, while Jim opens the window and takes it out of the window...

When crawling back out of the flower bed, I apparently got my pant legs caught on the fencing..

And before I knew it , I was on the sidewalk....

It wasn't bad enough that I fell on both my knees....

But even though I did not feel it, my right eye brow area hit the metal fencing, causing my glasses, that were not even a year old, to fly across the sidewalk , scratching the bejesus out of the right lens!

I got up and realized I hit my face when I felt the blood trickling down my it!

I had a superficial ( not needing stitches) cut about a half inch long on my right eye brow area but because the face is very vascular and I take a baby Aspirin, it was bleeding quite a bit, scaring the heck out of my son Jim!

He did not realize I even fell until I came in the house bleeding...

A bit of pressure stopped it but I sure have a dandy Shiner as all the blood settled downward around the eye socket!!

Since my glasses are uder warranty for a year, they are replacing the lens for FREE and even offered me a new pair of glass at 50% off but since I have an appointment with my eye doctor in January, I declined because if my script changes, I will need new glasses then....

It is a good thing that I can still use my old glasses until I get the other ones back....

As faith would have it, I had a Senior Group meeting and a community group meeting 2 days after the fall...

My son Joey said that I should have worn an eye patch and got a Pirate's hat and said it was my Halloween costume!!

My "good" knee took the brunt of the fall so it is brush burned and quite black and blue...

My other knee, with the joint replacement, is okay...Thank God!

The eye looks worse than it is and I do have an appointment on Monday for my yearly Dr.'s visit so he will look at it then...

The swelling is now going down but it is going to take a bit for the bruising to reabsorb....

The eye actually does not hurt but is itchy...

It is now yellow around the eye brow and red and purple underneath the eye as the blood collection settled more..

I thank God that it was not worse as I could have damaged the eye or broke a bone....

I am thinking of removing that fencing as I do crawl in there several times a year for maintenance and what not...

Today, I will be sharing how I decorated my Dining Room Hutch this year as an Apothecary Cabinet and a few changes I made both inside it and around it....

I started decorating the Hutch as an Apothecary Cabinet a few years ago....

I really enjoy doing it and I changed up a few things this year....

I hung a Halloween Tussie Mussie that I made above the Hutch....

 The top of the Hutch.....

In addition to adding a Halloween runner to the white lace runner on top.......

I added one of a set of 4 orange vinyl leaf place mats that I recently bought in Gabes.....

I made all the potion bottles many years ago....

I bought the Apothecary sign in Big Lot's and the glasses in Dollar Tree.....

I hung another Apothecary sign, bought in Dollar Tree, on the window divider.....

Last year, I bought these in Big Lot's.....

The top shelf.....

I bought the candles in Big Lot's a few years back....

In a sterling silver antique bridal basket, sits a skull......

A skull that I embellished to look like one I saw in Pier One in 2017.....

The book boxes came from Dollar Tree....

  Middle shelf....

The plates I used on all the shelves are actually paper plates from Dollar Tree.....

I bought these glasses in Big Lot's last year.....

The arsenic mugs also came from Big Lot's....

The black ceramic caldron was bought in J.C. Penney's and the mask was bought in Dollar General....

Bottom shelf.....

I replaced a potion book that I made many years ago with this Dollar Tree sign that I bought this year...

I like that it looks 3 dimensional.....

Now this is how this area looks this year.....

This is how it looked last year....

I decided to leave Minerva upstairs this year....

In a future post, I will share what I did with all the elements of her Halloween outfit....

I got to hang a few more Dollar Tree signs on the window divider....

In past years, I displayed the haunted house that was bought in Target on top of the small curio....

This year, I displayed a few new things I bought in Dollar Tree instead.....

And moved the haunted house here....

In front of the Hutch, I hung small signs from Dollar Tree.....

The Halloween sign came from Big Lot's as my late husband Joe bought it on clearance for 90% off....

And the cute Bearington Bear Trick or Treater was gifted to me by my late friend Anne Marie , who loved Halloween!!!

I placed a spider web topper over a vintage lace tablecloth....

This "table" was created by placing a hat box on top of a pedestal....

I did embellish this haunted house with ghost stickers from Dollar Tree a few years ago....

These sweet figurines were gifted to me by Anne Marie....

There is a mirror round under the spider web topper....

So this is how this area looks this year. decked out for Halloween...

I also want to share how I decorated the chandy this year.....

I added a black and silver beaded garland to the chandy beads....

I hung skulls and ghouls that were bought many years ago in Michael's....

There are also a few orange ball ornaments from Dollar Tree hanging from it too!!

And this is where I will leave off for today.....

I hope you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY for my next post!!
