I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

In my last post, I shared What I Have Bought Recently...

And what I transplanted recently....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

I want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, Home Host for the month long link Party, You're the Star, for choosing my post, Purple and Sage Green Victorian Styled Bathroom, as one of her Home Week features...

Thanks so much, Bev!!!

Please stop by and link up to this wonderful month long party!

Today, I will be sharing how my Powder Room looks decorated in what I call "Boudoir Style"!

It is a drastically different look from how it was decorated for Christmas!!

 And for Winter/ Valentine's....

It is amazing what just changing the colors of all the accessories in a room can do when it is painted a neutral color...

I painted the Powder Room gray about 15 years ago as I was looking for a neutral color...

Well before the whole Farmhouse style where everything was gray.....

I have to say that I am happy that style is now out of style and Cottage Core or Grandma Chic is really becoming quite popular.....

Again!!

I am a Victorian soul but this room is now decorated in more of a 1920's style I like to think....

I got the idea for this from my late neighbor Elly, who bought 2 curios for her bedroom and displayed purses, jewelry, hair combs, etc in them.....

The curios are now in my Dining Room....

Let's start the tour of this room at the door where I hung a wreath that I made....

And hung a sign that I made in the center of it...
.

 Above the door way....

To the left when you walk in......

This room was remodeled about 15 years ago when we re-did the whole downstairs except for the Den....

I think it took me 2 years to recover as I was working full time night shift at the time!!

I am not going to go into great detail as I have shared how this room looks numerous times over the last 15 years that I have been blogging!!

Many of the items are from Home Interiors which was popular in the 80's....

Some I bought as a hostess of many of those parties....

And many I bought at yard sales...

This is the new light fixture that we put in 15 + years ago.....

 Along with this medicine cabinet....

More yard sale finds from over 20+ years ago....

Many of these yard sale finds I painted black.....

Like all the wicker pieces in this room....

Again, I used pictures of what I call " instant relatives"

Meaning I bought them at flea markets or antique co ops...

I recently bought these pretty pink towels that were on sale in J.C. Penney's....

An Easter Snow Bunny and a few eggs I embellished...

A vintage tole tray bought at a yard sale for $1.00!!

On the estagere that was once gold and I spray painted black.....

Another yard sale find is this 3 tiered stand....

I painted the shelf and sconces black.....

Notice the twisted rope pattern on the wall paper border and on the shelf....

Easter ornaments that I made and hung from the sconces.....

Mostly all yard sale and flea market finds from over 20+ years ago.....

The sugar and creamer holds Q Tips and cotton balls.....

On the right side of the shelf unit....

The vintage purse was my late neighbor Elly's....

Above the closet that houses the washer and dryer.....

I hope you enjoyed this quick little tour of my Powder Room as it looks devoid of any Holiday decorations....

It will stay this way until October when I decorate it for Christmas again!!!

I hope you will stop by to visit again on THURSDAY for my next post when I review how I did with my April Goals!!

  1. Pink and black feels very French to me and so does your bathroom! French victorian -- I have no idea if that's such a thing!

  2. I just love your bathroom in pink and black. When I watch house hunting shows and they want to rip those bathrooms out, I just want to cry. To me the 1920's deco vibe is just so cool and sophisticated. And all your ornaments and decorating items just fit the theme so well.

  3. Hi Debbie - Love the pink and black! And the doilies, too. They look like the tatting that my aunt used to do. I have a nice table runner she made and treasure it. Thanks for your comment on our Poland trip - both John and I are of Eastern European descent ( Slovak and Ukrainian) and all of the food in Poland was familiar. I just posted the end of our Poland trip...it was wonderful. We have been to Slovakia, but sadly we will probably never get to Ukraine now. Keep enjoying your beautiful home and have a great Spring!

  6. HI Debbie, love the pink and black, very boujee. I'd like to come across a few of those perfume bottles for our bathroom. Our bathroom is gray and white with pink sprinkled in. Our home was built in 1950, and gray was very popular then so that is what we went with. Isn't it funny how things come and go, and then come back around. I am not farmhouse, just a cottage living gal. Thanks for the tip on the petals and thank you for visiting me. I am in the midst of a dining room makeover, one small frame sure has caused a lot of action here, with me changing almost everything out which is not something I tend to do. I am not sure where you get your energy, but I just do not have it to do in every room like you do. Have a great rest of your week!

  9. I love your comments about how many years you have putting out certain pieces, I think that is why it feels like "home". When we have those items sitting out or displayed we have put a bit of ourselves into the mix, and of course it instantly becomes home at that moment!
