I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

 A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS

I enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

I wasn't sure that I was going to get this post up today as I think I contracted that dreaded norovirus or some sort of G I virus....

Was up since 3:30 am....

Went downstairs to watch the Pope's Funeral around 5:30 am....

He is going to be a hard act to follow and will be greatly missed for being humble, encouraging Inclusivity for all and his lifting up of the marginalized in society along with Immigrants...

As the Grand Daughter of Polish Immigrants, I admired him greatly for this...

It was a beautiful service but the ride from Saint Peter's to his final resting place was quite spectacular...

I wanted to share one of our favorite pizzas from a local favorite place, Serpico's...

This is a cheese steak pizza!!

It is filled with so much goodness that you have to cut it with a knife and fork....

The Amish Farmer, Ben Peachey, is back every Friday now until October in the parking lot of the mall right down the road from me....

I bought sweet corn.....

Amish Butter Cheese and Bacon Cheese....

Using up some of the ham from Easter, I made myself what I used to call a "Mommy Mc Muffin"....

When my sons were young, using the cheese from the Amish Farmer......

On the one year anniversary of Joe's passing, I did a bit of shopping , which was one of his favorite things to do!!

Joe loved Big Lot's but ours is now closed and not reopening as part of the Buy out...

So I went to Dollar Tree as I did have to pick up a few things for Easter!

And I did buy a few more things as part of my retail therapy that day.......

Faux greenery....

These eucalyptus bushes are big on Instagram, Pinterest and You Tube video....

I saw these used by Cecilia, over at My Thirft Store Addiction....

And I loved what she did with them so I bought some....

2 sets of 3.....

These ornaments will be part of my Summer Patriotic decorations...

And I loved these Bee decor items....

These will most likely find a home on the front porch for the Summer....

I actually first saw this Horsepower Duck cordless vacuum on an infomercial and that later saw it on a "Does It Really Work?" segment on one of our local TV stations....

The product got a big thumbs up especially for cleaning up small messes in a car, which was mainly what I wanted it for.......

I did my price comparison, like I always do, and once again, I was able to find it cheaper than the $49.99 on Amazon......

I purchased it online in Walmart for only $38.99 with Free Shipping....

I previously mentioned that I had Spring "snow" in my back yard.....

Caused by this culprit....

Joe had bought a huge leaf blower that also could be used as a vacuum but it weighed almost 50 pounds and had to be plugged in...

I passed it on to my niece Renae who did not want to use the gas one that she had...

So once again, I did my comparison pricing for a light weight small, cordless leaf blower that I could use in the back yard....

And once again, I found one cheaper online through Walmart for the exact same product...

I paid only $45.99 but when I added the link above, I see that it increased up to $54.99 which is still cheaper than the $59.99 through Amazon...

It only weighs a little over 3 pounds, has 2 speeds and is cordless.......

I did order these faux flowers, also from Walmart, for my front porch......

Red orange....

And  yellow gold ones...

And I do have some hanging flowers for hanging baskets also coming....

Again, these are cheaper through Walmart...

And all included Free Shipping!

I guess I will never become as Amazon Affiliate!!

Lol!

With the possibility of proposed tariffs on medications, I did a stock up order from Sam's Club.....

Just things I normally use on a daily basis....

The Tylenol Sinus, cough drops and Afrin is because this darn warm weather is killing my sinuses....

I also want to share a few plants that I transplanted......

This is my next door neighbor's flower bed under their Living Room window that I landscaped a few years ago....

I thinned out some of the hostas that had spread close to the edge of the sidewalk....

And raked up the mulch a bit....

I dug up some in 2 places and then split them in to 3 plants a piece....

I planted 2 in my neighbor Ed's flower bed....

2 of them in these 2 pots in my own flower bed under my Living Room window....

I will buy a few annuals for 2 smaller pots that I will use in this flower bed...

2 more were planted in pots out in the back Patio.....

When I cleaned up this flower bed, I had to throw out one of the large square pots on the retaining wall because it was cracked....

I placed the remaining one next to the house and I transplanted a Rose of Sharon seedling in it that I had growing in a pot out in the back....

And I did not even know that it was Arbor Day when I planted it until afterward when I saw it on the news....

We finally got a bit of much needed rain last night which is good for these transplants...

My next post will be on MONDAY and I hope you will stop by to visit again !!!!

  3. You found some really great buys; I have a plug in installed on my computer that automatically prompts me if something I'm looking at buying can be found cheaper elsewhere. I love it... even if sometimes it isn't really cheaper because it doesn't take things like shipping into account.
