I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Kitchen Fall/Halloween Decorations, Part 2, 2019

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Today, I will be finishing up my tour of our Kitchen decorated for Fall with a touch of Halloween.....

But first, I want to Thank Stacey, over at Embracing Change, for featuring my post, Early Fall Front Yard, from last week's Creative Inspirations Link Party!!
Thanks so much, Stacey!!

Also want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for featuring my post, Fall/Halloween Kitchen Tree, from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Linky party!!
Thanks so much, Bev!!

Please stop by and link up to these lovely parties!!!!

In previous posts, I shared my Fall/Halloween Tree in the Kitchen, which is new this year as I never set up this Tree in the Kitchen before Christmas ....
Click HERE if you missed that post.....

And I also shared how I decorated the Hutch in the Kitchen for Fall with a touch of Halloween........
And this wall in our Kitchen.....
Click HERE if you missed that post......

And I also shared what I call the work area of our Kitchen.......
Click HERE  if you missed that post......

The last area of our Kitchen that I want to show you is the Counter Bar......
Our Kitchen is small and this wall is between the entrance from the Kitchen into the Dining Room and the hall way to the Living Room......
Many years ago, I had a friend build this counter bar for me so I had extra counter space and a place for the microwave along with other storage......
There was a pass though into our Dining Room which was the "thing" when our townhouse was built in the last 1970's.....
I made it into a "window" by adding curtains, a piece of stained glass and shutters......
Above the faux "window".....
I changed out the garland that was hung here for the Spring and Summer....
With this leaf garland that I had previously used in the upstairs hallway.....
It reminds me of the leaves starting to  change colors in the Fall......
I hung the feed sack ornaments that I bought last year in Boscov's and added a cute little Fall burlap pillow bought this year bought  in Dollar General....
I made this wreath last year using plaid ribbon that I have used through out the Kitchen for Fall......
A few faux gourdes in the copper wire hanging baskets.....
Another feed sack ornament and Fall burlap pillow bought at Dollar General.......
I had left over material from a project that I did last year as a Hostess for our church's annual Harvest Tea.....

I made pumpkins out of toilet paper as my favors for the Tea using a tablecloth as the fabric...
I made a Valance for this entrance to the Kitchen from the hall way.....

I changed out this one that I had hanging for the Spring and Summer.....
For this one for the Fall.....
Many years ago, on a decorating show that I had watched, I saw a segment on hanging curtains and valances through out the house in places where there are no windows......

I always liked the way it looked when you do so especially since I live in a townhouse and do not have many windows.....

This is how it looks from the Living Room, looking through the hall way toward the Kitchen.....
It also adds a bit of a barrier between the color changes from room to room since each room is painted different colors...
I simply folded the fabric in half to have the pattern on both sides and then sewed the rod pocket for the curtain rod on top.....
 Back to the counter bar......
Also for the Harvest Tea last year, I bought a plaid runner at Dollar General for my table......
It was too long for me to use anywhere at home after the Tea so I cut it and used part of it for a runner on the counter bar.....
And used the other part of it on the desk area of the Kitchen Hutch......
I kept out the Farm Fresh place mat that I had here during the Summer as this is where I usually put the hot containers that I take out of the microwave.......
It was bought at Dollar Tree.....
Gourdes that I bought from a Farmer's Market sit in the vintage copper tray.....
A fall floral arrangement is behind the lamp....
On the left side of the counter bar......
I added a plaid ribbon bow and a welcome sign, taken from a larger outdoor post that fell apart, to the vintage washboard.......
The lower part of the counter bar.....
I made a curtain from the left over tablecloth fabric......
Changing out the strawberry fabric one that I hung here for the Spring and Summer......
With this one more appropriate for Fall......
Oddly, I do not have any fabric left to make one of those pumpkins for myself but that is okay!!!

My red microwave died in the Summer and rather than replace it with an identical one that cost $125, Joe found this one with the same wattage and power in Target on sale for $40!!

Sold!!!!
On the right side of the counter bar.....
"Apples 5 cents each"
I bought this white enamelware sign at Big Lot's this year....
And added wood apples to it and placed a wood apple basket on the floor....
A new pot holder......

In the corner, an Apple Pie sign bought many years ago at Michael's.....
And a sweet little scarecrow bought at Dollar Tree.....
And that ends my tour of the Kitchen decorated for Fall with a touch of Halloween.....
I hope you enjoyed seeing all the different things that I added this year to this room......
In my next post, I will be sharing how I decorated the Living Room in an elegant Fall theme starting with my Autumn Trees and Pumpkin Patch......
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  8. More fun fall decor! There's so much to see but the tiffany lamp caught my eye! So pretty and the fruits motif fits right in with a fall harvest theme!
