I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Today, I will be sharing a few Fall, with a touch of Halloween, decorations in our Powder Room and in the hall way downstairs......
But first, I want to Thank Kristie, over at Love My Cottage, for choosing my post, Halloween Tree in the Dining Room, from last week's Little Cottage Link Party!!
Thanks so much, Kristie!!
Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!!
First, we will start in the Powder Room......
On the Powder Room door.......
I always hang this black and white Halloween Wreath that I made a few years ago on the door because the black and white goes well with the Powder Room color theme......
Creepy Spiders.....
And a Halloween sign, bought in a previous year at the Dollar Tree.....
I am going to share "before and after" pics in the Powder Room to illustrate how just a few changes can give a room a new Seasonal look.......
The Powder Room is small and does not have a window so it is hard to take pics in there at times.....
Before......
After....
Before.....
After.......
I simply added 2 pumpkins on top of the medicine cabinet.......
With the lights on.....
Before......
After.......
I hung a Halloween Chandy ornament from the knob on the cabinet......
And switched out the picture for a half pumpkin that I embellished with lace, ribbon roses and pink velvet leaves.....
On the sink, before.....
After.....
A pumpkin that I painted pink and embellished and put inside a cloche.....
Before, on top of the toilet.......
After.....
On a silver tray bought at Dollar Tree that I embellished is another pink pumpkin.......
I bought a pack of those pink velvet leaves for 25 cents at a church flea market many years ago....
On the estagere, before......
After I added a sterling silver tussie mussie with a black rose with a spider on it and another pink velvet leaf inside of it.....
Before.......
After......
I added a white Dollar Tree pumpkin that I glued to a wood candlestick that I painted white....
And a pink glittered pumpkin bought at JoAnn Fabrics a few years ago.....
Before......
After......
My Halloween Snow Buddies.....
I always say they are the precursors of what is to come because soon , I will be decorating the Powder Room with Snow Buddies for Christmas and Winter......
Just a few simple changes to the Powder Room to make it look more Seasonal......
This is the hall way from the Living Room to the Kitchen with the door to the Powder Room on the left......
There is a mirror on the wall between the closet and the Powder Room.......
I usually hang a seasonal wreath on this mirror......
This was the wreath that I had made for the front door a few years ago......
I made a new one for the front door this year so I brought this one inside......
The ribbon for the bow is burlap and I am not sure if you can see it but there is a gold thread through it.....
Hanging underneath the wreath is a broom that I made.......
I used to hang it by the stairs in the Living Room but hung it here this year because I used the same ribbon for it's bow......
I glued a Dollar Tree sign to the bristles and embellished it.....
I hope you enjoyed seeing my Fall and Halloween decorations for this year.....
Have I told you how much I love retirement!!! LOL!!
I do want to clarify that I LOVE decorating my home and even though some of you have mentioned all the "work" it is and all the "trouble" I go through to do so, I truly do not see it as "work" or "trouble"....
Like I tell Joe, I am "playing"!!!
Decorating for different Holidays and Seasons allows me to change the whole look of the house without remodeling it and it sure is cheaper, right?????
I get to let my imagination run wild and I have a good time and just about when I am starting to get bored with things, it is time for another Holiday or a change of Seasons and I get to "play" again!!!
Now many of you have asked me where do I store everything and I have mentioned that our attic is floored because we have no basement.....
I have also mentioned that we have rent a Storage Shed.....
Joe has been working diligently down there to organize and straighten it......
All outside decorations including Summer things, some crafts and supplies that I still have left after being a vendor at craft fairs, all of our sons old toys from their childhood and Joe's Seasonal clothes ( he hates going up the attic) are stored here in the shed.....
And we will soon be bringing the furniture from the front porch down here to the shed......
We feel it is worth the $98 a month for the convenience of it as it is only about a 5 minute drive from our house.....
Speaking of Joe, he will be celebrating Halloween wearing his Day of the Dead inspired Hockey shirt that he bought at the Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins game the other night.....
We are Season Ticket holders for the Pittsburgh Pens AHL team with the Arena being right down the road from us......
You know he wanted to wear this one!!
Last week, Joe and our son Joe drove to Hershey Giant Center near the famous Hershey Park to see the Swedish Rock band, Ghost, in concert......
They are a heavy metal goth rock band that they have already seen once before......
They had a great time!!
And last week, I finished decorating the upstairs for Christmas so now my house has a split personality with the downstairs decorated for Fall and Halloween and the upstairs decorated for Christmas!!!!
In the future, I will be sharing a late Fall update on our Front Porch and Yard since my marigolds finally bit the dust and I replaced them with mums......
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
If you do not have a blog, PLEASE give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment. If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

Please take some time to visit these terrific hosts and all those joining in on the fun!
Yes, I agree. It is fun to decorate for the different seasons. I can't do but so much because of all of the work outdoors in the yard to do. Way too much work. Ready for a move but my husband is not. Thanksgiving will be here very soon and may as well get Christmas started, it takes a while to get the stuff decorated. Your home is very festive for Halloween. Love Joes shirt.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a good idea -- sneaking Christmas into part of the house ahead of time. I was going to ask how you would be able to manage to get all this down and Christmas up in the short period we have this year between the TG and Christmas holidays. I'll start the day after Christmas. My house is too small to pull that off but I might be able to pull things up and to the guest room so I can start the day after TG!
ReplyDeleteI missed your festive decorations a lot. Beautiful, amazing as usual

Fun pictures. I don't have a powder room, yours is gorgeous, both before and after. LOVE the vintage, Victoria feel to it. Very pretty indeed. Looking at your pictures makes me remember I do have fall placemats, I need to find them and put them on the table. Don't think I remembered to do that last year.
ReplyDeleteI love the wreath broom idea. You did a great job. Great article.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and for your kind words!!
