Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
I am going to share a quick little project with you today.......
It is hard to believe but I am STILL trying to "un-decorate" the house from Holiday decorations!!
I FINALLY managed to take down all the Valentine's decorations in the Living Room and re-decorated it for the Summer because I have realized that I will not be doing any Seasonal or Holiday decorating until I am fully recovered from my Knee Replacement Surgery.....
Joe took down and packed away, under my Guidance and some assistance, all of the outside Winter decorations....
It has definitely been a challenge for me with my knee......
If I stand, sit or walk around too much, the pain is terrific in my knee as I can feel the bones rubbing against each other in the joint........
What amazes me is how tired I get.......
I had an appointment with my Family Dr. and when he pulled up and looked at the Xray of my knee that the orthopedic surgeon ordered, he asked "How are you still walking??? There is no cartilage on the inside of your knee and very little on the outside of your knee! You must have a very high pain tolerance!"
I swear that is the story of my life!!!
Enough about that.....
I want to Thank Cecelia, over at My Thrift Store Adddiction, for choosing my post, A Spring Vignette , as one of her features from last week's Vintage Charm Party!
Thanks so much, Cecelia!!
Please stop by and link up to this great party!!
As I mentioned in previous posts, I am not doing any decorating for Holidays until after I have recuperated for my knee surgery......
I have also been going through things and purging, donating to Salvation Army or offering items to family.....
My Kitchen has what I call a French Country Victorian theme going on in it......
It is definitely NOT Farmhouse because I am so NOT into all those farm animals....
BUT that being said, I do like Roosters and Hens and have quite a few of them in my Kitchen....
Again, more of a French Country thing......
I have had these 2 Home Interiors pictures hanging on the soffit above the Kitchen Cabinets for many years now........
I wanted to freshen up that area a bit but I did not want to buy anything new so I decided to "Shop my House" for ideas ......
I had 2 of these place mats that I bought a few years back at Dollar Tree......
They definitely fit in with the theme and style that I am going for in the Kitchen right now.......
So I measured and cut the place mats to fit the picture frames.......
This is the larger one......
I simply taped the cut place mat to the glass in case I would ever want to go back to using the original pictures which I still do like.......
After cutting the place mat, I still had enough of the trim left to use on the 2 sides of this picture......
Again, I just taped it on.......
Here is the larger picture hanging above the stove and hood......
I like how it looks with the border........
This is the smaller picture.......
I did the same thing with this one......
Taping the place mat to the glass..........
Since this one was smaller I had enough of the trim to finish off the picture......
Here is where I hung the smaller picture on the soffit above the Beverage Center and refrigerator............
I have had the copper molds in my Kitchen for many. many years and now copper is back in "Style"!!
It has always been my "Style:!!
In the future, I will be sharing more of how I re-arranged some things in the Kitchen and a few other small projects that I did along with the last area around the bottom of the China Cupboard in the Den...............
So I hope you will come back to visit again......
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
If you do not have a blog, PLEASE give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment. If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

Please take some time to visit these terrific hosts and all those joining in on the fun!
I had the 2nd strawberry picture you had for years. Many years ago my kitchen theme was strawberries. I too have bought the dollar tree placements and frames them. I bought quite a few one year and made little mad hatter hats from them for a party. Was so darling. It is amazing what we can do. My problem is putting my mind to it! LOL! I love how your adorable rooster turned out in that frame. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to recycle. The finished pictures were both amazing. So sorry to hear about your knee, it must be hard waiting for surgery in so much pain. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful rooster. Since long I'm planning to paint a rooster, but yet to do :D
ReplyDeleteClever idea, Debbie! Is that what they mean by "upcycling" items we no longer use? Hope you get some relief with your knee pain soon.
ReplyDeleteYour roosters turned out amazing.I'm so sorry for your knee. Hope you're doing well
ReplyDeleteHugs
I love roosters. Always have.
ReplyDeleteI know how the knee pain feels, TERRIBLE. Relief will be soon. Stay in and don't get this flu that many around here have been getting. I am just getting to where I can stay up for 2 hours and not get tired.
I tried sending comments on the post before this one about two days ago and they just didn't want to go through. Glad this one did.
Great idea! How pretty!Have a blessed weekend and Happy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea to use placemats for decor! Glad your knee surgery is coming up soon--it sounds like you need it! Good luck! And thanks for sharing this fun post at #heartandsoullinkup
ReplyDeleteDo your best until your knee surgery. My husband had it back in December, and it was well worth it. He can do things he wasn't able to before. Love the placemat idea--will have to keep that in mind if I see any I like.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking the time to stop by and to leave such a kind comment!!
DeleteHugs,
Deb
What a great way to reuse those placemats! I love changing things around in my home like that. Also, you are so right about copper being back in style. I have been looking for some copper canisters for awhile now, and I just found a set at an estate sale this past weekend! Thanks so much for sharing at Sweet Inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love when you can "shop the house"...cute ideas! Thanks for linking up to Best of the Weekend! Yours was our most clicked feature this week. Be sure to swing by tomorrow for our next party. Congratulations and enjoy your weekend!
