I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Patriotic Tree #2 and and "Mantle", 2018

    Welcome!!

In today's post, I will be sharing how I decorated the top of our TV Entertainment Center in the Living Room for the Summer Patriotic Holidays!!!

And I will also be sharing a few Patriotic decorations in the hallway leading from the Living Room to the Kitchen......

But first I want to Thank Kathy, over at A Delightsome Life, for featuring my post, A Gnome Fairy Garden in a Beverage Tub, from last week's Home and Garden Party!!!
Thanks so much, Kathy!!

And Thanks to Stacey, over at Embracing Change, for featuring my post, Summer Front Porch, from last week's Creative Inspirations Linky Party!!!
 Thanks again, Stacey!!

And I also want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn , for featuring my post Summer Flowers in the Front Yard, from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Link Party!
Thanks again, Bev!!

Please stop by and link up to these lovely parties!!!

As I mentioned before, I will be sharing how I decorated the top of our Living Room TV Entertainment Center, which I treat as a "Mantle", for the Summer Patriotic Holidays.......
I have had my Patriotic decorations up since before Memorial Day but decided to share them closer to July 4th rather than for Memorial Day ......

Memorial Day is more of a Solemn Remembrance of those who made the Ultimate Sacrifice for our Freedom, where July 4th is a Celebration of our Great Country's  Independence!!!!

I also want to share with you Patriotic Tree #2.......
In previous posts, I shared my Patriotic Tree, #1
Click HERE if you missed that post.......

And how I decorated the corner of the Living Room where this Tree sits on display......
Click HERE if you missed that post......

Let's take a closer look at how I decorated the "Mantle" this year.......
It is a little different from last year......

Over on the left side.......
I cut a small American Flag, bought at Dollar Tree, off of it's wand and wrapped it around a cemetery candle, also bought at Dollar Tree and simply taped it in place......
The candle sits inside large candle holders that I made several years ago simply by gluing a vase to a candlestick , all bought at Dollar Tree.....

A family of 4 Patriotic Carolers were bought many years ago at The Christmas Tree Shop......
This dinner plate is part of the Liberty Blue Collection......
 It depicts Independence Hall.....

I have shared other dishes from the Liberty Blue Collection in my 2 previous posts about my Patriotic decor.......
For America's Bicentennial, Liberty Blue dishes were offered in grocery stores and banks as a promotion........

Each dish depicts various Historical scenes from the American Colonial Era and are not easy to find nowadays.....

This is the marking on the back of the dinner plate.......
The Patriotic cupcake dish was also bought at The Christmas Tree Shop.......
I placed 2 flags and a red ornament inside of a blue glass goblet with George Washington's silhouette on it, made by Avon.......
I bought this at Salvation Army.....
In the center, sits Patriotic Tree # 2..........
This small white Tree is decorated with red, blue and silver ornaments.......
Topped off with a bow made from Patriotic ribbon........
The tree has Patriotic wired star garland wrapped around it........
In front of the Tree.......
You can see that I strung a set of battery operated light through out the display......
A little girl Patriotic Caroler.......
In the middle, is an Avon creamer with Monticello on it and an Avon Betsy Ross cologne decanter.......
New this year, is this USA plaque that I bought at Dollar Tree and glued some red tinsel trim to it to give it a vintage look.......
You can see how sparkly it is!!!

The little boy Patriotic Caroler........
I am SO into symmetry with the right side looking very much like the left side!!!
Again, another Avon Goblet with Martha Washington's silhouette on it.....
Another cupcake dish.....
And one more Liberty Blue dinner plate........
The last member of my family of Patriotic Carolers......
So this is my Patriotic "Mantle" for this Summer season.........
It will stay decorated like this until about a week after July 4th and then I will change it......

I also want to show you an area in the hallway that leads from the Living Room to the Kitchen........

I like to decorate the mirror on the wall between the coat closet and the Powder Room........
It started off looking like this........

With a wreath that I made a few years ago........
This year, I tucked this Patriotic card in to the center of the wreath.that we got through the mail in a packet of cards that you receive when you donate to different charities.....
Hanging underneath the wreath are 2 tinsel plaques that I bought several years ago in Dollar Tree......
I thought they looked a bit plain......
So I went through my stash and found a packet of Patriotic tags that I ordered on Ebay many years ago so I decided that I would "Dabble" a bit and add these vintage style tags to them........

The Patriotic Hat......
 And the Star.....
 I think that looks better.......
In my next post, I will be sharing Patriotic Tree #3 and how I decorated this corner of the Living Room by the stairs.....
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
