I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....

I feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I was....

I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

 A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS

I enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

In my last post, I shared my family America 250 Celebration Dinner ...

How I made a photo gallery out of my refrigerator door...

And that the tree that came down on my yard was cut down and removed....

I want to Thank the hosts of the month long link party "You're the Star" for choosing my blog post, Hens, Roos, Bees & Strawberries, Early Summer Kitchen Hutch, as one of their features for Creative Feature Week!!

Thank you all so much!!

Please stop by and link up to this wonderful party!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....

On THURSDAYS, I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...

I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....

On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...

Once again, I really do not have anything to share in regards to what I bought recently....

But I will share what I did with something that I recently bought....

I ordered this can of Rustoleum red primer online at Michael's and then picked it up at the store, getting 40 % off which made it a lot cheaper than at Lowe's or Home Depot....

I received a bunch of grey paver/bricks from a FB friend for FREE!!

I did not know what I would be doing with them until I did think of something......

But I wanted them to look like regular red bricks and also to match the paver pathways in my back yard....

I have used this spray paint before on other grey pavers....

I flipped them over to the other side....

And this is where I used them.....

To build up the wall on each side of the garden shed.....

We dug out the slope in the back yard, leveled out the ground so we could place the shed in the right hand corner....

Over 45+ years ago, my Dad constructed a wall out of wood ties on the 3 sides of the shed....

After spraying the bricks red, I also gave the wood ties a fresh coat of paint.....

I just placed them on top of each other....

Same thing on the other side....

I now need to clean up the garden shed like I have done in the past with water and bleach....

The wall will darken a bit as time goes on....

And this is a peek of how my back yard now looks without that Tree there.....

I have not seen those arborvitaes in years....

I still do get some shade in the back yard because of the other trees in the back of my yard.....

One of the items on my July Monthly Goals List was to give some of my outdoor Patriotic decor a fresh coat of red paint ,where it had faded on a few pieces...

Today, I switched the front porch back over to my normal Summer decor so I decided to do a bit of painting....

This is what these Dollar Tree star yard stakes looked like.....

Also the "Friends" on the sign had turned a bit orange.....

And these flower red, white and blue yard stakes....

 And now.....

I painted a few more other things...

The "friends" on this sign.....

This is what these stars looked like.....

 And now......

 The wreath.....

Much better.......

And this sign......

And now.....

I then sprayed everything with a clear sealant.....

They will look so much better when I decorate the front porch for Labor Day....

We are in for another heat wave this week.....

I  am not happy about it but at least, I hope to get a few more things done in the house.....

I hope you will stop by to visit again on THURSDAY for my next post....
