Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....
I
feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin
Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS
I
enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and
commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have
a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to
spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In my last post, I shared An update on my Cottage Garden Back Yard.....
Click HERE if you missed that post!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....
On THURSDAYS,
I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local
cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...
I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....
Well even though it is MONDAY,
I do not have a Haul to share as I really have curtailed my shopping
this year as part of my Intention to shop my own home and use things I
have in different ways and only buy things I truly need and can use....
Our heat wave, which here in NEPA is 3 consecutive days of 90 degrees, is over!!
Praise the Lord!!
However, it was brought to an end by severe thunderstorms that knocked power out for many here in my area, along with a lot of downed trees after Saturday night's storms , which also ended most of the fireworks displays in our area....
Thank goodness, I was not one of them who lost power or I would have had to go to an air conditioned hotel...
However, we had more storms on Sunday night into Monday and ended up with 5 inches of rain in the 2 days.....
When I looked out into my back yard this morning, this is what I saw.....
Now you may remember that this is what the right back corner of my yard looked like in my last post.....
I could not see my shed.....
At first I thought the tree behind my next door neighbor's yard, that had sprouted up against the fence of the house behind his, was just water laden with all the rain we had....
You can see that it is laying down on my purple leaf plum tree.....
And on my side fence....
I went upstairs and took these pictures from my upstairs sitting room......
I could see that the tree was also hanging down in my next door neighbor's yard....
This is what the tree looks like in my next door neighbor's yard....
As soon as the rain finally stopped, I got my trimmer and went out to cut a path that I could at least get to the shed.....
I was then able to get my tree lopper out of the garden shed.....
I chopped away at the tree, cutting off whatever branches that I could reach so I could see if the tree cracked....
This is the bottom of the trunk of the tree up against the fence of the house behind my next door neighbor's house....
If you look at the top right of the picture, you can see the large branch is split and cracked...
That large branch fell on smaller ones....
And you can see that it cracked another branch......
The only reason why these branches did not land on our back fences is that they are being held up by the arborvitaes that are planted behind our fences that were being killed by this tree.....
Here you can see the arborvitae to the left and the branches hanging into my next door neighbor's yard.....
All the branches that I cut off the tree.....
I cleaned this up as best as I could until it started to rain again....
I filled 6 large garbage bags with tree branches and hauled them down to the dumpsters.....
It is a good thing that we have dumpsters in our development and do not have to pay for garbage.....
This is how it looks like now.....
I contacted the home owner of the house next door and spoke with their tenants....
I then notified my HOA President who did contact the owner of the house, whose property the tree is on who lives in Florida and sent him pictures and told him that he needs to take care of this but I have not heard anything back....
I have a feeling that this is going to be a long drawn out affair.....
I am afraid that if the branch cracks more it will take out our fences but I am thankful that it is not near our houses....
You can now see the arborvitae's behind my fence above the purple leaf plum tree........
I also trimmed the branches away from my fence on the side....
I hope you will stop by to visit again on THURSDAY for my next post......
