I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

More Hens & Roos and Bees in the Kitchen, 2026

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....

I feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I was....

I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

 A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS

I enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my last post, I shared how I decorated the countertop area in my small Kitchen in a Hens, Roos and Bees theme for early Summer....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....

On THURSDAYS, I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...

I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....

On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...

Since it is Monday, Let's see what I bought lately....

I really have curtailed my shopping as I am pretty much shopping my own home....

Last Monday, I shared that I bought 2 bags of potting soil and had it delivered from Home Depot for free....

In that order, which came later, was these 2 cans of Rustoleum Clear Coat which I use on my outside items, especially signs.....

I also ordered 3 rolls of this weather stripping as I am going to put it around my screen door in the front because it is not flush with the door frame.....

I took advantage of a nice cool breezy day yesterday to do some weeding and trimming on the slope in front of my house and my next door neighbor's.....

After trimming the Bejesus out of my forsythia tree.....

And trying to clean up all the leaves from doing so ( yes, I should have used a tarp or something), I decided to order 3 more bags of rubber mulch to fill in a few places out front....

They delivered them in 3 hours for FREE and no membership is required!!!

And that is all I have to share as far as a Haul....

Today, I am going to be finishing up the tour of my Kithcen decorated for early Summer....

In my last post, I left off at the refrigerator......

I like to decorate the top if y fridge.......

On the left side is my rooster that I bought in Big Lot's several years ago......

He does have a plume of tail feathers but it takes up too much room so I removed it.....

On top of the vintage styled bRead box that I bought at Michael's is a "Barn Days" sign......

Egg cups with faux eggs in them flank the sides.....

I bought the salt and pepper shaket set and plate in Gabes last year.....

The sign in front of the lmap came from Dollar Tree........

To the right of the fridge is the door way into the Dining Room....

I hung a long shelf above the door way that goes to the end of the counter bar which is by the doorway to the hall.....

I display antique, vintage and vintage styled Kitchen items on this shelf.......

I will let the pictures of everything I display on this shelf do the talking....

The counter bar that I designed for storage and had a friend of ours build.....

You can see just how small this wall and my Kitchen is as the doorway to the Dining Room is on the left and on the right is the hall.....

Under the shelf that runs the length of this wall, above the counter bar, I keep an evergreen garland up year round so I can use it as a base for other seasonal garlands.....

For early Summer, I added a white and red floral garland and a seed bag garland with bows I made out of red and white and yellow and white checked ribbons.....

I hung Dollar Tree bee signs that I embellished on each end...

I hung a Dollar Tree bee plate on each side wall....

On the left side of the counter bar, is my Laundry display.....

This antique wash board was my late neighbor Elly's....

As was the antique Clorox bottle and iron......

When we replaced the counter tops in the Kitchen, we also had this one replaced too....

 On the left side......

A vintage yellow fiesta ware cup and saucer on a red mercury glass candle holder.....

I bought the pretty quilted runner at the now closed Country Folks Gifts.....

I kept out my Campbell's soup bowls for my cough drops ....

Behind the lamp, which was my late neighbor Elly's, is a pretty lighted Sunflower piece that was gifted to me by my son Jim and his family....

A bee place mat from Dollar Tree with a clear acrylic board over it to put hot times on coming ot of the microwave....

On the right side....

A Campbell's soup bowl filled with candy and granola bars....

I changed out the cafe curtain for a red and white checked one that I made out of a tablecloth.....

Rugs I bought from J.C. Penney's several years back....

On the right side of the counter bar.....

 A vintage chalkboard.....

 A vintage styled Strawberry advertisement....

A vintage apron hangs in the corner.....

The ceramic piece was my Mother's....

I display my collection of rolling pins and mashers in a vintage Planter's Peanuts can....

I tucked some faux red geraniums....

I always hang a valance between the Kitchen and hallway because of the difference in color of the walls...

And that ends my tour of the Kitchen, decorated in a Hens, Roos and Bee theme for Early Summer....

It will stay this way until mid July when I change it over to a late Summer Apple and Sunflower theme...

I hope you will stop by to visit again on THURSDAY for my next pot....
