Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....
I
feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin
Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In my last post, I shared how I decorated the top of the TV Entertainment Center in more of a Winter theme this year....
And now for a few Personal Notes...
For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....
On THURSDAYS,
I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local
cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...
I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....
Since it is Saturday, I should be sharing where I have gone and what I have been up to....
Honestly, I only went to the grocery store this week because it is still very cold but we actually did make it into the 20's.......
Because of that and the Sun that actually came out, my next door neighbor's sidewalk was a sheet of ice as our gutters are directing over the sidewalks....
Yes, we have huge Icicles , which I like to call Stalactites!!
Since they are still away and I have to walk over their sidewalk, which looked like a skating rink, I got my trusty Ice Chopper out and went to work.....
My late husband Joe bought 2 of these, one for the front and one for the back, because we deal with this pretty much every Winter...
I first put Ice Melt, with Calcium Chloride in it as it will work in -20 below temps., down to loosen the ice and then chopped away...
Finally, I got the ice off the sidewalk...
I was afraid of someone falling as I was getting a Sam's Club delivery that day...
I also run into the same problem with my awning over my patio in the back...
I did not shovel any of the 12 inches of snow that fell the week before ...
So I did that and then had to repeat the same process out back with the Ice Chopper and Ice Melt...
If I do not do this and leave the ice there, when it really starts to melt off the awning, water can build up and come close to flooding my Den which almost happened one year...
We have so much snow around here that the contractor who plows the Courts in my townhouse development came to remove some of the snow...
This is where my car was parked on the road during the storm....
I was the only one who thought to shovel a tiny path to the dumpsters and I had also shoveled out our mailboxes....
They now cleared out our dumpsters...
I was the only one who thought to shovel a tiny path to the dumpsters and I had also shoveled out our mailboxes....
Thank goodness as my son Joey takes my garbage out for me and almost killed himself doing so the other evening....
And they were removing the large snow banks at the top of our courts by the woods...
Before it starts to melt and runs down our courts, causing deterioration of the pavement...
I will not be leaving the house this weekend....
It was 14 degrees when I got up at 5:30 am this morning and now at 8am, it is down to 3 degrees....
And it is snowing again....
An inch is predicted....
Wind chill factors today are supposed to be -20 and it is going to be below zero tomorrow...
And then we finally may get above 30 for the first time in almost 3 weeks.....
I like Winter but this has really been a rough one...
My sister Barb came to visit on Thursday morning for my Birthday...
We had a nice visit and I will be sharing what she gifted me on MONDAY.....
Today, I will be continuing the tour of my Living Room decorated for Winter/Heart Month....
We never made a big deal out of Valentine's Day and because I am now a widow, instead of calling it Valentine's decor, I prefer to call it Heart Month decor...
February is designated as American Heart month and to honor my Dad, who passed away from a massive heart attack in February 39 years ago at the age of 67 years old, I leave up
my Winter/Heart Month decor until the last week of February or the first week of March....
Easter is April 5th this year so I will definitely be waiting until the end of February as there will be no hurry to decorate for Easter/Spring...
Today, I will be sharing one of the Trees in the Living Room along with a few vignettes....
The corner by the stairs...
I bought these velvet heart candy boxes, that were filled with candy, many years ago in Target at 75% off....
I then embellished them....
I draped a vintage pearl necklace over the back of the chair...
Gold roses and heart boxes...
Underneath the chair....
I filled the lanterns with red and gold ornaments and Winter decor.....
Next to the chair, on a marble topped cherub planter, is a Tree that I left up after Christmas....
I left the gold tinsel garland and the candle lights on the Tree....
I decorated the Tree for Heart Month in white and red heart ornaments...
I tucked red heart picks into the top of the Tree....
Many of the ornaments on this Tree, I made...
I wrapped a red heart wire garland around it...
And a beautiful Mother's Day gift from my son Jim and his family..
An evergreen swag with red velvet roses on top of the curio.....
I kept out this antique plate, which was gifted to me by my late friend Anne Marie, after Christmas, hanging it here...
Since it is over 100 years old, it qualifies as an antique....
On the side of the curio.......
And placed this pretty Christmas card with a red cardinal on it at it's base...
I want to share what I call the stereo table, across from this corner.....
Joe found this table, which is actually a cart as it has wheels, in an antique co op , and it was perfect for me to put my Nostalgic Stereo system on....
I do not use the turntable even though I did save some of my albums....
I brought back out some of my normal Victorian style decor.....
Since I usually sit in the chair by this table, I use the vintage tea cup to store my eye glass wipes, chap stick, nasal spray ( sinus issues) , etc. in....
I love the cubby holes on the piece...
On the side is a piece that came with a Cynthia Hart Victorian Calendar.....
I brought back my regular decor and added Valentine's decor to it including some vintage Valentine's....
This is where I sit in the evenings and sometimes in the morning.....
I left out the red throws after Christmas....
The Serenity Prayer pillow....
I bought this Winter tree throw in Big Lot's.....
On the soffit between the Living Room and Dining Room....
A swag above the cherub plaque....
Replacing the green velvet bows from Christmas with these red tassels....
And this is where I will leave off today......
I hope you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY for my next post....
