I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

I feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I was....

I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

Happy Valentine's Day to all my Family and Friends!!

Happy Valentine's Day to the LOVES of my Life!!

My Late husband Joe and I celebrated Valentine's Day more as a family instead of a couple....

I hope you get to spend part of this weekend with those you love whether it be family or friends!!!

For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....

On THURSDAYS, I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...

I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....

On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...

Since it is SATURDAY, I will be sharing what I have been up to lately...

On Wednesday, we had our monthly Senior Social Club meeting...

Our speaker was a local attorney who is certified in Elder Law and Estate Planning...

He did a really interesting presentation and gave us so much information about Long Term Care planning...

There were a lot of questions afterward too...

I set the tables with red tablecloths for Heart Month....

And served pizza for lunch on Valentine's plates with matching napkins....

I only bought 30 plates and ran out of them....

Since we are a new group, we only started to collect dues, which is $10/year, for the last 2 meetings and I am thrilled to say that we now have 30 members!!

And we do expect more to join as we have some snowbirds which will be coming back to NEPA from points South soon....

We wish members who have a Birthday each month a Happy Birthday  with cup cakes...

My friend Kathy baked Snickerdoodle cookies and another friend Marianne made scones...

It was an enjoyable time together and we have a few things now scheduled....

Several of us are going out to lunch next week and in March , we will be attending the play "Fiddler on the Roof' presented by a local High School group of which our parish organist is the musical director....

On Thursday evening, I had a Pastoral Council meeting so I got to spend some time with a different group of friends...

It was nice to get out as I had been staying home because of all the snow and single digit temps....

Today, we are staying in the Dining Room as I continue to share my Winter/Heart Month decorations for this year....

My Dining Room is my most Victorian looking room as I tried to style it like a Victorian Tea Room.....

And that is why I have decorated it with mostly Valentine's Decor for Heart Month.....

Over recent years, I leave all my Winter and Valentine's Decor up til the end of February to honor my Dad who passed away suddenly from a massive Heart Attack in February, 39 years ago....

I will pick up where I left off and share the small curio next to the buffet which I decorated a Cupid's Cafe again this year....

A cherub on a Home Interiors shelf.....

 On top of the curio.....

A framed vintage Valentine, and a heart box that was gifted to me by a reader of this blog a few years ago....

I bought the brass candle sticks at a church flea market 2 years ago....

The brass fans were bought at a yard sale over 25 years ago....

This small curio, along with a matching taller one, came from my late neighbor Elly's home....

It is filled with vintage dishes in the pattern of the dishes that Joe's maternal grandmother had....

2 of my Victorian Doll Collection....

Today, I am skipping over the hutch as I will be sharing that in MONDAY'S post......

And moving to the corner by the Living Room across from the hutch.......

The top of a cabinet , bough at a yard sale many years ago for $5.....

My son Jim and his family gifted me this stunning lighted roses under a cloche....

A few pink hearts....

In this corner is my 6 ft. pencil thin Tree that I bought 2 years ago.....

On the side of the Tree.....

This year, I moved this pedestal, bought at a church flea market, over by the Tree.....

And placed this sweet Bearington Bear on top of it.....

This was gifted to me by my dear friend Anne Marie, who had an extensive collection of Bearington Bears....

Below is a link to a blog post I did on her home decorated for Winter with mostly Bearington Bears....

Click HERE to see the blog post....

 On the vintage window divider...

 I hung 2 hearts that I made....

And a Dollar Tree Kissing Booth sign that I embellished.....

I decorated this Tree for Heart Month in a pink and white color theme....

I topped the Tree with a bow made from a solid pink ribbon and a rose ribbon that I had bought many years ago on Clearance after Christmas in Bon Ton when they still carried their pink Victorian Christmas decor line......

I tucked pink heart picks into the top of the Tree.....

I made a few ornaments for this Tree over the years....

I painted these pink and filled them with white flowers....

I also made Victorian style ones like the heart in this picture....

 And a few envelope ones.....

I left the same tree skirt in place that I used for Christmas.....

I moved this Lenox house, that was a gift, from the Living Room where I had it for Christmas, over here on the Tree Skirt....

And kept this rocking horse where it was during Christmas....

To the right of the Tree....

On a marble topped plant stand.....

I just saw an article that marble topped tables and stands are coming back in style again.....

I bought the pink lace topper many years ago on EBay....

I placed a pink mercury glass candle holder that I bought a long time ago in Michael's inside of a vintage milk glass compote bowl.....

I placed a paper floral arrangement that was gifted to me by my son Jim and his family one Mother's Day....

I love that it does not die like real flowers....

I also placed a pink heart and a vintage styled Valentine inside the bowl....

 Along with a candle ring....

A handmade Valentine's card that I received from a friend....

The wall behind the Dining Room table.....

I hung hearts from the Home Interiors sconces on each side of the picture.....

On the left side....

On the right side.....

On the shelf......

A heart candy box that I embellished.....

2 Victorian style heart boxes....

And I already shared this corner by the Kitchen.....

And that is it for today....

As I mentioned, I will be leaving my Winter/Heart Month Decor up until the end of February so I will be finishing up my tour of the Dining Room in my next post on MONDAY....
