I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

In my last post, I shared how my downstairs Powder Room looks devoid of Christmas and Winter decor...

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

I want to Thank to Barb, over at French Ethereal, for choosing my post, Spring/Easter Front Porch and Home Tour, as one of her features from last week's Share Your Style Linky Party!!

Thanks so much, Barb!!

Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!

Can you believe it is May already???

Seems like this year is flying by or is it just me???

I am glad I took these pictures of this bush that I managed to save in my next door neighbor's yard when we re-landscaped their slope a few years ago....

The wicked wind that we had on Sunday blew all it's blooms off!!

Since today is the first day of May....

I thought that I would share how I did with my Goals for the month of April on my Spring/2nd Quarterly Goals List.....

My Goals are more of a To Do List for each Month and Season of the year....

So let's see how I did in the month of April!!!

APRIL

Start walking! - NOPE! But in my defense, I have been doing my stationary bike after I took 2 tumbles and the bike did help with discomfort I was having in my knees......

Watch Wicked on Paramount + as I never got to see it in person - NOPE!  My Bad!

Go and see Cirque Du Soliel OVO at our arena - YES, I went with my sister and we thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Pack away outdoor Winter decor and haul it down to storage shed - YES!!

Clean front porch, bring furniture from back out to front and decorate it for Spring/Easter - YES but I did not bring the furniture from the back out to the front as I left the one chair that I had out on the porch over the Winter there....

Call and schedule the landscaper to mulch the front flower beds and slope - NOPE!!  I will be waiting on that as the HOA is replacing sidewalks in front of my house so I will wait until they are done with that...

Pack away Winter in the Den and redecorate the Den in Americana decor - YES, finished it on Tuesday!!

I will be sharing more on the Den in future posts....

Mulch the back yard _ NOPE!  Hope to do that next week.... But I did manage to clean up half of the back yard yesterday....

And plan to do the other half today!!

Uncover everything covered on the back patio, clean, set up and decorate the back patio for Summer - NOPE, not yet....

Schedule an appointment for an oil change for the car _ YES!  Got the car inspected and an oil change

Schedule an appointment to have the car detailed after the Winter - YES!  Scheduled for late May..

Now let's look ahead at my revised Goals for May!

I did manage to check one thing off of my Goals List for May already....

MAY

Look into purchasing some faux flowers for the back patio pots that I can use year after year - YES! I did buy quite a bit of faux flowers...

Walk at least 5 days a week - Honestly, I can not promise this as I seem to have a mental block for some reason about walking and I think it could be because Joe and I walked our Grand Pups for over 2 years before the Twins were born and he passed away...I haven't really gone walking since he passed

See Alice Copper in concert at our Arena - Joey and I have our tickets and are looking forward to going to a concert that all 3 of us had tickets to see but was cancelled during the Pandemic!!

Decorate the Front Porch for Summer and Memorial Day - will wait until my new sidewalks are put in within the next week or two

Pack up Easter in the Living Room

Clean and decorate the Living Room for the Summer Patriotic Holidays

Pack up Easter in the Dining Room

Clean and decorate the Dining Room in a Tea Room theme for the Summer

Pack up Easter in the Kitchen

Clean and decorate the Kitchen in the early Summer Hen/Roos theme

Clean out the flower bed by our mailboxes and put mulch down

Put up the new shades in the bedroom that I ordered last Fall

Have my son Jim put the air conditioners in the windows

Buy annual flowers for the front yard and plant them

Sparingly buy flowers for the back yard

Goals moved to May from APRIL

Mulch the back yard

Set up the back Patio

Have the front yard mulched

Watch Wicked

I think I did not do too badly in April considering I did need to give myself some Grace as the one year anniversary of Joe's passing was April 16th....

I also wanted to touch upon how I am doing with some things on my Possibilities List..

Being more Mindful of how I am spending my time and doing things with Intention...

" Living intentionally means making deliberate choices and aligning actions with your values to create a meaningful and fulfilling life. It's about prioritizing what truly matters, focusing on personal growth, and avoiding unintentional actions or habits. Essentially, it's about "commanding your day" rather than passively existing"

  Because.....

And I do not want to waste any of the time that I have left!!

I have been more mindful of how I am spending my time and I feel I am doing that by making my Daily and Weekly To Do Lists .....

When I intentionally plan out my days, I feel I am not wasting my time but prioritizing it...

 I am also continuing to....

Once the one year anniversary of Joe's passing passed, I felt as if a weight was lifted off my shoulders ..

And once we celebrated Easter, I felt that we had finally made it through that first year of Holidays and Seasons without him...

I had a wonderful Easter spent with my family and grand pups!

I am looking forward to May....

M - Hopefully making it count

A - Accomplishing most of my Goals

Y - Yes, I can do this!

I hope you enjoying this post!!

And I hope you will stop by to visit again on SATURDAY for my next post!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  3. I was going to start outside walking too, but was busy with family visiting from the west coast in Canada and having lousy weather. I used the treadmill when possible. My May goal is to get walking outside and hopefully lose sone winter weight. You did well with your goals. Hoping that it doesn’t get really hot all at once. Love the artificial flowers you have and think it is a fantastic idea.

    1. Linda,
I seem to have some sort of mental block when it comes to walking...Hopefully, I can get moving and start doing so..I really should go to the mall and walk in the mornings as it is right down the road...Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments...
      Hugs,

  4. I'd say you've done a terrific job with goals, Debbie. Some you couldn't do if you tried this month, given the knee and sidewalk issues, so those don't even count against your hoped-for tally. Well done!
