I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

We have been stuck in a rainy pattern since last Friday with only a dry day or two...

This is how much rain we received from Friday a week ago, which started with a sudden downpour, until Wednesday when we had a bit of a break in the rain...

Almost 3 inches!!

And this is how much we got from Thursday evening til this morning when the rain finally stopped!!!

Close to an additional 2 1/4 inches!!

Yes, there was some flash flooding especially up in the Pocono's which had even more rain then this!!

We were behind in our annual rain fall for the year but now I think we have caught up!

I always say that Mother Nature will always correct herself as that is what Mother's do, right???

Wishing you all a very Happy Mother's Day!!

I hope you get to spend some time with those that you love...

We will be celebrating Mother's Day as a family on Tuesday when my son Jim and DIL Danielle are off as they work every weekend so they can have 2 days off together...

I am really looking forward to it...

Today, I will be continuing the tour of my Den.....

Over the years, I decided to decorate this room in the color theme of ivory, beige, blue and burgundy...

Along with decorating it with red and blue transferware dishes and English Cottage styled accessories....

I will begin where I left off in my last post...

 At the back door...

I decided to leave the burgundy lace curtains up for now....

My Thomas Kinkade 4 Seasons clock....

A Thomas Kinkade mug and a Thomas Kinkade Angel....

It has been a long time since I used this lamp shade that I bought on EBay many years ago....

It came from an Ebay store that sold hand made lamp shades...

I hung this ornament that my husband Joe bought for me at the Flight 93 National Memorial...

Joe bought this table, along with the one in my previous post, at a church flea market for $6 each and I refinished both of them.....

On the end table....

The vintage camera, called a Brownie, was my Mother's....

The vintage door knob was bought at a yard sale....

Just one of the vintage lamps in my Collection........

The picture on the left is of what I call "Instant Relatives" meaning I bought it at a flea market...

This picture is of my Mother and her parents....

I am using this blue transferware dish as a coaster....

Love the cottage design on it....

The ottoman next to the table.....

That envelope was hand made by my FB friend Angela...

Some Americana signs that Joe bought on clearance in Big Lot's for 90% off....

 Home Interiors shelves....

A Lena Liu Plate that I bought at a church flea market....

Home Interiors Denim Days figurines.....

Another sign......

My computer armoire.....

On top of it.....

I left the stained glass lamp here after Christmas/Winter.....

I did a bird theme here....

The Home Interiors Guardian Angel figurine goes with the matching picture hanging on the wall behind it....

I used several blue transferware pieces....

A nest and a real blue jay feather inside of a ruby red depression glass bowl....

The candle was gifted to me by my son Jim and DIL Danielle on a previous Mother's Day....

By October, my computer tower will not be able to be upgraded to Windows 11 so I will be buying a docking station for my lap top so I can still use this larger monitor and key board....

So happy that my son Joey is my personal IT Specialist...

Next to the computer armoire....

A floral arrangement I did in a basket that was my late neighbor Elly's...

 A vintage smoking table....

 A bird cage....

A cloth bird ornament is hanging in the bird cage with a bird's nest with eggs in it on the bottom of the cage......

A lighted cottage plate..

Nelson Crest is on a table in the corner....

I will be sharing Nelson Crest all decked out in her Patriotic finery in a future post!

The chair next to my Victorian Doll house....

I leave this "Believe" sign up year round, reminding me to believe in myself....

I was gifted this gnome by my niece Renae and great nieces, Cort, Cait and Carly , one Christmas....

I just placed a small tea stained flag over his plaid hat for the Summer...

And this is where I will leave off for today.....

In my next post on MONDAY, I will be finishing up my tour of the Den, decorated in an English Country Cottage theme with a touch of Americana, with how I decorated the China Cupboard and area around it in an Americana theme....

And Tree....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY....

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. I love your patriotic country cottage den! I can see why you enjoy spending time there! Isn't it nice to have your own IT Tech! I know we will have to upgrade our church charity office computer in October. We were donated the desktop we are currently using by a business when they upgraded. It's always something.

  2. That's a lot of rain, Debbie! I smiled when I read your statement about Mother Nature correcting herself. That's what mothers do.

  3. Your country cottage den looks adorable Debbie. We have a similar stain glass lamp with the dragonfly too. <3 Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day with your granddaughters. We have had a lot of rain here too, but it seems it cleared up for Sunday, but supposed to have more today. Working indoors today, cleaning, yuck! lol. Hope you have a wonderful week, thanks for visiting.

  4. Hi Deb, love the patriotic decor, always. I need to do a little patriotic decorating and I will leave it up til after Labor Day. Glad you left the burgundy curtains up too!
My old laptop crooked a couple months ago so I bought a new one with Windows 11. Hoping it lasts me a long, long time. I don't have a desktop computer anymore, have used a laptop for 10 years or so.
    Everything looks very nice!

  5. Wow! That's a lot of rain in a short amount of time! I'm guessing everything was quite saturated, at least for a few days! I pray that the areas that faced flash flooding last month are recovering quickly! I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day celebration with your family (on Tuesday - I'm writing this early on Wednesday morning, 5/14. Can't wait to hear all abou it!

  6. We had a few days like that too where it just poured and we got so much rain.. .with a bit of flash flooding as well. Luckily it seems to have all receded by now and while we do have more rain in Friday's forecast it doesn't sound like anywhere near that much.
