I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Valentine's Dessert/ Hot Cocoa Buffet and More in the Dining Room, 2023

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I am now posting 3 times a week !!!

I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Happy Groundhog Day!!!

Phil saw his Shadow so there will be 6 more weeks of Winter!!!!

Hopefully we will get some snow because with no Snow Pack from the Winter to melt in the Spring, we could be under Waster Restrictions into the Spring/Summer!

Joe and Joey stopped in to visit Punxsutawney in 2019 on their way home from their annual trip to Pittsburgh to see a Penguins Hockey Game....

These are just some of the many "Phil's" around the town!!

Click HERE if you would like to see the post I did on their trip to Punxsutawney.....

Today, I will be sharing something a bit different this year in the Dining Room.....

I decided to set up a Valentine's Candy and Cocoa Bar on the buffet...

In my last post, I shared the last part of my Tour of the Kitchen decorated for Winter....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

I want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for choosing my post, Winter Red Cardinal Tree and Hutch in the Kitchen, as her Editor's Choice from last week's Wonderful Wednesdays link Party!!

 Thanks so much, Bev!!

Please stop by and link up to this charming party!!

I decorate the Dining Room and the Living Room strictly for Valentine's, even though we really do not celebrate the Day itself....

We stopped doing that once the kids left our house as we used to celebrate it as a family instead of a couple....

BUT.....

February is Heart Month as deemed by the American Heart Association.....

Heart Disease reigned supreme in my Dad's family taking him at the age of 67 years old, a victim of a sudden Heart Attack, along with several of his siblings and his Mother....

I will leave my Valentine's Heart decorations up until the last week of February in celebration of their lives for Heart Month....

Today, I will be sharing something a bit different on the Dining Room buffet.....

We will start in the corner.....

I hung a Dollar Tree Kissing Booth sign that I embellished last year on an old Home Interiors picture....

I left the lighted branch Tree in the Dining Room after Christmas.....

I left the white snowflakes on it and added a few Valentine ornaments that I made out of tags I bought on EBay many years ago.....

This year, I decided to set up a combination Dessert and Hot Cocoa Bar on the buffet.....

We will start on the left side......

The large vintage Valentine's Card was my neighbor Elly's, which I embellished.....

 Apothecary jars filled with candy.....

The cupcake dishes were bought many years ago at The Christmas Tree Shop.....

I used these gold mercury glass pedestals that I bought after Christmas in Dollar General...

I placed a tiered dish on top of one......

It was a gift from a friend....

All faux "goodies".....

I hung a cupcake ornament on it.....

Heart shaped dishes with more faux pastries.......

On a Home Interiors shelf above the buffet......

The picture in the frame is of Joe's maternal Grandparents on their Wedding Day!!!!

2 vintage Valentine's Cards.....

A red and white tea pot on top of the other pedestal.....

On another heart shaped plate....

Valentine's Hot Chocolate Bombs from Dollar Tree.....

And some faux heart shaped cookies....

I bought a package of 5 boxes of Sweetheart candies at Big Lot's to use throughout the display....

2 Valentine's mugs......

Filled with marshmallows, peppermint sticks and spoons and lollipops!!

I made this Valentine's "Gumball Machine" last year.....

I am happy with how it turned out....

Next to the buffet is a small curio....

On the wall above the curio....

On an old Home Interiors shelf......

On the top of the curio....

Pink Valentine's cards....

I do love the ambient lighting in the evening....

Speaking of lighting, I want to share how I decorated the Chandy in the Dining Room for Valentine's.....

I hung some metal gold hearts....

And some pink hearts....

I hope you enjoyed seeing my Valentine's Dessert/Hot Cocoa Buffet in the Dining Room....

It took me 3 days to change over the Dining Room from Christmas to Valentine's....

In my next post on SATURDAY, I will be sharing the rest of the Dining Room decorated for Valentine's....

And a few more Valentine's Trees.......

And some Valentine's crafts!!

So I hope you will stop by to visit again on SATURDAY!!!!

  1. Groovy Groundhogs Day! I made the grandkids some sausage patties for breakfast and attached some candy eyes with syrup. I used to do a whole meal in groundhog fashion, but I am getting older, LOL.

Your house is a Valentine Wonderland!
