I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

What's in Your Hutch/Curio? Part 6 in the Series

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

ANNOUNCEMENT

I am going to start posting 3 times a week starting on TUESDAY September 13th...

Shorter posts might be a bit easier for me to do so after this post, I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY

With the beginning of Fall, the HOLIDAY SEASON starts for me....

I consider the Holiday Season from September until after Easter as I decorate for all the Holidays and Seasons in between those months....

So I usually have a lot to share....

I have been told my posts are too long and some computers that are not updated have a hard time loading all the pictures...

So I will be doing shorter posts but 3 times a week instead of only 2...

I hope I can keep up with that schedule so we will see how it works out...

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I will be continuing with my Series, "What's in Your Hutch/Curio?"  and sharing what is inside  my China Cupboard in the Den....

In my last post, I shared the Americana decor in the Den that has been up since April....

Click HERE if you missed it.....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

 Food of the Week

The other day I made simple BBQ chicken on the George Foreman Grill....

Done in 8 minutes....

I made Knorr Herb and Butter Rice to go with it.....

On Friday, Joey treated us to hoagies from one of our favorite places, Serpico's....

I forgot to take pictures....

Joe went into work on Saturday evening and since Joe does not like Chinese, Joey treated me to Chicken Lo Mien minus the veggies....

 So good.....

I did manage to clean and pack away all of my late Summer "Under the Sea; decorations in the Living Room this week...

I also stripped down the Seasonal Tree in the Living Room......

This coming week, I will be changing all the drapes, curtains and linens to Fall/Winter ones before I start to decorate the Living Room for Fall.....

I took advantage of the cooler weather that we had the last few days and packed up not only the Patriotic decorations from the front porch and yard but also packed up the Summer porch decor and garden art.....

I rolled up the Summer outdoor mat that I had on the porch after letting it dry out from all the rain we had last week!!

And I did pull out those tall spindly looking marigolds.....

I put out the new front door mat with the B on it that Joe bought on Clearance in Big Lot's....

And put out my Fall flags...

On Saturday, I decorated the porch and the yard for Fall with a touch of Halloween.....

I will be sharing my Fall Front Porch and Yard on TUESDAY in my next post.....

I did share how the china cupboard in the Den looks "normally" in the Summer in my last post....

The China Cupboard was given to me by a former neighbor, who was going to throw it out, and I refinished it...

Since the Den is decorated in a burgundy, blue and ivory color theme, my Collection of red and blue transferware dishes work so well with this room that also has an English Country feel.....

Joe bought these paper place mats last year...

This one was the same colors of the Den so I taped 3 place mats to the back of the cupboard, providing a back ground.....

 Top shelf.....

I have collected red and blue transferware for many years...

Middle shelf....

Buying it at yard sales, flea markets, thrift stores and estate sales......

Bottom shelf....

The China Cupboard will stay this way until I decorate it for Christmas at the end of October....

Yes, I do the upstairs and the Den in October as it took 30 days to decorate the house, both inside and out, for Christmas last year and that was faster than the year before which took me 33 days!!

I do change up this China Cupboard for Christmas.....

I leave some of the pieces of blue transferware in it and add Christmas Items to it....

Top Shelf....

 Middle Shelf...

 Bottom Shelf.....

Click HERE if you would like to see this post....

And for Winter.....

I pretty much leave the inside looking like it did for Christmas ...

But change up the area underneath and around the China Cupboard for Winter.....

Click HERE if you missed this post!

For Saint Patrick's Day, this is the only area in the house that I decorate as the rest of the house is decorated for Easter at that time....

I decorate the whole area around the China Cupboard for the Holiday....

And I use my collection of Old Curiosity Shop dishes inside of it along with some pieces of green depression glass.....

The top shelf.....

The middle shelf....

On the bottom shelf...

And underneath it...

Click HERE if you would like to see that post...

I hope you enjoyed seeing What's in my China Cupboard in the Den....

And I hope you will stop by to visit again on TUESDAY when I will be sharing how I decorated my Front Porch and front yard for Early Fall......

  1. Your lovely transferware! I love all the colors you have and the fact that you collected it piece by piece makes it even more special! All your hutches this year have been just beautiful!

You have been full of energy. We did have one cooler afternoon and I took summer off my porch. I am slowly switching to fall and hope to do a post soon. It was simple and quick, but I even did a craft! You inspire me.
