Just a reminder, I will be posting on Wednesdays

Today, I will be sharing my annual Easter/Spring Home Tour and a few more crafts with you.....
Please remember that on Tuesday, April 12th, I will be participating in the Easter on a Tray Blog Tour hosted by Katherine from Katherine's Corner!!.....
And I will be moving my normal Wednesday post to Thursday and sharing my friend Anne Marie's Easter Home Tour with you.....
And I also want to Thank
Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for featuring my post, Pink Easter Tree and More in the Dining Room, from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Link Party!!!!!
Please stop by and link up to these charming parties!!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
Not much to share in this post...
On Friday, we once again got potato pancakes from the Holy Trinity Orthodox church ......
So good!!
We had them with a small round Price Chopper pizza for only $4.99!!
Joe picked up 2 more loaves of Banana Bread for the Amish Farmer who sets up stands at the Valley Mart down the street from us....
And a bag of fresh homemade cheese curd!!!
Joey and I love this!!
Joe has also been on the hunt for a small turkey breast , around 6 pounds, for Easter....
Since I serve ham, kielbasi, sausage filling , mashed potatoes and gravy and corn for Easter dinner, a small turkey breast is all I need for my family of 5....
He checked out Price Chopper 3 times and finally found this!!!
A 3 pound BONELESS Turkey Breast!!
So this is all 3 pounds of goodness with no bone....
We figure that because of that, we should get close to the equivalent of the amount of meat from a 6 pounder with a bone....
Well, we will surely see next Sunday!!
Since we bought the potato pancakes and pizza on Friday, Joey treated us to dinner on Saturday instead of Friday....
He was hungry for hoagies so he ordered from one of our favorite places, Serpico's....
Joe got a plain cheese steak hoagie and only could finish a half of his....
It was really good but in order to finish it, I took the meat off the bun at the ends...too much bread for me....
And Joey got 2 slices of buffalo chicken pizza....
And a cheese steak hoagie with mushrooms....
He ate all of his!!
LOL!!
Like my Father always used to say..."He's just a growing boy"!!!
On Wednesday, we treated my niece Renae and my great nieces Carly and Caitlin to a Hockey game....
Since we are 5 year commitment Season Ticket Holders, we get to go into the arena 15 minutes before the general public does....
Joe usually does about 5-6 laps around the entire concourse of the arena during this time...
I did 2 laps around....
I took this picture of the Ice.....
This is a new lounge that is right on the ice with a band ....
For an extra $20, Season ticket holders can sit there and get unlimited chicken fingers and hot dogs for the night...
This is the view from our seats as you can see we are almost center Ice....
My great niece Cortney is part of the Ice Crew....
And there she is with the baseball cap on in the bottom right corner, asking all the players to move so she can come through!!!
She said she absolutely LOVES this job!!
We were so busy talking I forgot to get pictures of Renae and the girls!!
We had a great time!!
And yes, I actually left the house other then my once a month hair cut appointment!!!
That is why we having been having some snow showers this weekend!!!
LOL!!
Before we move on, I want to share a few more Easter Crafts that I did this week....
I used to make Victorian Tussie Mussies that I sold on Ebay and at local Craft Fairs when I was a vendor....
I still have quite a bit of paper mache cones left in my stash even after using the smaller ones to make these 2 wreaths for Christmas....
This one was mine....
And I made and gifted this one to my friend Anne Marie, who had gifted me her Mother's music sheet books, which I used to make the wreaths....
I am on a "Carrot" kick after I made this....
This "Carrot" Can gave me the idea to do something similar with one of the larger cones which do look like a carrot....
This is what I came up with.....
After browsing Pinterest , I compiled a bunch of different ideas on what I could do ....
So I simply painted the cone using 2 different shades of orange to create some shading on the cone....
And I, once again, simply wrote on a piece of burlap and adhering it to the cone using Spray Adhesive.....
Looking through my seemingly endless stash, I found a few trims that I thought would work.....
An orange trim with beads to add a bit of Glam and the bright green loop trim that, to me, resembles the leaves at the top of a carrot.....
Now I needed to fill the top with something....
I decided to cut out a bunny from a piece of burlap that I have and hand sew it together using a contrasting orange embroidery floss ( which I also have way too much of)
The stitches are no way perfect because by the time I was done, my arthritic hands and fingers were killing me!!!!
But it sufficed!!
I first put in a piece of styrofoam, glued some Spanish Moss to it then glued in the bunny ....
Next I added 2 of the clothespin "carrots" that I have been making and an egg.....
I think it came out okay....
I added trims around the edges, which were a bit rough looking as I used to hang this outside on the front porch.....
Added a red bow to the existing one and a big yellow rose rose at the top....
I will be sharing where I put these 2 things in the Kitchen a little later on in this post....
Joe had bought a set of 2 kitchen towels at Target which were peach ....
They did not go with my red kitchen so I decided that I would use them for fabric.....
Once again, I have been seeing so many bunnies made from fabric on Pinterest....
So I cut out this simple pattern.....
And made these....
I then simply sewed them together, turned them and then stuffed them with poly fil....
I then added a bow and ribbon flowers to them....
I needed something to put them in and I remembered that I have this container from Dollar Tree....
I am happy with how it looks....
I also will be sharing where I put this in my Living Room in a bit....
I also will be sharing where I put this in my Living Room in a bit....
For the past 2 weeks, Joe and I had not had to go to take out our Grand Pups in the mornings when my son Jim and his wife, Danielle , were at work because, unfortunately, Jim had to have his one eye that he had surgery on in December, to lift up a drooping eye lid that was interfering with his vision, redone...
He was not pleased with the result on the one eye from that surgery and apparently, neither was the surgeon who performed it....
So 2 weeks ago, they redid the surgery for FREE!!!!
Imagine that...
Jim is now pleased with how it looks and his vision is not impaired....
Thank Goodness this one went well and both Jim and Danielle returned to work this morning and we got to see our sweet grand pups!!
Okay, now on to my annual Easter /Spring Home Tour....
We will start in the front of the house...
I usually do not do much decorating outside for Easter as depending when Easter is, we could still have snow on the ground or get snow showers like are predicted for this weekend!!!
As you can see by the bag of Ice melt left on my neighbor's porch next door for us to use on the sidewalks as we take care of hers as they are still working on remodeling the house....
We did put the shovels, Ice Scraper and snow broom out in the back yard , just in case, so I had Joe bring the chairs and tables up from our storage shed that we rent......
After Easter, I will have him bring up the garden and porch things from the shed and I will set up and decorate the porch for the Summer....
I hung a Spring wreath that I made a long time ago....
And I hung a few Easter things from the weeping mortar...
A Bunny that Joe bought last year at Big Lot's for 90% off....
And another sign, that I dabbled with a bit, that he bought at 905 off.....
I also added a pink bow to the front porch light....
And I changed out the flag for an Easter one....
Not much going on in the yard....
I did put out my Spring and Easter mini flags...
Right now the only signs of Spring are the Forsythias are starting to bloom....
These are my neighbor Khalid's....
I do have buds on my lilac tree in the back yard which is usually in bloom in May....
And that is about it for now in the front of the house....
Let's continue the tour inside....
THE LIVING ROOM......
Easter Tree # 1
Easter Tree # 2
Easter Tree # 3
Here is where I put the Bunnies I made...
THE DINING ROOM

This is where I put the can of "carrots" I made....
And here is where I hung the "Carrot" Tussie Mussie I created....
I took down the Hen plaque and hung the Easter egg that I embellished in it's place....
THE POWDER ROOM
I have not shared the Powder Room in previous post as I do not do a lot of Easter in the room...
Just a wreath in the door....
An Egg wreath I made years ago.....
And an Easter Snow Buddy along with some eggs I embellished on top of the toilet....
And an embellished egg and Easter bottle on this stand....

I like the wreaths, so many to choose from. My favs would be the spring flowers and crochet or knitted cross. Thanks so much for linking up at the Unlimited Link Party 74. Pinned.
ReplyDeleteLoving all the wonderful pictures and as usual girl, you have some of the cutest things that you decorate with. Those potato pancakes look divine. All those food pictures has me wanting to eat something now! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your son's second surgery was successful! Unfortunate he had to go through it twice, though. Your home is just so festive. You do such a great job "spicing up" Joe's finds and other items. The hockey game sounds really fun, glad you got out and about. And glad that Spring is in the air!
ReplyDeleteThose potato pancakes looked amazing and so did Joey's hoagie. You always have the best food pictures on your blog. You all eat well. I loved all your Easter trees, but my favorite was Easter tree #3 and I adore those two nutcracker bunnies. It was all so pretty and I enjoyed all your Easter decor. A turkey and snow for Easter? Sounds more like Thanksgiving than Easter. I'd love some snow for Easter, but it isn't in the cards for us. Happy Easter to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking the time to visit and then letting me know that you did by leaving such a kind comment!! Yes, turkey and snow does sound like Thanksgiving rather than Easter!!!Happy Easter to you and yours!!
DeleteHugs,
Deb

ReplyDeleteV,
DeleteThanks once again for stopping by and for your sweet words!! Happy Easter to you and your family!!!
Hugs,
Deb
I'm finally back after an almost 3 month break. Love the bunny that Joe got for you last year. Lots of good food, hockey entertainment, and Easter decorating. It still isn't quite warm enough to start outside decorating here, though I keep putting the odd bit out on the warm spells we are having. Have a egg-cellent day.
ReplyDeleteLove the bunny in the carrot and I'd kill for a good potato pancake! Lots of activity in your world and lots of prettiness, too! Happy week!
ReplyDeleteThis Easter, your house has definitely changed its appearance and transformed into an adorable look. Thank you for providing us with so many craft ideas. I love your Easter tablescape.
ReplyDeleteAydan,
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by and for leaving such a kind comment!!! I am thrilled I can give you some craft ideas...Wishing you a Happy Easter!!
Hugs,
Deb
You always have such wonderful decorations. My mom made an egg tree, but it was for Christmas with blown egg shells and handpainted. I still have most of them forty years later. - Margy
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous Deb! I had more fun scrolling through your pictures but then I always do. I love every last thing that you made but I am crazy about the little bunnies in the flower bucket. Adorable! I spent the longest time at Nelson Crest. I love it! The detail you put into everything is amazing. Thanks so much for doing what you do. I always leave your home with a smile on my face! Happy Easter to all of you!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, your little bunny in the carrot is so cute--pinned! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!

ReplyDeleteThe food looks so yummy, as always! I can't even remember the last time we got take out... my boys are getting pizza tonight and us adults are heading out to dinner. Your house looks lovely all decked out for Easter. I didn't decorate it at all this year.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post with so many wonderful Easter decorations! Wishing you and your family a beautiful Easter holiday!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got out and enjoyed the game. All of your Easter decorations are lovely as always. What is the next phase of decorating for you? Thanks for sharing. #HomeMattersParty
