I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

A Bit of Easter "Dabbling"...

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Just a reminder, I will be posting on Wednesdays and Sundays every week so be sure to check back on those days to see a new post......

In my previous post, I shared my Bunny Tea Buffet in the Dining Room....

A very early Spring Front Porch....

 And a Double Rainbow!!!

Click HERE if you missed this post!!

I want to Thank Dee, over at Grammy's Grid, for featuring my post, An Easter Tree in the Living Room, as one of her features from her Themed Link Party for Spring Craft and Decor!!!!

Thanks so much, Dee!!!

Stop by and Link up to her new Themed Party featuring Tablescapes!!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

 Food of the Week

We celebrated our DIL Danielle's 40th Birthday on Sunday even though her Birthday is Today...

She has been such a Blessing in our lives and has fit right in with our family even though many of our traditions were quite "foreign" to her....

We could not be any prouder of her and Jim and are so glad to have her in our family.....

As per what has become our tradition, we have a Pizza Party to celebrate family Birthdays at home where everyone can relax....

The One whose Birthday it is gets to chose what kind of Pizza and from where depending on what is open if it is a Sunday as some of our favorite places are closed on Sundays....

Danielle chose Norm's Pizza and Eatery....

She chose a tray of Sicilian Pizza with pepperoni and bacon on it....

And a Specialty Taco Sicilian Pizza.....

Since Joey and Joe would not even think of touching the Taco Pizza, we also got 2 orders of Boneless Chicken Bites....

And since we are not big on any type of baked goods, we have switched from regular Birthday cakes to Ice Cream cakes...

This one was a Friendly's cake....

All were so very good!!!!

These were the ReHeat and Eat meals this week from the Wilkes Barre Scranton Food Service....

General Tso’s Chicken w/ Pork Fried Rice & Stir Fry Vegetables
Breaded Chicken Bites coated w/ Sweet & Spicy Sauce served over fried rice & vegetables

Chicken Scampi w/ Cavatappi Pasta & Grilled Seasonal Vegetables
Breaded chicken topped w/ lemon garlic butter/ Cavatappi pasta & Grilled Seasonal Vegetables

Chef Steve felt bad because we also ordered a dinner of Lasagna Roll Ups and Joe gave his up to a customer ...

So Chef Steve gifted Joe some Jerk Chicken that he was making for the players to make up for it....

I think he more than made up for it!!!!

He does not overly spice food so this is actually really good as I am not able to eat spicy food without dire consequences....!!!!!

We will be having them all this for dinner today....

Getting back to Danielle's Birthday Celebration....

We gift money for Birthdays and a few Scratch Off Lottery tickets and Danielle was lucky, winning $25 on a $5 scratch off....

Of course, our Grand Pups also came along for the party.....

Azumi is definitely Mama's Girl!!!

While Faye is definitely Daddy's Girl!!!!

She was stationed out in the hall way waiting for Jim to come out of the Bathroom.....

Azumi does love to lick and give kisses!!!

After they were running around, Faye needed a rest....

Azumi and G Pop!!

Azumi and Uncle Joey!!

Azumi has now mastered the art of jumping up on things to a certain degree....

She has to take a running leap but she is not able to jump up on to the ottoman.....

Taking it over from Faye!!!

I wonder what secret Azumi is telling Faye!!!!!!!

We had a great afternoon enjoying the company of Family and Pups!!

We were going to see Alice Cooper tonight since we had tickets in 2020 to see him when everything got cancelled because of the Pandemic.....

We were waiting to see if we would be able to sit in the Penguins Box ( based on seniority for employees) but no dice....

Hopefully, he will come back again as we are passing this time because I have not been feeling well....

Swollen and painful ankles, feet, hands, headache.....

Apparently an exacerbation of my Hashimoto's due to the fluctuation in the weather here in NEPA.....

With the rain coming later today, every joint will be screaming.....

This happens to me when the weather gets warm....

As I mentioned in my previous post, I am thrilled to have all my Easter decorating finished.....

Since Easter is so late this year, I was able to take my time, change a few things up and even get some crafting done while decorating.....

You may remember that Joe bought these signs at Dollar Tree a few weeks ago.....

I decided that I would use these in the Dining Room.....

But I wanted to "dabble" with them a bit, sprucing them up.........

This is how this one looked originally....

And after I added a bit of embellishments to it.....

I trimmed the edges with a pretty pink trim....

Added some Butterflies, Eggs and Ribbon Flowers....

Gave the Bunny a Bow!!

 More eggs and ribbon flowers....

It has more of a dimensional look to it!!

And this one, originally....

After a bit of "dabbling"....

Again, I used the same trim around the edges....

Butterflies, Eggs and Ribbon Flowers....

And to complete the set of 3.....

Originally....

Now.....

Same trim....

Eggs, Butterflies and Ribbon Flowers!!

You may remember that Joe bought these 3 Eggs also from Dollar Tree...

And this is how I changed the white and aqua ones to match with my Living Room Easter decorations....

I decided to do something similar with this one to match the Dining Room Easter decorations.....

Again, I added trim around the edge....

And a few Ribbon Flowers....

And here is a sneak peek of where I hung them in the Dining Room.....

On the window dividers between the Living Room and Dining Room....

On the other side by my pink Easter Tree....

And hanging on the faux window between the Kitchen and Dining Room....

A few posts back, I shared some of the things that I ordered from Amazon using gift cards from Christmas and my birthday and I mentioned that I had one more item coming....

It was a package of 8 wooden chick cut outs....

I painted them yellow to match in my red, yellow and orange Easter Kitchen....

Here I where most of the Chicks ended up....

On my Kitchen Easter Tree!!!

I will be doing a post on the Kitchen in the future...

We might as well stay in the Kitchen...

I made this 2 years ago using fabric from the tablecloth that I used to make valances and a cafe curtain for the Kitchen and an embroidery hoop.....

I wanted to change it up a bit to match the color theme for the Kitchen for Easter....

So I removed the pink and aqua eggs and added one of the chicks I painted and a carrot....

And hung it on the Kitchen cabinet door ....

Following along with that color scheme.....

Joe bought a few things for 90% off on Clearance last year in Big Lot's....

This was $1.20!!

 It was broken......

 No problem!!

I had just enough fabric from that tablecloth left over to glue over the blue and white checks!!!

I then used red gimp trim to finish off the edges....

Red Ribbon Flowers and yellow Eggs.....

I painted the truck red and went over the lettering with a black permanent marker to make it stand out more...

And added 2 small carrots!!!

What a difference!!!

This sign was also $1.20!!

Again, I used a black permanent marker on the lettering....

Painted the flowers a brighter yellow and added red Ribbon Flowers....

And added a few Eggs and Carrots....

This egg was $1.00!!

Last year, I did painted the wood around the edge a pale yellow and added a red bow but I wanted it to stand out more....

So I painted the wooden edge a brighter yellow.....

And painted a few of the slats red....

And here is a sneak Peek of where I put these newly refurbished signs......

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I have been up to!!

I hope you will come back and visit on Sunday when I share the rest of the Dining Room decorated for Easter....

Including my Pink Easter Tree!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  1. Happy Birthday to your Danielle. She's a lucky youthful looking 40 year old. I too deal with Hashimotos and can so relate to not knowing just why I feel crummy one day and decent the next. I'm off gluten, sugar, and pre-prepared food and notice an improvement in how I feel. Too much sodium and I'm bloated and achy. Strange disease, isn't it. Hope you're better soon. Take care.

  4. The embellishments on those Dollar Tree plaques really changed the whole look of them! Your color choices are so much more like Easter and they really look fabulous. Joe finds such good sales at Big Lots and I thought they looked pretty good as is. But again, your dabbling really makes them standout! You are so creative!!!

Happy Birthday to Danielle! Those pups are the cutest. Now I am off to look up a recipe for chicken scampi!

  10. Love your Easter decorations. I can go for pizza anytime and yours looks delicious! I keep forgetting Big Lots, I must take a ride there now. I do go into the Christmas tree shops and they have a lot of stuff. I think I may be able to put up some Easter decor now that most of what I can do out side at them moment is done.

  11. I love your stained glass window for your faux window. It's beautiful! I love stained glass. My sister and I took classes in it some years ago and now I am in the mood for making another piece myself. Did you make it? It's gorgeous!
