Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Just a reminder, I will be posting on Wednesdays
and Sundays every week so be sure to check back on those days to see a
new post......
Today, I am going to be sharing how I decorated the Hutch and Tree in the Kitchen for Halloween but first .....
Please stop by and link up to these great parties!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
The Sun is now setting in the back of our house and I can only see it through the trees on the side of our road....
Our Church is going to be holding the Harvest Tea again and even though I will not be participating as a Hostess, I did make up a "basket" for one of the raffles held to raise monies for a Scholarship Fund for a senior student in the Parish after Graduation from High School....
I thought this pretty set of dishes, a tablecloth, place mats, a candle and napkins would be nice for a Thanksgiving Day Dinner Celebration......
I was able to fit it all into a Jumbo gift bag.....
It is valued at $100......
On Friday, I had planned on cleaning the Den windows and changing the curtains after we took the air conditioner out of the window.....
But since this coming week is supposed to go back up into the 70's with rising humidity, I thought I would take advantage of the cooler weather that we were having and start packing up and cleaning the Patio....
I packed up all the Patio decor accessories, rolled up the outdoor mats, hauled them through the house and swept and cleaned them out in the front of the house so they can be taken down our storage shed to be stored until next year......
I had to ditch the outdoor rug that we bought 2 years ago as it actually was getting moldy from all the rain and high humidity that we had this Summer....
It only cost a little over $30 at Ollie's and I got 2 years out of it so that wasn't too bad.....
I will address what I am going to do with this patio concrete block next Season.....
Several years ago, I did a faux brick treatment but because of the snow and ice in the Winter, it peeled off on the edges that were exposed to the elements.....
I washed up at the furniture and left it still set up in anticipation that maybe I may get to sit out here before the Winter....
I am glad that I was able to get all that I got done before it gets warmer again.....
It has been awhile since I made a pot of soup so I did take advantage of the cooler weather and made one on Saturday......
Of course, I made up Take Home jars to give to my sons .....
Also on Saturday, I did get to clean the windows in the Den and decided to do something a bit different this year....
I normally hang ivory lace panels with burgundy lace swags for the Winter but I decided to wash the ivory swags that I had up in the Summer.......
And rehang them along with the ivory lace panels for the Winter....
I am happy with the way they look.....
Today I am continuing my Tour of the Kitchen decorated for Fall and Halloween.....
In my last post, I shared the Fall decorations in the Kitchen....
Click HERE if you missed that post....
While most of the Kitchen is decorated for Fall, I decided to decorate the Hutch and Tree for Halloween.....
Let's start over on the left side.....
Hanging off the vintage apron is a whimsical looking ghost I made using a few Dollar Tree stickers....
One of the Dollar Tree signs that Joe bought at Dollar Tree this year hangs above the Tree.....
The Spider Venom sign is also new this year from Dollar Tree....
Hanging on the side of the Hutch.....
Recently, my friend and fellow Blogger, Bev, over at
Eclectic Red Barn, gifted me these lovely vintage pot holders....
Since I have the Kitchen decorated for Fall and Halloween, I hung this one and one of the "dresses" on one side of the Hutch......
And I hung the other one on the other side of the Hutch......
Along with this sign that I embellished......
Thanks so much , Bev!!
I LOVE them!!!
Below the chair rail.....
A former co worker gave me this chalkboard.....
I taped a Halloween card over the apple tile and placed a Fall recipe box that I filled with flowers many years ago on it's small shelf......
I also decorated my Kitchen Tree with all Halloween ornaments.....
I made a few more Halloween ornaments this year using wood cut outs from Dollar Tree.....
The topper on the Tree is actually a lawn stake bought for $1 at Dollar General.....
I took apart the plaid bow and made another bow using the plaid ribbon and the new orange and black chevron design ribbon.....
I wrapped a leaf garland around the Tree....
All the ornaments on this Tree, I made.....
I also tucked some red leaf picks into the Tree....
From the side....
I am very happy with how it came out.....
Last year was the first year that I decorated the Hutch for Fall and Halloween....
This year, I decided to decorate it for only Halloween......
On the top shelf is where I put 2 of the Owls that were gifted to me by my neighbor Khaled and his family.....
They are part of a set of 3......
I put the 3rd one outside on my park bench......
I just love them on top of the Hutch....
I hung a bow made from the orange and black chevron ribbon bought at Dollar Tree to top off a sign that Joe bought on clearance that says " If The Shoe Fits".......
A closer look of the first shelf.....
The Halloween dish is part of a Set of 4 that I have used throughout this display on the Hutch....
The second shelf......
There is another dish from the set....
The desk area of the Hutch.....
Again, I decorated this area strictly for Halloween.....
You may remember that this is the arrangement that I just made in this black cat mason jar.....
Again, the Trick or Treat sign was recently bought at Dollar Tree....
In the center.....
I filled the new goblets with buffalo snow to look as if there is a frothy potion in them ready to drink!
The other dishes to the set....
Over in the corner....
I decorated underneath the desk......
I replaced the copper lantern that I normally display here on top of the vintage metal picnic basket with a mosaic hurricane votive that I paid $1 for at The Christmas Tree Shop.....
On the floor.....
Hanging from the drawer knobs....
And another ghost on this side hanging from a cinnamon scented broom.....
Below the chair rail.....
The pumpkin sign that Joe bought at Bed, Bath and Beyond.....
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorated this area of the Kitchen in a more whimsical Halloween theme.....
I sure had a lot of fun using a lot of my new Dollar Tree purchases and some of the things that I crafted and embellished this year to decorate the Kitchen.....
In my next post, I will be sharing the Powder Room, which I also decorated a bit more for Halloween than I normally do.....
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

THURSDAY
Please take some time to visit these terrific hosts and all those joining in on the fun!!!
I made my first pot of soup too this past week. Rainy for the next few days here, glad all the garden jobs are done.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love the red potholders. We used to have someone at church that would crochet those cute patterns and I would try to snatch them up at every bazaar. October is an interesting time at my house. Cooler temperatures means my husband wants to remove window air conditioners. I remember a year when it was almost 100 degrees on October 1. I usually win these days since I never leave the house. In the past, I would come home from work and find them missing!
ReplyDeleteMy halloween tree is about three feet tall! Yours, and all the ornaments, blows me away. I love the new ornies you made this year.
ReplyDeleteOh I am ready to make a pot of soup or chili. But then I can eat that all year round as I love soups! Just had some at Olive Garden recently. Girl, I honestly don't know how you have so much dang energy to do all that you do. BUT...you do it all well! Happy Week to you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI wish we lived closer Debbie because my nephews LOVE Halloween (they are totally obsessed) and they would be bananas over your house. They would be completely delighted by your tree and festive touches around the house. I swear you are so creative! Hope you're having a great week, CoCo
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tour.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with your kitchen all year long but Autumn!!! It's just so cozy and absolutely gorgeous. I love your tree and the new decorations you made. I'm also crazy about those owls! I use owls in my after Christmas/winter decor and these guys are so cute! I had a friend tell me one day that I needed to pick a theme, either autumn or halloween and to stop using both. I am showing her this post! You have a little bit of both mixed in and it looks great so I do not need to choose!!! Thanks for sharing and for proving my point! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteAs always, your seasonal decor is very festive! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteVery festive and cute Halloween decor Debbie — enjoyed the tour! I’d bid on that wonderful and generous “basket” you put together!
ReplyDeleteYour raffle basket is wonderful! What a festive kitchen.
ReplyDeleteLove your decorations. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteJanet,
DeleteThanks so much for taking the time to stop by and for letting me know that you did by leaving such a kind comment!! Thanks again!
