I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Haunted Houses, A Fortune Teller, A Cemetery and Edgar Allan Poe...In the Dining Room!

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Just a reminder, I will be posting on Wednesdays and Sundays every week so be sure to check back on those days to see a new post......

Today, I am going to be sharing more of my Dinning Room decorated for Halloween....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

Joe is one Happy Camper as he received $150 in Vouchers to the Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins Team Store as a Season Ticket Holder who continued to pay on his tickets and renewed his Season Ticket Holder committment after the 2019 Season was cancelled.....

I am sure he will have fun spending those vouchers.....

On Saturday, we took advantage of a Food Sale at one of the local churches in our area, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.....

They held a Pulled Pork Sandwich Food Sale.....

They were selling dinners which included a Sandwich, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Chips and a Brownie for $10.....

Since we do not like Baked Beans or Brownies, we opted for just sandwiches which were $5.50 each and were quite surprised when we were given all of this!!

We bought 6 sandwiches and were quite surprised that we also got a container of cole slaw and 2 different BBQ flavored containers of sauce for each sandwich!

Our son , Joey, ate 3 sandwiches!!

Joe and I had one each and Joey ate the last one the next day!

They were loaded with meat which they smoked themselves right on the church grounds.....

We have gotten food before from their sales like potato pancakes, baked ziti and porketta sandwiches......

I wish our church would do something like this as Fund Raisers......

Since our niece Renae had given us some of the tomatoes she canned from the tomatoes that we got for her from the Amish Farmer by our house, Joe decided to make some chili......

We gave some to our son Jim and our DIL Danielle and froze a good part of it....

I also bought some zucchini from the Amish Farmer and I decided to make some more zucchini bread....

I gave half a loaf to our neighbor Ed......

And froze some to have during the Holidays.....

Since Joe had Chili for Dinner on Sunday and Joey does not like it, I decided to make something that I saw on one of our local TV stations when covering the Bloomsburg State Fair which is the largest in the state of Pa.

They called it a "Mess"

I call it Heart Attack in a Bowl!!!!

You start with Tater Tots.....

Then you add Mac N Cheese on top......

I made Bob Evans Mac N Cheese.....

Then you top it with a meat......

I made some Steak Ums up with Marinara Sauce like I do for Cheese Steak Hoagies.....

You can use Chili, Whimpies ( Sloppy Joe's ), Pulled Chicken or Pulled Pork......

And then you finish it off with a cheese sauce.....

I used 2 packages of Velveeta Cheese Sauce .....

It was very good but very filling.....

Joey ate his dinner which is the bowl in the pictures as mine was half the portion and I could not finish it all....

One other thing I want to share is that I finally pulled the band aid off and went through all my clothes after realizing that I was moving Seasonal clothes in and out of closets and never wearing any of them!

If I did not wear it in 2-3 years, out it went!

3 bags and a box that I will be donating to either one of the Soup Kitchens or to Keystone Mission which helps homeless people with securing Employment.....

It was wonderfully freeing and I have a lot more room in 3 closets now!!

And I am sure that I will be getting rid of even more clothes because where do I really go?????

In my last post, I shared my Witch's Potion Table in my spooky Dining Room.....

And how I decorated the Dining Room Chandy a bit differently this year.....

Click HERE if you missed that post.....

Today, I will be sharing the rest of the Dining Room....

As I mentioned in my last post, I went with a bit more orange this year instead of just the black and white Halloween decorations that I had been using in my very Victorian looking Dining Room!

I also sort have divided up the Dining Rom in to different areas, displaying decorations with different Halloween themes....

I ended here with the Witch's Potion Table in my last post......

We will move on to the Haunted Houses.....

Between the Buffet and the Hutch is a small Curio.....

Above the Curio on a shelf.....

 On top of the Curio....

A Haunted House bought a few years ago......

These 3 darling Halloween figures were gifted to me by my friend Anne Marie......

They are so sweet, aren't they??????

On the floor in front of the Curio....

"Beware of the Giant Spider"

The Giant Spider sits on top of a silver mercury glass pumpkin.......

  More Pumpkins.....

Another Haunted House on top of the Hutch.....

The Pumpkin People are Yankee Candle Tea Light Holders......

 A Witch's Weather Vane.....

Joe gifted me the Haunted House for the first Halloween we were married as he bought it from a co worker who did ceramics....

I bought the Skeletons at Dollar General this Season.....

This Haunted House has graced the top of this Hutch at Halloween for 43 years now......

Now, we will take a look at the Fortune Teller area......

Sammy, the Skeleton, is advertising his Fortune Telling Business on the window divider between the Dining Room and the Living Room......

This sign was bought at Dollar Tree.....

 As was this one.....

I bought this tray at Big Lot's on Clearance after Halloween a few years ago.....

 And another Dollar Tree sign....

Sammy is ready to read your Fortune.....

I made him a hat to wear.....

And a bow tie out of ribbon.....

He will look into his Halloween Ball to see what your future holds.....

Two of his friends ( Rats) sit on each side of him.....

A pumpkin that I embellished sits on the floor by him....

Over on the other side of the room.....

Is my Dining Room Halloween Tree.....

I will be sharing more of this Tree in my next post......

Next to the Tree.....

On the shelf under the picture......

More Potion Bottles that I made......

In the corner by the Kitchen.....

This is the Cemetery area.......

A bit of a Grave Yard on the shelf.....

Dollar Tree Tombstones......

And my Funeral Basket.......

Decorated for Halloween.......

You may remember that I bought these salad tongs at Dollar Tree.....

I added them to the floral arrangement that I put together for the basket.....

On the marble topped stand that the basket sits on.......

A Skeleton in a coffin in a Cemetery......

The skeleton with the RIP tombstone and this antique Funeral Card were also gifted to me by my friend Anne Marie.....

On top of the larger Curio......

Is another tombstone in a Cemetery......

Joe bought this tombstone at the damage sale of the Furniture Store that was demolished by a tornado that hit the shopping center by us 3 years ago.....

It was $1.00!

My set of silver mercury owls are keeping watch.....

I bought them on Clearance one year after Christmas in Penney's....

And of course, what is a Cemetery scene without a twisted spooky looking tree......

And we now move on out of the Cemetery.....

And over to the last area of the Dining Room.....

Decorated with a bit of Edgar Allan Poe in mind......

A Silhouette of old Edgar hangs on my faux window where I have a stained glass panel hung......

A display paying homage to his famous poem "Quoth the Raven Nevermore" is on the top of the cabinet that my Dad built to match Joe's Grandmother's Dining Room furniture that we inherited and still graces our Living Room 43 years later.....

Several years ago, I ran off graphics from the computer that I framed.....

I bought the typewriter in Ross Dress for Less a few years back.......

And I embellished an old clock that I bought at a yard sale for 25 cents and set it to Midnight!!!!

"Once upon a Midnight deary"........

And that ends this post about the Halloween decorations in my Dining Room......

In my next post, I will be sharing my Halloween Dining Room Tree which I used a few new ornaments that I made to decorate it, adding a bit more orange to it....

And the area surrounding it!!!!

  3. So spooky!!! My grandchildren would be over the moon! And you are so creative! Love all the food pictures, too. We have a few churches that do dinners, but mostly it is BBQ Chicken, not my husband's favorite. One church a town away usually offers a rib option for an additional price and I was looking forward to going. This year they did not have the rib option. Our church does a BBQ chicken or ham slice, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and bacon, roll, butter and slice of homemade pie. We have always had carryout and dine in, but this year it was a drive thru which worked out pretty darn good, actually!

  4. Every time I vist your blog I feel like I need to call my nephews to tell them all the festive stuff you've created this week. They could not get over the fact you had a special Halloween tree so the dining room would blow their minds completely he he. It's been so much fun to follow along with all your crafts and seasonal decor. I love it all! Hugs, CoCo

  6. Your Halloween decorations look so fun! We don't really decorate for Halloween as we don't celebrate it here in Australia but it's fun to see the decorations of those in the US who do!

The food fundraiser sounds like fun too, you got so much yummy food! :)

Hope you are having a great weekend :) We finally have a sunny day after some rainy ones so will make the most of it!

  7. More luck for Joe. October 31 is our granddaughter's birthday, I've always called her my Little Pumpkin as she was born on Hallowe'en.

  8. I applaud you going through your closet and making the cuts! I have been trying to do that for years and I'm always stuck with the thought "I will wear that someday." Of course I never do so as I'm changing out my closet from summer to winter this year, you've inspired me to finally bite the bullet and weed out the "someday" stuff!

You have the cutest Halloween decorations! I got rid of most of mine quite a few years ago but looking at yours, I'm missing them. I love what you did with your yard sale clock. Such a great idea. All your creative touches everywhere always makes it such fun to come for a visit. Thanks for all you do! Take care and have a wonderful week!

  10. Always fun to see your decor! I don't know how you continue to have the energy to decorate like you do. I find myself doing less and less each year. Especially this year! Happy Halloween!

  11. That IS a scary dining room! And a cute village. YOur bread spree reminds me that I have to clean out the freezer so I can start to bake ahead for the holidays. I always keep some pumpkin and apple bread in the freezer and it's alway a treat!

  12. What a fun filled post!!! It's like walking through a Halloween fun house and drooling over all the food. I could just taste each dish :)

  13. So much to see, but the chandelier is my favorite! I can relate to getting rid of clothes, Debbie. When I retired, I donated, suits, dresses, dress pants, shoes, you name it. Now I live in jeans, t-shirts, sandals, sweaters and boots and I love it! Thank you for sharing at Party In Your PJ's.
