Fall from Dusk to Evening.......

  Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge it......

In my last post, I shared my Gothic Halloween Buffet in our Dining Room.......

And the top of the small curio next to it........

Click HERE if you missed that post......

I was going to be sharing more of the Dining Room in this post but I was able to take what I think are some really amazing pictures outside last evening.......

Even though it was dark and cloudy and drizzled most of the day yesterday, about a half hour before the Sun was due to set, the Sun broke through the clouds and came out!!!!

I have been sharing with you the progress of the leaves changing on the Tree in the yard across from us.....

I just happened to catch a glimpse of the Tree through the lace curtains on our Living Room window and I quickly ran for my camera......

It almost appeared as if someone plugged in a spotlight and shined it on the Tree, illuminating it!!!!

Look how the Sun is shining on the VA Medical Center up on the hill.......

We have been blessed to see this Tree in all it's Fall colors for over 30 years now......

The original owners planted this tree in their yard after going out into the woods by our townhouse development and digging out a few small trees, transplanting them in their yard......

As I turned to walk back in the house, I see this.......

In previous posts, I have been showing you some of the area around where I live......

And even though I do have a Shopping Center on one side of us, we do have rather dense woods on the other side of  us......

The Sun was shining on the woods , just like on the Tree across the street and illuminating them also......

You can see that the sky is still quite cloudy.....

After I went back into the house, I was out at the computer in the Den and noticed that the sky looked pink outside......

Well, Mother Nature was providing quite a show for us yesterday evening with that brief blast of sunshine......

I took these pictures from our back yard right before Sunset.......

What a beautiful display Mother Nature provided for us after a rather dismal day.....

I had planned to do this post as one of my final Fall/Halloween posts for this Season but with all that beauty we saw last night, I decided to move this post up and continue on the theme of Dusk to Evening.....

I took these pictures last week since my flowers were still holding on and even though the temps were in the low 30's here this morning, we have still not had that killer frost .....

When I started to take these pictures, it was just starting to get dark......

Dusk......

The lights are set on a timer in the front of our house and come on at Dusk and stay on until Dawn.....

Yes, they are on all night long......

All the lights are LED so they cost virtually nothing in the way of Electricity......

The majority of Home Security Specialists advocate that the single most deterrent to crime at night is adequate outdoor lighting......

Not that we have any problems here because there is only one way in and one way out of our development.....

But if you follow me on Face Book, you know I have a situation next door to me that hopefully will be rectified by the end of this month where someone is prowling around our development in the night......

See the net lights on the shrubs in the flower bed??????

It amazes me how wisdom comes with age....

I decided to put the net lights out now so I will not have to do it after Halloween when decorating for Christmas when it is much colder.......

This will give me one less thing to decorate outside when the time comes.....

I guess that is the beauty of Retirement...time to think about and ponder things a bit more......

These were taken as the evening progressed.......

I also keep our front porch light on all night long.....

I will keep the front of the house decorated like this until the first week of November when I will change it over to Christmas decorations but I will keep the Christmas lights off until Thanksgiving night which is when I traditionally light the front of the house for Christmas....

You may be wondering what did I do on the rainy, cloudy days that we had this week.......

Well, I continued with my Christmas decorating upstairs and straightened, cleaned and decorated  my Craft Room.......

Sneak Peaks.....

Last week, I did the upstairs hall way......

In my next post, I will be sharing more of the Dining Room decorated for Halloween.....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

  3. Oh my goodness you live in a beautiful area. Those trees are beautiful. Of course the outside of you home is just gorgeous all lit up. You do so much and work so hard to add beauty to your little spot of earth. It would be nice if everyone took pride in their yards and homes. Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog. I always love seeing that you have visited. I am taking a break from Facebook until after the elections. So I will only be posting on my blog. I can't wait to see your Christmas decorations. Stay safe my Friend. Karie
