I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Some More New Buys!!

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

The one thing I know about Bloggers is they sure do like to see what others are buying .....

Posts where I share what I have bought always seem to be a big hit with my Readers......

Today, I have some more new Buys to share........

I really do like to shop at Gabes......

I bought a few things there recently in 2 trips where I had a $5.00 off $25 coupon each time......

I loved these Rooster Door Mats and they were only $2.99 each.......
I bought 2 of them and plan to use them in my Kitchen.....
I was looking for red or yellow small bowls to keep my sugar packs and creamers for my coffee in at my Beverage Bar area on the Kitchen counter.....
Perfect size for what I wanted them for......
And the price was sure right at 99 cents each!!!
This was $12.99 and I could not resist!!!
I wanted to pick up a few Easter things especially for the Kitchen because I have a new theme in mind ......

These packs of 2 dish towels were $3.99 each!!
And a yellow and white striped towel.......
And this one had a pretty green towel.....
I loved this Easter sign in Aqua!!
Especially for $5.99!

And this one was $7.99......
Loved this one for only $4.99!!
I am going to put a coat of clear polyurethane on the signs .......

These cute napkin rings were only $2.99
And of course, Joe found something too......

This throw was marked down for $13 to $5!!!
Keep in mind that I used the coupons and got an additional $10 off all of these items!!!

Next up is what I bought at Dollar Tree.......

I fell in love with these "Sweet" fairy garden items.......
In my Craft Room, I have the Tree in there decorated for Summer with some ice cream cone, cupcake and popsicle ornaments but I have not decided whether I will save them for Christmas or use them now.......

I am thinking now because of how I have the Tree in the Craft Room decorated for Summer......
I will be sharing more of this Tree in a future post.....

I bought these for Easter, also in Dollar Tree........
Not sure yet how I will paint this one yet.....
I love this cute sign and I will be using it in the Kitchen.....
And these cute carrot fairy houses that I will also be using for Easter......
I went to have my hair cut in J.C. Penney's on Sunday and I saw this cutie!!!!
Way too expensive at $32 BUT it was marked down  and then I had a 10% off coupon.......
And I also had a $10 reward so I only paid.........
$3.70!!!!!!

SOLD!!!!!

Did you see a pattern with what I bought for the Kitchen for Easter?????

Carrots!!!!!

Last year, I did not get to decorate for Easter because of my impending Knee Replacement Surgery......

I saw a post that Kris, over at Junk Chic Cottage, did about her past Easter Decorations and commented that I loved those carrots and would have to get some for next year.....
She offered to send me some because as she said the carrots are worse than Bunnies and multiply around her house every year!!

So thanks Kris for being so kind to gift me these sweet carrots last year!!
I love them and can't wait to decorate the Kitchen using Carrots for Easter!!!

In my last post, I revealed my Word of the Month for March to be SPRING......
Click HERE if you missed that post......

This past weekend, we SPRUNG forward one hour.......
It was always my favorite day to work as I only had to work 7 hours instead of 8 hours of night shift!!!

Last week, I definitely SPRUNG into action......
I took down and packed away all the Valentine's decorations in the Kitchen, Living Room and Dining Room which I had left up for the month of February.....

I also Spring house cleaned the Living Room .......

I bought these drapes for under $20 recently.......
I hung 2 of the pairs and used the 3rd pair to make valances.......
The valances I made are hanging between the panels......
I changed out the gold chenille linens that I have used since the Fall for peach lace ones.......
  Including peach lace curtains....
My Mother always changed drapes and curtains for the Spring and Summer but when I was working full time, it really was not a priority for me to do so because of not having a whole lot of time.....
After I stripped down the Tree in the Living Room, I decided to add a few sets of LED pink/purple lights to it for Easter.......
I am glad that I did because I really like how it turned out, decorated for Easter.....
And I am thrilled that I decided to change the drapes for Spring/Summer......

This is how the Living Room looked in February.....
And now ......
I am not sharing too much now but will do so in my next post!!

As a Season Ticket Holder, Joe was invited to attend a special Meet and Greet banquet at Mohegan Sun Casino for the Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins, the AHL team of the Pittsburgh Penguins....
He was thrilled because besides the wonderful food that was served, the players come around to the tables and sign whatever you would like them to sign so he did get quite a bit of autographs.....

Our oldest son Joe, through his employer, Web.Com, was offered the chance to attend a game sitting in one of the Luxury Suites at the Mohegan Sun Arena......
Again, Joe and Joey enjoyed great food and had a wonderful time!!

I think Joe has now been to every part in that arena that is only 5 minutes from our house....

Our son, Joey, cracked me up because he said going to a game with his Dad and walking around the concourse of the Arena before the game was like the scene in the movie "Good Fellas" with Ray Liotta bringing his date to a restaurant and everyone knowing him.....

Joey said as they walked around the concourse, all these people were saying "Hi, Joe!"  Hey, Joe!"

He said it was hysterical!!

I have always said that his Father is Mister Social Butterfly, as I call him!!

Sunday, March 8th, was the 45th Anniversary of our first date!!

Joe took me to his home town which was a 40 minute drive from where I lived, and we got a flat tire so I spent half the night in George's Garage, with George, watching Carol Burnett while Joe and his cousin Leo changed the flat tire!!

Memorable, huh????

I also packed up all the Winter decorations from the front of our house and will be working on cleaning up the porch this week along with decorating the Dining Room and the Kitchen for Easter.....

So  I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. What a trip and what a store. We don't have anything like that around here. So many great bargains and cute stuff. Of course, I love the red rooster mat. That one's right up my alley!!

  2. What wonderful finds. You've got me convinced to hit the Dollar Tree to see if any of those houses are available. They are adorable.

  3. I am so happy you are going to use those sweet little carrots in your decor. You are the decor queen for holiday decorations so I am honored my little carrots will be in your decor this year. I gave those sweet rabbits to my daughter that now host Easter and after seeing them in your post today I want them back lol! Have a good week.
    Hugs,
    Kris

  7. Well I am decorating for Spring and Easter vicariously through you! I tripped in my kitchen Friday and was having a pity party for myself today counting out when I can get back to normal. Easter is out this year for sure. I will find out Wednesday about 4th of July.

  9. I loved all of your new treasures; I shop a lot like you do--if it's not a bargain, I don't buy it! My mom always made valances like yours to let more light into dark rooms! (Ditto for buying another sheet to make her own pillowcases!).She would turn over in her grave if she knew I put up clean curtains without washing the windows! She always changed curtains and couch/chair covers seasonally (Is it a Polish thing?) so I used to also. Cheap redecorating! Enjoyed the pix of Joe and Joey, too. Glad Joe found a Penguins throw--finding Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox stuff on clearance in Maine is so hard!
