I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

More Easter in the Dining Room

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Today, I will be sharing the rest of my Easter decorations in the Dining Room.....

But first, on a personal note......

Well, here we are in the second week of these trying times as I will call it.......

I refuse to call this anything else because I want this place, my Blog, to be a place where people can come to get away from everything going on in the World right now....
BUT I have always tried to achieve that.....

I am calm and truly not affected too much by all of this as I have mentioned before, since I stopped working, I rarely leave the house....
Image may contain: possible text that says 'I've yet to decide where I want to spend my weekend. I'm torn between my living room and my bedroom.'
I enjoy being home because about 20 years ago when I realized that I was no longer able to travel due to health issues, I decided to make my home into my very own Victorian Bed and Breakfast just like the type of place that I would have liked to stay at when traveling.....

In doing so, I created my own safe haven that when I was working and would come home after working a particularly grueling night, which was pretty much every night that I worked, I would walk in my front door and feel my home wrap it's arms around me....

I have stopped watching all National News and I scroll through and do not read any negative news and doomsday posts on Face book.....

If you follow me on Face Book, you know that I refuse to post anything but POSITIVE things on my site so not to induce fear, stress and anxiety during this time....

Many people are suffering mentally right now and I will NOT be a contributing factor in the demise of their mental health....

That being said.....

With my Easter decorating done, I have been doing a bit of crafting.....

In my next post, I will be sharing what I made with these cones........
I have also been cleaning and going through things in my Craft Room.......

Here are a few pictures of the area that I worked on.....
And of course, I found these cardboard coasters that we get for free through the mail because Joe donates to almost every Veteran's Group out there I think.....
I saved them with the thought of making ornaments out of them for my Seasonal Trees......

And here is what I came up with!!
It was a fun afternoon , "Playing" in my craft room!!

I will be sharing more on these ornaments in future posts......

Update on my family:

Joe is still working part time at Wegman's, who is rewarding their workers with Bonus checks to be paid in the beginning of April and May for an additional $2.00 an hour for all hours worked in March and April.

They are also  practicing social distancing at their check out registers by requiring all customers to wait behind a line to be called up to the registers after it has been wiped down between EACH customer.

And they are providing breaks every half hour so their cashiers can close down their registers and go and wash their hands...

And even though Joe is 65 years old, if he was not able to get out of the house, it would be extremely detrimental to his mental health and mine as well!!!!

Our son Jim and DIL Danielle are still working at Target, unloading the trucks coming in and stocking shelves so their contact with customers is limited as they go into work at 5 am.

Our son Joe is now working from home as he is an IT specialist for the company, Web.Com

He has his work station set up in his living room in his apartment......
The table that I gave him to use works perfectly for him.......

In previous posts, I shared my Easter Bunny Buffet in the Dining Room!!!!
Click HERE if you missed it.......

And my Pink Easter Tree in the Dining Room......
Click HERE if you missed that post......

Next to the Dining Room buffet is a small curio.......
I added a few Easter decorations to the top of the curio......
You may remember this Cross that I bought 2 years ago at a church Flea market for $1.00......
Well, here is where I decided to put it....
Along with a bunny and lambs.....
Next to the curio is the hutch......
Again, I added just a few things.....
A bunny box and Easter Caroler bought many years ago at The Christmas Tree Shop......
The bunny napkin rings were recently bought at Gabes.......
This sweet bunny Tea Pot was gifted to me by my dear friend, Anne Marie only a few weeks ago.....
And another Easter Caroler.......
Hanging on the window divider between the Dining Room and the Living Room.....
Is an Egg Wreath that I made......
And a Bunny bought at Dollar Tree.....
I showed you my Pink Easter Tree in this corner in a previous post....
I few eggs added to a shelf.......
In the corner by the Kitchen.......
Is the funeral basket that I decorate for every Holiday and Season......
One of the new Easter egg plates that I recently bought at Tuesday Mornings.......
An egg box that I embellished......
A Happy Easter sign hangs on the curio......
The bottom half of the curio holds pieces of Lenox Butterfly Meadow pattern that Joe got for me using comp points from the local Casino.....
Next to the curio on the cabinet that my Dad built to match Joe's Grandmother's Dining Room furniture......
A Bunny, a pink carrot and an egg placed in the vintage crystal compote bowl.....
 The other Bunny napkin rings.....
The Easter Egg ceramic was a gift from my Mother......
And I even changed my Chandy lamp shades for the Spring/Summer to ones with a flower print on them.......
Of course, I added the beads to them!!
And that completes my Easter tour of our Dining Room.......

In my next post, I will be sharing what exactly I made with these.........
And my Easter Tree.......
See anything familiar looking on the Tree??????

Stay safe, healthy and happy!!

  2. Hi Debbie - loved reading your post today and seeing your wonderful decorations and your recent craft idea using ribbons to hang and display. Your kindness has been there always and I was heartened to read why you are continuing to share your wonderfully decorated home plus adding how your family are doing and coping with the changes. It helps.

    1. Nina,
You are right...most of the furniture in our home has a story because it came from family and friends...After Easter, I will showcase some of the furniture and the stories behind it all...
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind words!
      Stay safe, healthy and happy!
      Hugs,
      Debbie

  5. I have some Easter Decorations, but haven't felt very motivated to find them. Been consumed by the state of affairs of the virus. I never watch news, but read tons of it...more now than ever. I have most days listen to our Governor's Press Conference, he provides lots of info. Hubby is also working from home and has two monitors like your picture plus a laptop. He says he's getting more done because people aren't bothering him. I really leave him alone so he's enjoying the quiet. Beautiful home as always, stay well you and yours.
