I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Harvest Tea, 2018

Welcome!!!

I am linking it up to I am linking up to the If I Had a Tea cup Link Party!!!

In this post, I will be sharing my table from our church's annual Harvest Tea........

The Harvest Tea benefits the Msgr. Phillip A. Gray Merit Awards, which are awarded annually to graduating Seniors in our Parish to assist them in furthering their education.....

As a Hostess, you are responsible for:

Choosing a Theme for your table

Inviting Guests to sit at your table who make a donation of $10 that goes toward the Scholarship Fund

Providing the food for your guests

Providing a favor for your guests

Donating a door prize to be chanced off the evening of the Tea

These are the Hostesses and the themes they picked for their tables for this year's Harvest Tea........
Some Hostesses do 2 tables and some hostesses work together on several tables......

There are also "General Public" tables where a committee of women get together and provide  for people who would like to attend the Tea but are not invited by a particular hostess....

The church provides our beautiful  Banquet Hall, Decorations and Coffee and Hot Water for Tea..........
These are the Door Prizes that Joe and I provided for this year.......
A set for 4 of Pfaltzgraffe Winterbury dishes with 4 place mats that is valued at $160.

Joe found the dishes on Clearance after Christmas in J.C. Penney's marked down to $35!!!!!!

And Joe always donates Hockey Tickets since we are Season Ticket Holders for the AHL Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins.......
And yes, the Tea is open to men too!!!!!

Joe loves going!!

This is a photo of what our Banquet Hall looked like on the evening of the Tea before the guests arrived.........
Entertainment is also provided and this year it was a Pianist and Soloist who delighted us with several songs......

This was my Menu for the evening.......
This was the Wrap Tray that I ordered from Wegman's.......

It was the first time I ordered it and it was delicious!!

All the baked goods came from Wegman's and the Chicken Salad was bought at a local grocery store, Schiel's, and I simply made Slider sandwiches by putting the chicken salad on slider buns from Wegman's......

The photos below show some of the boxes containing tableware, decorations and door prizes for the Tea......
And these were one of the favors that my guests at my table received......
Yes, I made pumpkins out of toilet paper rolls.......
The fabric I used was a tablecloth!!
My Theme this year was "Pumpkin Kisses and Harvest Wishes"!!!

I have done all kinds of different themes for the Harvest Tea over the years but I never did an actual Fall theme........

Last year, I decided that I would do a fall theme and when I saw these in Dollar Tree at the end of August, I knew what my theme would be!!!!
You may remember that I turned this picture that Joe got for FREE.....
Into this.......
Here is what my table and buffet table looked like......
You can see that I used the picture on my buffet table in the back......
Okay, let me give you a closer look at my table.......
This is the first time I chose a long table and did not do the traditional round table.......
I panicked when I got to the hall to set up my table and realized that one table would not be large enough for how I intended to decorate my table!!!!!
But thankfully, I was able to have another long table so I bumped 2 tables together and that made it easy for me to decorate the center of the table like I wanted to!!
Years ago, we used to haul linen tablecloths, china, my gold flatware and crystal serving pieces to the church hall for the Tea but with Joe and his back and the severe osteoporosis that he has, this is far too labor intensive to do anymore........
So for the last 2 years, I have gone disposable with plastic tablecloths, paper plates, plastic goblets and tea cups and flatware.........
You can see Joe sitting.........supervising as he likes to call it!!!!

First, let's look at how I decorated down the center of the table........
I pretty much pulled some of my Fall decorations right out of my Living Room........

I decorated the table with a few of my embellished pumpkins........
The gold LED battery operated Trees from my Harvest Village display on top of our TV Entertainment Center.......
I bought a lovely plaid table runner in Dollar General for a mere $6.00 for the middle of the table......
You may remember the truck that I bought in the Summer and I had displayed underneath my Fall Tree in the Living Room.......
It is at the center of the display in the middle of the table......
I bought 4 strands of Fall leaf garland at Dollar Tree and wove 2 strands together with orange deco mesh tube like garland, also bought at Dollar Tree and made 2 strands of garland.......
I wove them throughout the items in the center of the table and added a string of battery operated fairy lights to the garlands.......
I scattered leaves bought at Dollar Tree and acorns bought at Dollar General around the table.......
You can see I added more embellished pumpkins to this end of the table......
Now let me show you the place settings........
I did bring my gold chargers from home to "glam" things up a bit...........
The paper plates and matching napkins were bought at Bed, Bath and Beyond by Joe, the glittered plastic flatware, gold goblets and tea cups were bought at Party City......
I placed the "toilet paper" pumpkins that I made as favors at the top of each place setting......
Place cards with each guests names were placed on their plates......
Along with organza bags filled with candy.........
I tied the "Pumpkin Kisses and Harvest Wishes" plaques from Dollar Tree to the backs of the chairs......
These were also favors for my guests.....

I also provide bags for each of my guests to put their favors in, making it easier for them to take home after the Tea.......
This is a photo one of my guests took of her favors!!!!
I always have a table set up for the food I provide my guests.......

I do try to decorate it up a bit......
I decorated it simply with the picture I made and 2 lanterns, also from our Living Room.......
Even though the church has a nice serving table set up for coffee and tea, I always take 3 pitchers from the church's kitchen to fill so I can serve my guests and they do not have to get up to get their drinks.......
Our Banquet Hall is often rented out for Weddings and other events and different lighting is used for these occasions.......
The floor lights were set to orange colors for Fall for the Harvest Tea.....
Ironically, 2 floor lights were on each end of my buffet table making it look really good!!!
 Once again, Joe is supervising.......
I hope you enjoyed seeing my "Pumpkin Kisses and Harvest Wishes" Table for this year's Harvest Tea.........
The Banquet Hall looked lovely the evening of the Tea!!!!!!
In a future post, I will be sharing the other hostess tables and the evening of the Tea and my guests.....
Joe, pitching in selling tickets for the Door Prizes.....
And all the hostesses of the evening!!
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
