I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....

On THURSDAYS, I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...

I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....

On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...

Today is SATURDAY so that means What Have I Been Up To and Where I Have I Gone?

On Tuesday, I went to what we call Lunch Out with members of the Senior Social Group that I am President of.....

We went to a local Italian restaurant, Leggio's.....

Rosemary, Nancy and Lucy....

Joanne and MaryJo....Alyson had gone to the Ladies Room...LOL!

In Thursday's post, I shared my meal which was a chicken BLT Wrap...

The portions there are always huge so most took home some of their meal in Take Home containers....

This was Lucy's dish, which I believe was some sort of Tortellini...

And this was a Chicken Salad that some ordered....

We had a wonderful time as we were there for over 2 hours.....

Last week, we had high's mostly in the low 70's so I took advantage of that and worked outside all week....

I am happy to say that until it is time to plant my annuals in my pots, I have my front and back yard, back Patio and Front Porch all set up and ready for the Summer!!!

About 2 weeks ago, I changed over the Front Porch from Easter.....

To Summer and it will stay like this only to be changed for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day when I decorate it with Patriotic decor.........

You can see that the forsythias in my neighbor's yard were still in bloom when I took these pictures....

Again, I am sticking with a red, yellow and orange color theme for the front porch and yard for the Summer....

It makes it easier to transition to Fall....

The beautiful porch sign that my talented great niece Caitlin created for me stays out year round.....

Last year, I invested in water and UV resistant faux flowers that are still a big thing on all forms of social media.....

I was tired of spending a huge amount to money on a lot of annuals that I slaved over all Summer, trying to keep them alive in the heat and humidity that seems to be the new normal here in NEPA because of Climate Change....

It also saved money on my water bill.....

When I packed away the flowers at the end of last Season, I bagged them individually per arrangement per pot so all I needed to do was just put them back in the pots....

I decided to keep the black urn on the porch this year and keep the white branches that I used in it for the Winter....

I placed a faux boxwood ball in it that my late husband Joe bought in Wegman's on clearance...

 Joe's Pittsburgh Steeler's gnome.....

A few years back, I made bows out of 3 different ribbons for Summer for the porch....

The lighthouse that I made out of clay pots and a sweet Angel.....

Another pot filled with faux flowers on my late neighbor Elly's milk can, which I may repaint this year....

I recently bought this cute Lady Bug yard stake in Dollar Tree to go with the smaller one on the garland....

I added a eucalyptus garland with white flowers to it....

I changed out the pink Easter bows on each upper corner of the garland for yellow, red and black ones that I made for the Summer....

I am glad that I decided to keep out the garland .....

I made this wreath several years ago....

I hung this metal sign that I bought last year in Dollar Tree and repainted so that it would hang in the center of the wreath....

A yellow Bee that needs to be painted a brighter yellow after fading in the Sun...

Since I have the weeping mortar that was popular back in the 70's when my townhouse was built, I use it to hang decorations off of....

Another bow and a letter B sign....

I bought this cute Lady Bug wreath at Hobby Lobby several years ago....

A vintage mailbox paying homage to my late husband Joe , who was a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service....

A rechargable battery operated light and bug zapper hangs from the mail box....

Another sign that my great niece Caitlin created for me to match the porch sign....

More faux flowers and the gnome solar house that my sister Barb gifted me for my Birthday....

The sign I recently bought in Dollar General.....

I put out my Summer rugs....

And my Summer seat cushions and pillows....

This is the top of my old Dining Room Tree that I am now using in this corner of the porch as the one I had there for over 20 years bit the dust....

Decorated with metal Bee items I bought at Dollar Tree last year....

 In the corner....

I left the same cover from Easter on the faux mail box that I keep garden tools and gloves in....

Faux flowers and a Dollar Tree Lady Bug garden stake....

I need to put a battery operated timer candle in the red lantern....

On the table in the corner....

I hung another Dollar Tree Bee sign here....

I have had this Fairy for many years....

I bought the Bee bucket in Dollar Tree last year....

More faux flowers....

I changed out the Easter bows for red, yellow and black ribbon bows....

And added yellow butterfly ornaments with clips to the garland.....

  Fairies and frogs....

The frogs are concrete and came from Sam's Club about 25+ years ago....

In previous years, I had 2 of these rectangular planters from Dollar Tree here ......

I am using one out in the yard this year and filled the other one with faux flowers...

I am happy with how the Front Porch looks, ready for Summer even though we will be in a cold snap next week with high's some days predicted to only be in the 50's....

Using the faux flowers on the porch eliminates me from having to water anything on the porch....

Closer to Memorial Day, when the threat of Frost here in NEPA is gone, I will buy some annuals to plant in pots in the front and the back yard....

And as I mentioned the Front Porch will stay this way except for Patriotic decorations for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day....

This popped up on my FB Memory Feed today and I thought it would be interesting to share.....

This is how my Front Porch looked when we first moved in in 1978!!

WOWZA!
