Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....
I
feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin
Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

In my last post, I shared How I finally mulched my back yard after 2 years....
Click HERE if you missed that post!!
I want to Thank Tarah, over at Grandma's House DIY, for choosing my blog post, Easter/Spring Front Porch and Rethinking Storage, as one of her features from last week's To Grandma's House We Go Link Party!
Thanks so much, Tarah!!
Please stop by and link up to this charming party!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....
On THURSDAYS,
I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local
cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...
I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....
A few things I made recently as today is THURSDAY
so what have I been eating...
I made turkey salad for sandwiches from the left over turkey breast from Easter...
And some turkey soup.....
When I mulched the back yard, I then decided to clean out the garden shed as I
wanted to store my childhood sled, that graces my front porch every
Winter, in this shed, saving me from hauling it back and forth to my
storage shed that I rent...
Mission accomplished!!
I placed the sled in the shed with the front of the sled to the back of the shed.....
I
took out a large wastebasket and replaced it with a small bucket to
place shovels, both Winter and Summer ones, inside of along with other
tools....
I even had room to store one of my Ice Melt shakers inside of it...
I used a smaller bucket to hold my Patriotic yard stakes and flags inside of....
I
placed my Ice choppers against the sled in between the runners of the
sled and the handles went into the bucket , which prevents everything
from falling down...
Now I will only have to go into this shed to get my Patriotic decorations out or maybe a tool out....
I
hung the garden shovels that I made a few years ago, back on the doors
of the shed and will give it a good cleaning with bleach to get the dirt
and mold off of it another day....
That same day, I also did a little painting project...
Metal flower stakes
that Joe bought at Ashley Furniture after they were destroyed by the
tornado that hit the shopping center next to me a few years ago, had
faded...
So I got out my craft paints and decided to freshen them up a
bit...
Now I am no artist so I just did some dry brushing...
Before.....
After....
Before.....
Before
I like how
bright they now are...
This is a dogwood tree that apparently sprouted up in between the yards of the townhouse next to me and the one behind it...
Pretty, but it is killing off the arborvitae's behind my fence ( that I planted) and the house next door to me....
I just happened to catch this bird in the picture....
Remember how nice my back yard looked in the pictures in the beginning of this post with the new mulch??????
Well......
This is how it looks now with what I call " Dogwood April Snow!"
Do you hear me SCREAMING??????
This tree is not even in my back yard....
I will wait until ALL the blooms have blown in my yard before I use my blower and a broom to try to clean this all up!!
GEEEZ!!!!!
I have been doing a lot of yard work out in the front yard and I even got to set up my Front Porch for the Season as you can see in my header picture....
We have been having a heat wave, with high's in the 80's, which has also been killing me...
My Auto Immune diseases do not like the heat and humidity so I have had headaches, swollen ankles, hands and eye lids and then factor in sinus issues ( which I never has until my 50's) with all the pollen blowing around...
Thank Goodness this heat wave will end soon and we will go back to normal Seasonal temps!!
We will also probably see frost next week, which is not uncommon here in NEPA as we can still see frost until mid May...
And it looks like we will continue to have normal Spring temps. until the end of April....
Thank Goodness!
I am giving myself Grace today as it is the 2 year anniversary of my husband Joe's Passing....
I hope you will stop by to visit again on SATURDAY.....
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
