Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....
I
feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin
Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

I

commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have

And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

In my last post, I shared How I stored my childhood shed in my garden shed.....
Click HERE if you missed that post!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....
On THURSDAYS,
I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local
cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...
I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....
Since it is SATURDAY, what have I been up to and what events or places have I been to???
Last Sunday was the monthly family breakfast that I help out with at my church as a member of the Community Group....
We also had rice krispie Treats and cookies for the children, who attended after CCD....
Water and juices...
And our coffee and tea bar....
I forgot to take pictures but we had a great crowd this month.....
Our annual Purse Bingo is this weekend and chances were being sold for the Basket raffle last weekend....
Last Sunday, I invited my niece Renae and great nieces Caitlin and Carly for dinner....
I made lasagna, which I already shared in my previous post....
We also had nut roll and zucchini bread for desert....
I set a simple table....
It was a wonderful afternoon spent with family and Joey and I enjoyed catching up with my nieces....
On Friday morning, I went to Mass at 8 am which was being offered for my late husband as the 2 year anniversary of hos passing was on the 16th....
Even though I know hat many of my friends attend morning Mass at my church, it was comforting to see them there and speak with them afterward....
I truly feel blessed to call them my friends...
Today, I am going to be sharing how I mulched the front flower bed under the Living Room window...
Again, I have not mulched this area for over 2 years....
I had 2 1/2 bags of the Sam's Club Mulch left over from the back yard before they went out of stock...
I decided to use them here in this flower bed ...
Again, like the back yard, Winter really took a toll on the flower bed....
I removed the border bricks that I used to a trough for the gutter down spout so it does not flood the entire flower bed when it rains....
I cleaned it out and removed the fencing against the house....
The mulch had disintegrated so it was most dirt...
I pulled out the Amish Wagon Wheel and removed the lights that were no longer working.....
I wrapped lights around the star that was also bought from the Amish Farmer and attached it to the wheel before putting it back against the house.....
Everything is plugged into timers set on Dusk to Dawn.....
I sprayed with a weed killer, mulched it and put Preen down.....
Cleaned out the pots as the hostas that I planted in them last year are starting to sprout....
I bought my Shabby Chic chippy Angel in Target about 20 years ago after Christmas....
I placed an order for mulch from Home Depot, as Sam's Club was out of stock and they are offering FREE delivery, so I also ordered a bag of white rocks...
Much better...
On the side wall.....
I am keeping the bottom of my old Dining Room Christmas Tree in the large square pot....
I will be planting impatiens in that pot ad coleus in the 2 smaller pots.....
We have had a week of record breaking temps., near 90!!!
But a cold front will be coming in tonight and we may see snow flurries on Sunday and Monday, which is not uncommon for NEPA in April!!
63 is our normal high at this time of the year....
I am looking forward to the cooler temps. as my ankles, fingers and eyelids were swollen because of my Auto immune sensitivity to heat and my sinuses were blocked causing me to have terrific headaches...
I will not even consider buying any annuals until the week before Memorial Day for fear of frost....
My Dad always said to wait until after Mother's Day but with Climate Change, the weather here is crazy and one year, I lost over $100 worth of annuals to frost right before Memorial Day...
I was able to re-do this flower bed for about $30....
Again, I hope my investment in the rubber mulch will work out and I will not have to do this next year...
Maybe just clean it out and a dd a little bit of mulch to freshen it up...
And I hope you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY as I continue to share my landscaping front yard projects....
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
