Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....
I
feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin
Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS
I
enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and
commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have
a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to
spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

And now for a few Personal Notes...
In my last post, I shared that I had the sad and heartbreaking experience of finding my friend and neighbor Ed, who I mentioned often on this blog, dead in his home....
Another devastating loss in what is becoming a long line of losses....
Ed was the one that if I called, he would be over in a minute as he lived only 3 houses up in my row of townhouses....
He called to check in on me weekly since my husband Joe passed away....
He always gifted me candy from a popular local Candy business but I was not the only one who experienced his immense generosity and kindness...
Our neighbors did including the 2 children who live next to me, Usef and Nyla...
He always had candy for them and it became a nightly thing for them to run over to Ed's for some candy....
I will not be the only one missing him greatly....
Luckily, I had a Senior Social Group meeting on Wednesday, the following day after finding him, so I was able to get out of the house, out of my own mind and be with friends...
I also had a Pastoral Council meeting at my church on Thursday evening so again, I was with good people...
I am doing better but there is yet another whole in my heart...
Since we have been experiencing some cooler weather with no humidity, I worked on blog posts on my lap top out on the front porch....
I did enjoy doing so....
Next week looks even better.....

I hope I can get some things done that I was saving for cooler weather.....
In
my last post that I mentioned that I took advantage of the $6 Take Home
Meals at Olive Garden when my son Joey used a gift card for a nice
dinner for us on Sunday....
I bought 2 Baked Ziti Dinners for a mere $6 each.....
3 1/2 minutes in the microwave and Dinner on Monday was served....
It was delicious!!!!
I highly recommend buying these Take Home dinners when you get the opportunity to do so at Olive Garden.....
I recently bought a few Halloween items....
These 2 cuties were only a Buck a piece in Dollar General.....
They will be used in my Kitchen....
This lighted Ghost was bought in Ocean State Job Lot using a Crazy Deal Gift Card....
The eyes flash different colors when turned on....
It was $4.99 but I got it for FREE!!!
I bought this vintage styled mug with a lid online from
Boscov's.....
It was $19.99 originally....
On sale for 50% off and I had a 15% off coupon taking it down to a little over $7!!

The vintage look is quite popular this year when it comes to Halloween decorations....

I did buy a few other Halloween items that I previously shared....
These are from Dollar Tree and went viral last year and could not be found anywhere....

I was lucky enough to snag them in the beginning of July!!
They again went viral this year too so good luck in finding them.....
And I bought this sign for the front porch in Gabes....

Yesterday, Friday, it was cool enough to get some clean up work down in my back yard....
After a few rain storms, there was quite a few leaves all over the Patio and the walkways so I swept all of them up.....

I cut down the 2 loosestrife plants on each side of the arbor as the flowers were just about finished blooming....

After sweeping up the walkways , I noticed this.....

Begonias!!

The only begonias I planted out back was in a small pot on the other side of the Patio so I honestly have no idea how they reseeded themselves here in the cracks of the walkway!!!
I took some out to transplant and left some where they are to grow a tad larger before I transplant them in a pot........

These are pots from Dollar Tree......
I had planted marigold seeds that did take in the one on the right....
I transplanted some of the begonias in the one of the left.....
We will see how they do and if they grow larger then I will transplant them in larger pots as they usually last til the end of the Fall Season!!!

Something is still gnawing my asters down in the section of the yard....
I "planted" faux greenery in the planter behind the pillar....
When weeding, I noticed that The Rose of Sharon Tree that I planted last year that I thought was dead is not dead and has leaves on it....
I will most likely transplant it into a larger pot....
I cut back most the the perennials in the back yard as they were starting to look a bit spent already!!!
I propagated some coleus and transplanted them in this planter in the back of the yard....
I did plant some seeds in here too that seem to have started to grow....
I do like how the moss is growing in the cracks of the walkway....
Definitely gives it that Old English Cottage Garden look....
The spots on the picture are from the Sun.....

Looking toward the other side of the yard,,,,..
I cut back all the columbine and hostas....
I moved this watering can with impatiens planted in it after cutting back the loosestrife that was here....
The left side of the Patio all swept up....
Even with all the bright hot Sun we had this Summer, my faux flowers look great and did not fade.....
I did plant these marigolds from seed.....
These are the only begonias that I planted in the back yard....
Enjoy Nature's gift of the begonias, and I hope they grow well. You will certainly miss your neighbour Ed, sounds like he was a lovely man I finally got my gnome garden sorted out, and combined it with the renovation on my clay pot lighthouse. Loving how it looks. I still have some bits and pieces left over from the old garden so will "potter" around with them and see what I can come up with. Great Hallowe'en shopping, free and greatly reduced are best. And when you get tired of that rock about old gardeners just spading away, you can send it my way. :) Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteLovely to hear you got out a bit..and my, oh, my!…you’ve sure been busy in your beautiful yard. It’s always great to see your garden! Your hard work sure pays off in all that gorgeous color! Don’t work too hard with the mulch and take good care of you. Happy weekend, Virginia
