Thanks so much to Jennifer, over at Studio 27 by Jennifer Adams, for choosing my post, Early Summer Kitchen Hutch and Tree with a Touch of Strawberries, as one of her features from last week's Wednesday's in the Studio Link Party!!
Thanks so much, Jennifer!!
Please stop by and link up to this charming party!!
I actually baked some banana bread the other day.....
I may start making this more often and freeze it.....
Our nice cool weather is now a thing of the past and look at what is coming!!!
Looks like I will be stuck in the house with the air conditioning blaring for a least a week or so...
Because of my auto immune thyroid condition, I can not tolerate the sun, the heat and definitely I can not tolerate the humidity....
How's the weather where you live??
I was going to share how I decorated my Victorian Doll House, Nelson Crest, for the Patriotic Summer Holidays but I decided that I will do that closer to July 4th!!
So I decided I would start my tour of my Dining Room, which is decorated in a Tea Room theme, until mid September when I will change it over for Halloween..
I want to share the Dining Room Hutch.......
For the late Spring and Summer, my collection of Moss Rose China has been returned to the Hutch in the Dining Room.....
Over many years, I bought it all at yard sales, flea markets, estate sales and thrift stores.....
I also displayed my collection of Indiana Glass Colony Park Lane Clear Ruby Red Flash Vintage Glassware
A few years ago, I started to change what was in this Hutch for the different Holidays and Seasons.....
I used some of my red transferware dishes at this time....
And for Easter, I set up a Bunny Village inside of it!!
And now....
But first, I want to show you what I did differently on top of the Hutch.....
An Angel and a picture frame that I placed post cards, made by Thomas Kinkade, inside of for the 4 Seasons.....
The Dining Room is painted in a rose pink color above the chair rail, that my husband Joe and I installed, and forest green below it, to match the wall paper border that I bought on eBay over 25 years ago....
Back to the top of the Hutch, which was my husband's maternal grandmother's....
We inherited her Dining Room furniture a year before we got married....
This year, I decided to display some Moss Rose pieces on top of the Hutch....
Those are my maternal grandparents in the green picture frame.....
Mini tea set pieces.....
A picture of my paternal grandparents.....
I used the lid of a vintage glass butter dish that was my Mother's to elevate these....
I use the lace scarves to hide the battery operated puck lights that I installed...
Let's start with the top shelf.....
All of my pieces were "Made in Japan"
There is a lot of Moss Ross pieces out there from different eras and some were made here....
"Between 1921 and 1941, pieces destined for the US export market were required to be marked 'Japan' or 'Made in Japan'."
"Made in Japan" signifies that a product was either entirely manufactured or significantly transformed within Japan.
It generally conveys a sense of quality, technological prowess, and adherence to high standards."
Middle shelf.....
That means that these pieces are at minimum 84 years old!!
Bottom shelf.....
2 white mica coated Angels, that were gifted to me by my late friend Anne Marie, are in the corners......
She also gifted me the rock, with JOY written on it, which I placed on top of a vintage hanky with a tatted border.....
The Hutch will stay this way until I change it into an Apothecary Cabinet for Halloween!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
