I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Summer "Sweet Treat" Tree and a Graduation Party, 2023

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

ANNOUNCEMENT!!

It seems like I have quite a bit that I want to share so for the next few weeks, I will be now posting
 3 TIMES A WEEK !!!

I will be posting on MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and FRIDAYS
starting this week!!

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I will be sharing how I decorated my Seasonal Tree in my Craft Room for the Summer....

In my last post, I shared how Nelson Crest, my Victorian Doll House, looks all decked out in her Summer Patriotic decor

Along with a few Patriotic crafts that I recently made....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

Last Friday, I made my 4 Cheese Beef/Sausage Lasagna for my great Niece Caitlin's Graduation Party....

It was a special request from her!!

After I filled this vat with lasagna, I used what was leftover to make some for Dinner on Sunday for us...

We had it with Italian bread and homemade butter from the Amish Farmer who sets up a Farmer's Market every Friday in the Mall parking lot by us.....

On Friday evening, our son Joey treated us to Dinner from a local pizza place, Whatinthe Sam Hill's Brick Oven Pizza

We had the deep dish pizza.....

One topped with bacon.....

And another topped with sausage....

Joey also got an order of boneless bites for himself....

On Friday, they finished paving the main road into our development,,,,,

Joe parked our car in the first Court of our development and walked up the hill....

How nice it will be to have a nice smooth road to drive on!!!

It has been quite a bit since that last happened!!

Truth be told, this personal fan that I bought recently is the greatest thing known to Man since the discovery of fire and invention of the wheel!!!

I have used it while baking, cooking, cleaning, crafting, walking, exercising and reading outside!!!!!

I LOVE it!!!!!

Saturday was my Great Niece Caitlin's Graduation Party which was held at her home....

It was supposed to rain off and on all day but instead it ended up to be a beautiful afternoon.....

As you entered their back yard, you were greeted by this table in front of the hot tub.....

Cait requested cup cakes instead of a large cake....

 Pictures of Caitlin....

Over to the large covered deck, which I think is more like a Pavilion......

I forgot to get a picture of it on Saturday but this is a pic of it taken 3 years ago at my great neice Cortney's graduation party.....

A similar set up with the food ....

My niece Renae had most of it catered from a local place, Pierce Street Deli and Catering....

Their food was delicious!!!!!

My Lasagna, that Cait requested I make,  Chicken Francese, Pierogies in butter and onions ( the traditional way)

2 different types of meatballs, Italian and BBQ....

Mashed potatoes with bacon in them , which were to die for, Renae made buttered noodles , which my son Joey was thrilled about, and chicken fingers....

A regular salad with different dressings and a pasta salad.....

Various veggie trays that people brought......

Punch and lemonade....

There was also a Candy Bar.....

I love all the different cards with "sayings"....

More desserts....

And an Ice Cream Bar which I never got back up to to take a picture of or even make a sundae for myself!!!

The view of the pool from the deck....

Drinks were to the side of the Candy Bar.....

You can see The Star hanging on the lattice by the pool....

I gifted Renae a star made by the Amish Farmer a few years ago and she recently "redid" it....

She painted it and then added a set of solar lit vine lights to it!!!!

I LOVE it!!

I have a few of those Stars too!!

Here is the Patriotic one I made....

I also recently added one to my Amish Buggy Wheel in the flower bed under the Living Room window.....

I have lights on the Wheel so I do not feel I need to add any to the star but I may add some greenery.....

Back to the party....

Anyone was welcome to swim....some of the kids and teens were later in the pool...

On the steps going into the back of the house....

On the other side of the pool, a big tent was set up for everyone to sit under....

There is Joe and Joey...

Joe kept getting bopped in the head by these balloons!!!

LOL!!

That is my sister, Barb, sitting in front of Joe....

And Joe with the new Grad, Caitlin!!!

There was a Bounce House for the little ones...

And they later set up Corn Hole for the teens and a bunch of neighbors to play....

These are the 4 resident dogs....

Cody, who is the older gentleman of the bunch, who pretty much parked himself on the deck in front of the food for the day...

This is Chewy!!

This is my great niece Cortney's dog, Cedar....

And this is my niece Renae feeding Carson, a chocolate lab, some ice cream with a fork!!

It was a wonderful day spent with family, friends and neighbors.....

I have to laugh because Carly, who is now 14, already requested that I make gingerbread cookies for her graduation party!!!!

God willing, I will be thrilled to do so!!

I keep up several Seasonal Trees in the house year round....

The slim 6 foot Tree that I bought at a yard sale for $5 many years ago is one of them......

In April.....

Yes, that is finally when I got around to taking down Christmas in the upstairs....

I stripped it down to the lights, leaving the pink and green branch garland on it....

I also left the white beaded tear drop garland and the pink iridescent rose beaded garland on it....

I added the pink silk rose light covers, from an old set of lights that died, to the lights on the Tree....

The Tree is also wrapped , close to the center, with pink tulle.....

I topped the Tree with flowers, white feathers and a bow made from a pink iridescent ribbon.....

I call this my Summer "Sweet Treat" Tree.......

For Christmas, my good friend Anne Marie gifted me these ornaments for this Tree.....

I have a lot of Ice Cream cone ornaments also on it....

And Popsicles.....

I made these Ice Cream Cone Ornaments last year.....

I have also made other ornaments  over the years for this Tree....

Plus, I added some of my Special ornaments....

These picture frame tea pot ornaments, that I bought on EBay years ago, always grace this Tree...

My Dad and Joey, my oldest son...

The last picture taken of my Mom before she passed away...

And My Dad with Jimmy, my youngest son....

This spider ornament also graces the Tree year round....

It was gifted to me by my friend Anne Marie....

I just love it!!!

Next, I added cup cake ornaments....

And a few Victorian Lady ornaments wearing big summer hats!!

The bird in tea cup ornaments....

Butterflies.....

A few tea cup and tea pot ornaments....

And I finished it off by tucking some large pink roses into the Tree......

And here she is all lit up!!!!

I made the pink tree skirt.....

And placed this pink bench with these 2 cuties sitting on it at the base of the Tree....

I love turning this Tree on while I am crafting in my Craft Room.....

It brings me so much Joy when I gaze upon it!!!!

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorated this Tree for the Summer.....

My next post will be on WEDNESDAY, as I am going to add an extra post per week for a few weeks.....

I will be sharing how I decorated the Den in an Americana Theme for the Summer using blue and red transferware....

Including something I recently made....

A Tree decorated with mini toile and transferware tea pot and tea cup ornaments....

And a few other Americana Decorations....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again on WEDNESDAY!!

  4. Oh Deb! Where to start? There's so much inspiration here. Congratulations to your great niece, the party looks like fun! She should be very proud of herself; it's a fabulous accomplishment. The tree in your craft room is so festive and I can see why it makes you smile. I love, love the story of the Christmas spider. I had never heard of that before. I can't wait to see all your patriotic decor tomorrow but I gotta say your ribbon flag came out amaZing!!! I love it and I am so happy you made one. Thanks for linking up at the Home Imaginde link party. XO- MaryJo

  5. Congratulations to Caitlin. What a terrific party! No one left hungry, that's for sure -- and she looks so happy. Glad the weather cooperated, too. I do love a good celebration!

  6. Well done to your graduate. We had a granddaughter graduate grade 8 last night. Good for you for posting 3 times a week, I on the other hand have put my website on hiatus for awhile, so much going on from gardening, to downsizing, to family. I'll still be by for a visit. I made a similar flag for our Canadian flog. It's very smokey and hazy here again from all the wildfires, very poor air quality. Have a lovely week.

  9. I can hardly wait to find one of these personal fans! I would love it. And congratulations to your Great Niece. What a wonderful time of life. I'm sure she felt celebrated and loved. Everything looked so nice. Speaking of nice. Your pink tree is amazing. I bet I could look at that photo for 30 minutes then come back and find something new. Always love your gracious and happy attitude. Enjoy that new road! We could use some of that around here. I'm sure the powers-that-be will put a bond on the ballot soon. Happy July 4th.

  10. I love the spider Christmas story, I have never heard of it. The teacups gracing your tree are perfect! I think you would have loved my mother's hand painted Victorian doll heads that she painted many years ago. They were all painted in pink and mauve to match her living room, she had such a steady hand then and painted beautifully. Loved seeing all of the pups at the graduation party. We take Bentley everywhere so we love seeing when others include their pups in the festivities too! Congrats to your niece on her graduation!
