Saint Patrick's Day Tree, More Decorations & A Bit of Crafting

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I am now posting TWICE  a week !!!

I will be posting on MONDAY and FRIDAY!

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

In my last post, I shared how I decorated the China Cupboard in the Den for Saint Patrick's Day.....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

We have been enjoying some of the ethnic food in our area for Lent on Fridays..........

Our church finally made use of a garage in the back of our parking lot that was built solely for the purpose of making potato pancakes for our annual Summer Church Festival which was not held for a few years because of the Pandemic....

Our church is holding potato pancake sales next Friday and the following one for Lent....

OMG!

They were so good!!!

We had them with a pizza from Revello's....

Before I put it in the oven...

 And after.....

Revello's is one of several Pizza places in the town of Old Forge which is well known in NEPA for it's Old Forge Style Pizza...

You can read about it HERE.....

I had our son Joey pick up some home made pierogies from the local place where I usually buy them for Christmas Eve Holy Supper since he was in the vicinity of the place....

You only have to boil them for a few minutes and then add butter and fried onions....

You can't go wrong at only $9 a dozen....

I received an Amazon Gift Card from my son, Joey, for my Birthday......

I used it to buy something that I wanted for awhile...

It came in a pretty box...

With a nice card.....

I love the this pretty tiered serving dish....

Look at the designs on the dishes....

I hope to use it for Tea for friends and family and maybe also to decorate for different Holidays.....

February 24th was USA Hockey Jersey Day....

Do you think Joe has enough??

 19 of them!!!!

Not counting all his sweat shirts, tee shirts and 6 coats and jackets....

He could start his own Team Shop...

I have managed to strip down the Trees in the Living Room and Dining Room and packed away all the Valentine's decorations in those 2 rooms.........

I put the Dining Roo Tree in the body bag that I store it in....

Joe did the annual carrying of it down to the car to take to our storage shed....

I also cleaned the Dining Room and did some cleaning in the Living Room......

I even managed to do this with our Grand Pups here for several days as my son and DIL few days as  they went to NYC to see a concert and stayed for a few days...

I hope to start decorating for Easter this week....

I  only decorate the China Cupboard and the area surrounding it for Saint Patrick's Day...

In my last post, I shared how I decorated the top of the China Cupboard and the inside of it with a few decorations and my set of green Old Curiosity Shop dishes and green depression glass pieces....

Today, I will share how I decorated the area around it along with a Saint Patrick's Day Tree.....

On the left side of the China Cupboard......

A Shamrock I bought at an Estate Sale and I added a bit to it.......

This is the second year, I used this vintage green Funeral Basket in the display, placing it on top of a small table.....

I added a bow made from white and green deco mesh to the handle along with a shamrock necklace....

I filled the basket with Saint Patrick's carnations, shamrock and leprechaun picks and a 4 leaf clover bush........

I tucked a vintage post card into the top.....

A Leprechaun and more vintage Saint Pat's post cards....

I have used green foil paper shamrocks throughout the display along with gold coins....

A sweet Irish Lassie Bear sits on a chair....

Hanging on the door of the China Cupboard.....

I hung 2 vintage style shamrocks bought at Dollar Tree several years ago....

On top of the vintage suitcases in front of the China Cupboard.....

 The top suitcase......

More green Old Curiosity Shop dishes.....

I filled a green depression glass bowl with ornaments....

Another green depression glass bowl on top of a pedestal.....

One of my neighbor Elly's Bears along with a few ornaments and a leprechaun's hat....

 More Saint Patrick's Day ornaments....

 The bottom suitcase....

A vintage Saint Patrick's Lefton cup and a saucer I bought for 25 cents as it did not have the matching tea cup.....

A Jim Shore Saint Patrick's Day angel ornament.....

And another vintage styled plaque from Micheal's.....

On the side of the China Cupboard.....

The March plate on my Thomas Kinade Calendar.....

When I first decorated this area, this is how it looked.....

One more vintage styled plaque.....

Joe bought this sign on Clearance for 90% off in Big Lot's last year....

I decided to do some "Dabbling"!

I actually thought that this was ribbon but when I took a closer look, I realized that it is tape!!

I guess I had no idea what I bought.....

I added it to the edges of the sign....

I think it spruced it up a bit, don't you????

You may remember that I bought this Tree Topper in Big Lot's on Clearance after Christmas for under $3.00......

I spray painted the metal bow white....

I thought I would be adding a bow on top of the metal one until I realized that this was tape and not ribbon.....

So I did this instead......

I think it definitely added a bit of something something to the Tree....

When I stripped this Tree down after I packed away the Winter decorations, I left the white tinsel garland on it......

I bought these Saint Patrick's carnation bushes at Dollar Tree this year....

I liked that they had a bit of gold glitter added to the edges of the carnations and gold coins....

I also liked the brighter green color of them compared to the older ones I have from Dollar Tree.....

I cut them apart and tucked the flower stems into the Tree, placing the gold coins on top by the white and green deco mesh ribbon bow, in to the Tree.....

Along with the older Dollar Tree carnations.....

Several years ago, I decorated the larger 4 1/2 Tree in the Den for Saint Patrick's Day but now I just do this one that I keep up year round....

I have packed away all the Winter decor from the Den and took that Tree down to our storage shed.....

This Tree is decorated with some Saint Patrick's Day ornaments....

Some vintage styled cards from Michael's....

The green ball ornaments were all bought at after Christmas sales over the years....

I do like the addition of the Tree Topper....

I hope you enjoyed this year's version of my Saint Patrick's Day China Cupboard.....

The area around it....

And my Saint Patrick's Day Tree....

Along with how I repurposed a Christmas Tree Topper....

I hope to be able to show you some Easter decorations on FRIDAY in my next post.....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again on FRIDAY.....

  3. That tape is pretty nifty! I would have thought it was ribbon, too, but I think I would use it more as an easy to apply tape! Pretty cool!

  5. Love the serving dish, I have one that was my mothers and one that I made What a lot of jerseys Joe has, he needs a place to display them all. Green is my favourite colour, but I don't decorate for St Patrick's Day. Enjoy the day.

  7. I love that tiered tray, Deb! It's so dainty and so elegant. It's a great gift. I'm really taken with that glitter tape, too. I haven't seen that before. I need to be on the lookout! Have a great week!

  8. Where to begin? You had me laughing about the body bag, it so looks like that too! The green tape worked out perfectly on your bow, and I love the bow white. It turned out perfectly for your tree topper. You have so many things to love. Those vintage plaques? I need them all! They would look great on a wreath too. I need to put my game face on and go find some of those! Thank you for sharing with Whimsy Home Wednesday!
