I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

My Winter/Valentine's Home Tour With 11 Decorated Trees, 2022

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Just a reminder, I will be posting on Wednesdays and Sundays every week so be sure to check back on those days to see a new post......

Today's post will be my annual Winter/Valentine's Home Tour and I will be sharing my 11 decorated Trees for the Season!!!

In my last post, I shared Winter at Nelson Crest and some Crafting I have been doing.....

And now, a few Personal Notes...

In my last post on 2/2/22, I mentioned that 222 is my Angel Number.....

Well, Joe was not lucky on that day but he was lucky the following day.....

With the 2 $50 bonus wins....

He then hit the Pay Day which means he won all the prizes....

Everything amounted to $500!!

He may not have won on 2/22/22 but so far this year, he has won $2200 in lottery wins of over $100....

Hopefully, this will be a lucky year for him....

Yes, I know he is only getting his money back but at least he is getting some of it back!!!

Sam's Club rotisserie chicken is still the best buy ever for $5.....

Joe bought one this week and I saved some shredded chicken to make Chicken Parm sliders today....

We had a nice chicken dinner....

And I have put bones aside to make soup with....

All for a mere $5!!

On Friday, after a day of all rain and temps. in the 40's on Thursday, the rain changed to freezing rain and sleet......

What a mess!!!

Our parking lot before it was salted.....

In my neighbor's yard...

My forsythia bush....

Joe had to work for over an hour trying to get the ice off our car.....

Our Court getting salted.....

Not much of a difference after it was salted.....

Same with the sidewalks after Joe put Ice Melt down on them.....

Ice on the trees out in the back yard and in the woods by us.....

I would rather snow any day over ice especially since it is 5 degrees this morning!!

Because of the Ice Storm, almost everything was closed down around here on Friday

My son Joey got a snow day with pay at work.....

I can't even imagine what that would be like!!

LOL!!

He was going to treat us to Jersey Mike's, which is right up at the entrance to our development, but they too were closed ...

Fortunately, Our old staple Serpico's was open so we ordered hoagies from there.....

I got a California Chicken Cheesesteak Hoagie minus the lettuce....

Joe got a basic Philly Cheesesteak Hoagie.....

And Joey got a Chicken Parm Hoagie.....

Here are a few pictures of the ice on the trees on the side of our road with the lights from the back of Lowe's at the Arena Hub shining through.....

And these are of the Sun shining through the trees behind us and in the woods on the side of us, covered with ice on Saturday morning.....

On Saturday, they were back plowing and salting our Court....

Finally bare pavement in the center of our Court!!

So glad we do not have a drive way to worry about and maintain....

And Joe moved our car on to the road to get some Sun on it because the front of our house will not see Sun until April.....

Our township did a great job keeping our road clear....

Joe was out there working all day to get our parking spaces clear....

Dressed in his Pittsburgh garb!!!

Pittsburgh Pens coat and Pittsburgh Steelers sweatshirt

And Pittsburgh Pen's AHL Hockey Team, WB Scranton Pens gloves and hat!!!

Joe now is employed by the Wilkes Barre Scranton Pens at the Toyoto Sportsplex where he works the concession stand Monday through Thursday evenings unless he has a game...

Since he is a 5 year commitment season ticket holder, he does not have to work on Game days....

It is supposed to warm up here with high's in the upper 30's, maybe even hitting 40, this week so all this ice should be gone!!

As I said, I would rather Snow any day.....

And what a perfect segway into my Winter/Valentine's Home Tour for this year....

Front Porch and Yard

I removed all the Christmas items and added some Winter decor....

Click HERE if you missed that post....

As you can see, living in NEPA, Winter is definitely still with us and will be until the beginning of April as some of our best snow storms and Blizzards have happened in March!!!

It took me 3 weeks to pack away Christmas, clean and re-decorate these rooms and the outside of our house, starting on January 2nd....

It will all stay this way until the end of February when the change over to Spring and Easter decor will begin.....

I have started to pack up Christmas upstairs as I let the upstairs go until I have the downstairs decorated for Winter and Valentine's.....

I have finished in the Craft Room as I did that room first as I want to set up another table to work on some crafts that I want to get done.....

Here are a few sneak peaks as I will be posting about it in the Spring.....

And I even have my Summer Tree in here all decorated with ice cream cones, popsicles, cup cakes, tea pots and tea cups , birds and butterflies and large pink roses....

I will be working in my bedroom, the hall and the upstairs bathroom this week....

I will be posting my good friend Anne Marie's Home Tour for the Season in my next post on Wednesday so you want to return and visit to see that post with Anne Marie's amazing decorations...

  2. All of your things are so pretty! You work so hard on your decorating and it shows!

We got a thin layer of ice, but then it got covered with over 12" of snowfall. After blowing and drifting, everything was closed. People on facebook were going crazy since they had to cook at home, but I was surprised since it also seemed like everyone had bought 20 loaves of bread apiece! We were lucky that all the grandchildren were snowed in with their parents. I ordered some new storage containers at a ridiculously low price on Amazon and got all my Christmas packed and organized. I was pretty proud of myself. I have ordered more of the containers to repack my other holidays. They were due here on Wednesday, but just made it today because of the storm. And of course, I really don't feel like emptying closets and reorganizing today. . . .

  3. So nice to see how you decorated with the Valentine's theme! We don't really do Valentine's day here in Australia, but a few stores might have a little display of flowers or chocolate.

Congrats on the lottery wins too! :)

It's so interesting seeing the snow and ice - we never get that here in Brisbane so I can imagine how it would shut things down - we would definitely not be equipped for it here!

Hope that you had a fun weekend :) We had a good one, last one of the summer school holidays!

  4. Lots of decor going on at your house. I smiled hearing the word hoagie here. As you know, I grew up in PA and we had several good hoagie places. When I moved to WI no one here has ever heard of a hoagie. It is all subs! lol. There is nothing like a Philly Cheesesteak from a hoagie house. xo Diana

  7. Debbie your decor never disappoints. I could spend tons of time looking at each photo two or three times, there's so much inspiration and "pretty" in each one. I love that white sled and all your pink and red for Valentine's day. Those colors just grab me!! Great win...lucky numbers for sure and all that ice is lovely to look at, very picturesque, but yup, snow over that any day!! Stay warm my friend and thanks for sharing your lovely home. Hugs!!

  12. The ice looks lovely, but it sure can be destructive. We got some in Texas last weekend, but it wasn't nearly as bad as last year. Your winter decor and Valentine trees are lovely. I look forward to seeing your Valentine tray! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
