Once again, I decided to decorate the top of our TV Entertainment Center in a Victorian theme for late Summer, calling it "A Day at the Park"!
I did things a little differently than I did last year though, adding a few more of my Victorian figurines that i bought many years ago at Home Interiors parties and later at yard sales and flea markets........
It is a Summer day, evening is fast approaching and in Victorian times, it was customary to "take a stroll" in the nearby Park on a weekend afternoon.......
The Park down the street has a Carousel that is particularly pleasing to the children of the neighborhood.......
There are plenty of park benches to stop and rest a bit........
I have my gold LED battery operated trees in the Park this year........
The white ones that I used last year are upstairs as part of my indoor Fairy Garden on the Mantle of my faux fire place in the Sitting Room.... ....
This young Mother has 2 children who are anxious to ride the Carousel!!
You can just hear the little boy saying " Come on, Mother!! Let's go over there!!!!"
I moved the lanterns that were on the stairs here to the top of the TV Entertainment Center........
And added bows to the top of them........
The lamp posts will soon be coming on as Evening is fast approaching in the Park!!
A pretty woman out for a stroll in the Park......
Smelling a flower that she picked along the way......
A young Mother and her baby......
The young baby is tired after a stroll in the fresh air......
Children love the Carousel with it's brightly colored horses and enchanting music!!
I bought the Carousel at Sam's Club on Clearance after Christmas many years ago.....
A Nanny fixing her young charge's hair......
This woman brought her parasol because of the strong Sun on a beautiful Summer day.......
But now she thought she felt a drop of rain.....
Another child is begging her Mother for one last ride on the Carousel before it is time to go home........
Father is thinking about what the Cook will serve for Dinner tonight!!
As a beautiful Summer day draws to an end, it is time to go home.........
I hope you enjoyed "taking a stroll in the Park" with me during a much simpler and gentler time.......
In a future post, I will be sharing the area by the stairs in the Living Room.............
My Butterfly Tree!!
Another wreath that I made......
And new lanterns bought at Sears.......
And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

Very, very sweet display, Debbie. You have a good handle on 'size' issues when you make your displays. I always think that is an important element. It looks like you have created a 'picture' of a softer, gentler time of life. Have a great week! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy, such a beautiful display.
ReplyDeleteDebbie I am competely enchanted with your summer park display. Those figurines are amazing. I am currently working on a pink Civil War era dress just because I love it. I know you share my love of all things Victorian. Thanks for making my heart happy!
ReplyDeleteOh I enjoyed your Day at the park. How lovely and serene. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteYour figurines are perfect for your theme of A Walk In The Park. I really enjoyed looking at this display.
ReplyDeleteI also was an RN and I am now retired. It was the only job I ever had. And I loved it. Grew up in WV lived in MI now live in OH.
Pamela,
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by!! I could not find any other way to get in touch with you to resond to your comment so I am doing so here.
Hugs,
Debbie
Fun vintage display. Victorian charm for sure. I enjoyed the story you told about each character.
ReplyDeleteOh my Debbie - you're so creative!
ReplyDeleteLovely Victorian figurines and the old fashioned buggy for baby.. I like the soft colors. Sweet display of people enjoying themselves and nature.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading and seeing the decorations. Love the LED gold tree and the butterfly tree!
ReplyDeleteThe way you explained about each and every part of decoration was nice to understand about it:)
These are so lovely Debbie. I am just picturing their story :) Thanks for sharing at Creative Mondays.
ReplyDeleteThat butterfly tree is very pretty. I like how the entire set goes together cohesively.
ReplyDeleteWe don't dress like that at the park these days, do we! Except for our 100 degree weather, it seems sad that we don't.
