I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!

I hope you get to spend this Holiday with those that you love.....

My son Joey and I will be treating ourselves to burgers and chicken from Buffalo Wild Wings today for dinner....

Since my son Jim and DIL Danielle will be working today, we will be celebrating the Labor Day holiday tomorrow, on Tuesday, as they are off, with a Family dinner....

I am so looking forward to seeing my twin granddaughters, Lily and Gigi, who are getting so big!!!

This is a FB video that my son Jim shared yesterday of the Twins...

On Thursday, I decorated the Front Porch one more time in my Patriotic Decor for Labor Day!!!

To be honest, there are only a few changes in what I did for the July 4th Holiday!!

But what I really want to share are the flowers on the Front Porch and Yard, both real and faux....

I just love that porch sign that my great niece Caitlin created for me!!!

In the Spring, I purchased a bunch of the faux flowers that were appearing all over social media as an alternative to real flowers for those who live where the heat is just too much to maintain real flowers....

For me, I was tired of having to constantly water the annuals that I would spend close to $200 a Season on, trying to keep them alive in the sweltering heat and humidity which is now normal in the Summer because of climate change in NEPA!!

Plus the increased cost of my Water Bills....

Which did not go up at all this Summer like it did other Summers.....

I did all my pots on the front pot in faux flowers....

My porch only gets the Sun in the Summer after 5 pm so I think they all held up pretty good.....

Also faux flowers in this pot.....

Since I liked how the lighted garland that I had around my door from Fall til the end of Winter, I bought this faux eucalyptus and wrapped it with lights....

I will be taking it down this week as I will be changing over the front porch to Fall.....

This is how it looks in the evening.....

Not much changed here.....

These flowers held up pretty good even though some of them were not UV Resistant...

I found this faux garland in my stash and it has held up well being outside even though it is not UV resistant......

The faux flowers in the planters in front of the railing may have faded a tiny bit but still look pretty decent....

These flowers in this pot in the corner of the porch did well as it seldom got any Sun.....

This boxwood ball is also faux....

The coleus that I planted on the side of the Front Porch in this long planter are doing well!!!

The impatiens in this pot in the flower bed are doing okay even though they are starting to yellow.....

The hostas are starting to lose their luster but in October, I will be removing them and replacing them with some Halloween decor....

On the retaining wall on the side of the flower bed.....

These coleus got a slow start as I originally transplanted them from the back yard after something ate the marigolds in this pot....

This coleus is doing well even after I clipped some of it off to propagate....

The leaves almost look velvety....

The impatiens are starting to yellow here too which is a sign of Fall.....

These coleus are doing great and should last until the first frost....

The front flower bed.....

These marigolds survived whatever ate the other ones on the retaining wall.....

I threw some of the seeds from them around and even have a few popping up in what is left of the mulch....

I am still waiting for the landscaper to come and mulch, cit things down and weed....

The impatiens hung in there all Summer despite the heat and all the rain.....

The park bench.....

Begonias always do well out here in the front

Along with these marigolds....

A pot of impatiens on the side of the bench....

And more marigolds....

The flowers should pretty much make it through til the end of September unless we get an early frost....

 And another great thing....

IT IS SEPTEMBER!!!!!

Thank Goodness!!!!

August is a month that me and my family almost want to just forget about....

I believe Fall starts on September 1st.....

Because I view December as part of Winter and not Fall, especially here in the northeast....

Sometime this week, I will pack up the Patriotic decor along with my Summer decor and decorate the Front Porch for Fall.....

I will be keeping out the faux flowers as the red, yellow and orange will transition nicely into Fall...

I hope you will stop by to visit again on THURSDAY for my next post!
